kron4 morning news i am just the walled and along with james fletcher. >>james: absolutely we have the coldest day of the week this is our top story. >> we will deal with fog once again, it may be hard to see from the shot of the golden gate bridge but we have quite a bit of low cloud coverage we are expecting that to start picking up in the next couple of hours, widespread in certain places, this is in santa rosa down to san raphael and stretching through to portions of the delta as well to the livermore valley and right down to the south bay as well. it is blanketing down to morgan hill's will certainly, fog will be a part of the picture. current temperatures at 60 for san francisco, san raphael and into napa 61 degrees in concord, and 60 degrees for the livermore valley. down in the south bay it is in the lower 60s as well as we take you to the afternoon look at how will the

temperatures are expected to get. no more 80's, we're down to the '70's and even their warmest locations. warming to about 70 degrees in morgan hill about 75 degrees in our view and along the coast you keep it at 65. we are a few degrees warmer and richmond and a few degrees more in san raphael. we are about 75 degrees for san rosa, and about 76 for fairfield. here is your seven day around the bay it will be another cool one and not much change in your temperatures. it is not until friday that the temperatures actually start to blood and start to move upwards as we head towards the weekend it will be a warning tran just-in-time freer saturday and sunday. the time right now is two minutes after 4:00 a.m..

the >> here at the toll plaza everything is running as smoothly the metering lights are cycled off however we have two lanes closed between the incline and treasure island that is west bound and east bound of the debris of interstate 80 so be aware of that the good news is that it is not making any slowdown to traffic a year drive time is running about eight minutes towards the foot of the maze. as we check out the conditions west bound east bound 92 are looking pretty good we have a strong wind advisory in effect you can certainly see the camera rocking and rolling but no accidents or delays to report in your dry times are just at 14 minutes over at the golden gate bridge clear conditions a lot of space in between cars we have construction if you're headed northbound only one lane available and that is until 5:00 a.m., you see cars headed in the northbound direction so expect no delays whatsoever

>>anchor: >> welcome back to the kron4 morning news we will see a lot of that fog we will stay fairly overpasses for a good portion of the day the first half of your day into the afternoon we will have some sunny breaks the will be much cooler today we do have a warming trend as we head to the weekend so not last long here is a satellite picture indicating where the fog is this morning as you can see this settled into the north bay and stretching into the delta fairly widespread as the fog drifted through the livermore valley in down into the south bay as well the temperatures this morning traffic in san francisco, send a field and into napa about 66 degrees for oakland and down into the south bay temperatures in the low 60s this morning about 60 degrees in livermore valley about noon time it went to the '60s and '70s that is actually where we will stay even as we head toward your 3:00 hour and 4:00 hour it does not look

like we will escape the '70s pretty much anywhere you go today your afternoon high looks like this. we have about 70 degrees through oakland and down in the south bay the current squeeze out 75 degrees and it looks like we warm up into the upper '70's into morgan hill and los gatos. it is certainly one of those days that you may want to later up it looks a little chilly out there 67 degrees expected for your afternoon high in downtown san francisco upper 60 through richmond also in san raphael. santa degrees in nevada on a looks like san francisco might make it happen to the mid-70s today the same story is all the way through fairfield and here is your seven there around the bay and other cool day on tap this looks like we will see cooler temperatures and not until friday with the little bit of a budget, we see it

camping out at the justin herman plaza in san francisco we have video taken from earlier at the encampment the mayor spoke at city hall saying that he supports the occupied movement and then he was interrupted by protesters take a listen. >> we stand with you and expressing anger and frustration in the too big to fail financial institutions. >> excuse me, you are out of order. >>james: the mayor is still working with the occupied protesters to try and reach a compromise on the legality. you'll continue to follow the developments there. in oakland a similar gathering is taking place at the plaza. this is video taken near city hall where people are camping out to show their frustration with the big banks and with greed in corporate america. protesters have marched downtown and have not given any indication to when they will end their

demonstration. >> justine: new numbers show how bad the housing crisis is home owners owe more money than their home is worth. in california things are worse 31% homes are under water over all in the bay area 23% of homes are under water that amounts to more than 260,000 households. as teresa estacio tells us she talked with a local mortgage expert that says help may be on the way. >> mr. mccormick has been in the mortgage industry for nearly 35 years he says he is not seen such troubling times and with the economy still struggling he predicts that the real-estate market will continue to struggle however he says these days he can see some positive signs. some >> we are starting to see people on the private money

the traffic center your good to go with no major accidents to talk about has been taken outside, we are building for the west bound ride out of oakland in to san francisco this morning but as you can see there is no weight at the toll plaza, no new metering lights to deal with the have some construction to deal with the over at the san mateo bridge there is a strong when the advisory that has been posted. if you look closely you can see the camera shaking around but has caused any accidents so far. the chp recommend that you drive with extra caution and keep both hands on the steering well as intended live to golden gate south >> 101 over to the traffic mess we go. i want to highlight conditions on the peninsula i have been tracking the traffic laws and no accidents to report we are mostly in the green for your ride along the bayshore freeway uc speeds

over 50 mi. per hour there interstate 280 is a nice and easy ride in both directions. >> justine: new this morning oakland police are investigating two separate shootings could involve to boys that were shot by a juvenile and those boys did go to the hospital in stable condition about one hour after the shooting in men to himself to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound. in both cases police still have discussions but so far no suspects are in custody we will keep you posted and if you plan on shopping for the new iphone 4s or any other apple product you may not want to go to any apple stores this morning here is why. they will all be closed for 90 minutes starting at 10:00

