[music] >> mark: 10 for joining us on this friday october 21st. here is video of the seismograph second video from the earthquake yesterday. it happened about 2:40 p.m.. they're both about a mile east of berkeley. no major damage from these quakes, but minor damage, pictures sent into kron4 on the left. it created a large and sho--jolt even in san francisco and was felt out towards then deal as well. take a listen to some of the reaction from the people out in berkeley.

>> i was in my apartment and i felt like i was near where it happened because of a sudden the whole place started to shake. it was like aid jolt hit the ground and then calls the building to shake. and then there was an aftershock as though the building was a basketball and then it went boom, boom, boom. that happened for another five seconds. it took the a second and then i thought i think that was an earthquake. the whole thing was only about eight seconds long. >>james: let us take a live look on storm tracker 4. as we push and, you will notice there are not just to, there are three. the first when struck at 2:41 p.m. the

decent sunshine around san francisco i want to take a look at what we feel currently has you make your way to head out the door. temperatures are tightly constrained. we have 53 in san francisco, 62 degrees in oakland and 59 degrees in some of you. it is still cool up and said rosa we expect the temperature to continue to dropping a boat --and another couple of degrees. our cloud coverage is patchy. the fetus in the north bay and also an overcast along the peninsula coastline. we should see widespread clearing we are looking for a sunny skies and temperatures look a lot like this. low '70s in hayward and fremont as you head down to san jose. it is warmer as you head towards

morgan hill we have a degree that the expected high and that is what we are looking for in livermore and many of our locations. temperatures are expected to be in the upper '70's to low and this afternoon and that is the exact same forecast we have for the north bay. it will be a nice afternoon even downtown san francisco at 71 degrees and mostly sunny. here is your seventh day around the bay. we will be in the mid to upper 80s for the weekend not bad things will cool down as we head into next week. now let us get caught up in the commute good morning george. >> george: good morning james, now we have had a knife commute until now that all be changing. in dublin, 580 west bound there is an accident between a pickup

and a car. this is just in front of the rep leading to interstate 680. it is starting to back up the traffic in the westbound direction. reason i am not calling it a hot spot yet because the commute is pretty light for west bound i-5800. you can see it is not that bad at all. and is not unusual to see slow traffic here, but if this stays here awhile we could be looking at the delays. still we have no metering lights, a pretty good right away so far certainly better than the last two days. your ride through the san mateo bridge has been a pretty good when they're still waiting to confirm if there have been problems at the toll bridge this morning as there were yesterday. remember one of the fastrak lanes was not open yesterday. your ride to the golden gate bridge, 101 that

>> mark: welcome back the opening bell on wall street, the dow futures looking good and will follow the latest numbers throughout the morning. we're following this friday morning did you feel it? there were two earthquakes in the bay area there about a multi from berkeley. in concord there will be extra police officers at three high schools after one of the schools received a threat. the latest which is the third in the past week is at concord high school. occupy protesters are around the bay area gardini victory today, local protesters are being told that they need to leave the plaza near city hall where they have been camping out. in san jose the police evicted protesters early this morning.

>> mark: now the second earthquake was a 3.8. both earthquakes were along the hayward about 1 mi. east of berkeley. no major damage occurred, but kron4 viewer sent in pictures of some minor damage on the left, their raw items that fell out of the pantry and on the right-hand side there were some broken pots. in san francisco it was felt in the knob hill district as well. take a listen to some reactions. >> i felt like i was pretty near where it happened all of a sudden the entire place started to shake really quickly like a jolt had just hit the ground with some force and caused it to have quite a force. it was so big

that i was thinking maybe there was someone upstairs jumping up and dial but it felt like the whole building was doing it. it took a couple of seconds and i thought to myself that must've been an earthquake. >>james: now we have storm tracker for of the bay. you can see where they're indicating that at the center, the three, not the two. each of quick was ranging in magnitude there is the strongest one at 4.0 then about 2 1/2 hours after that another one hit. it was a 2.2. it was awfully phone-small. it occurred at

one is an elementary school and other is a middle school. it is want to make sure that this area will be safe. who ever fact in this threat said that it would be carried out at 10:00 a.m. this morning at a time when the students will be in class. we saw people already this morning, a police officer came to campus and drive--drove through very quickly in and around the school as well as early as 5:30 a.m.. we have already seen some of the sweeps take place. schools should be starting soon. and if there any indications we talked about the previous threats. when those threats came in the enrollment sharply declined because in each case they got the message the night before they had a decision to make. in the two