>> check out this area in the background. the national weather service says that there was no official tornado reporting the south floor remains under a tornado watch. and has been raining in that area since sunday so there has been some nasty weather there. >>louisa: it is a cool down today and some fog as well. we could see it starting to pick up and produce a little bit of drizzling overcast conditions for the morning hours and then into the afternoon we have cooler temperatures on tap especially in some of the in the spot. that is where you will see the biggest drops in temperatures will warm up just in time for the weekend your saturday and sunday are looking good. will start off this morning by giving you a look at the fog. blanketing much of the day up to the north bay, the delta and the livermore valley still widespread fog expected this

morning it was the crown for a good portion of the morning by 5:00 a.m. we will see that fog in place and by 7:00 a.m. the same story. is not until 10:00 a.m. we will start to see some lifting in the north bay but keeping that around the peninsula and to the east bay and the livermore valley that is until about noon. but even until the afternoon the fog will receive back to the coastline and hanging out on a good portion of the peninsula so still the the cooler in san francisco and along the coast, we will continue to see that and around until the evening hours. your current temperatures right now our sixties. down in the south and the temperatures are low 60s and by about noon, we will bring back into the '60s and '70s but we really will hang out into the '70s and into the afternoon. no 80's are in store for today. we will certainly see a cooler forecast even to the livermore valley about 9 degree drop is expected in livermore to that 76 degrees

transit, bart, and caltrain this morning. >> justine: thank you so much now the bay area bridges are in bad shape this is coming from a transportation watchdog group. san francisco had the highest number of bridges considered to be structurally deficient. jeff bush shows the problem and tell us what is being done about it. >>reporter: it is easy to get your driving on a bridge when you come into san francisco on how we 101 but you are. there was a report released and they will use this a national bridge inventory as their source. san francisco has 40 bridges that qualify as structurally deficient. the 101 isn't listed several times in the report with a different problem reported. things like problems on the roadway and broken or damaged guard rails. one of the worst bridges is one that most the would not notice that

they're on is a short bridge that goes over jfk drive you can see major cracking in brittle concrete along the top reeling in below the roadway. taken out it is cracked and so badly damaged back to this large peace with my hand. what is more, the potential danger of the piece falling on the jfk drive which is popular for runners, bicyclist and cars. other bridges in the report already been fixed. --being fixed. >> justine: the safety of bay area bridges as well are developing stories that we are following this morning will be coming up at 5:00 a.m.. >>gabe: here is your take headline remember the motorola razor flip phone from years ago will motorola

[music] >> we have a story i wrote and investigators are looking into two separate shooting that left two boys and a man entered the first happened just after 9:00 a.m. this to the 1200 block of 82nd avenue the second shooting that took place

around 1040 last night. kron4 will tran is live at the oakland police department headquarters he has an update right now on the investigation into the shootings. >>reporter: the us talk about the first shooting that he talked about, the two boys were shot by another boy and we do not know exactly how this boy got his hands on the gun or how old he is. the oakland police department are classifying him as a juvenile. he could be a boy, or he could be a teenager nonetheless they're still searching for him at this hour, the second shooting that you talked about the oakland police department not exactly sure what happened there searching for who did this this could be a self-inflicted wound. we do not know what the investigators are out there up a phone call into the open police department as soon as i get more informational plan--passed

area wide this morning, nothing to heavy at ground level just yet but we do have conditions across pretty much the entire day stretching as far as livermore. i temperatures are on the outside, 16 san francisco a little warmer in oakland about 66 is all it will be. it is 61 degrees down in san jose and 59 degrees in santa rosa. as for this afternoon like i said before to they will be the coolest a day of the week this is the data we have been watching and waiting for this the data are temperatures will be at their lowest and easy the highs are only at about 70 degrees in oakland maybe seven to degrees in hayward and fremont mid-70s in san jose and upper '70's down in los gatos, morgan hill and out to the east and antioch, brett wood, livermore and all those locations will be in the mid to upper '70's and that is about as warm as it will get, 72 degrees below we are calling for an navato. santa rosa you only

problem but certainly it looks like a hot spot and let us start with the bay bridge in your west bound ride, you can see there is no back up leading to the bay bridge as you can download delays coming from the macarthur maze. your ride to the san mateo bridge is pretty good, it looks good in both directions the golden gate bridge, again it looks free of fog. coming in from the east bay the ride looks good. that means speed in excess of 50 mph in the same is true for the south bay. now wants to zoom in on a problem up in petaluma. this is on highway 116. there is a report of a vehicle that struck a power pool so crews are out there at the scene is most likely not to reopen until 6:30 a.m. use 101 or arnold drive and sure alternate.
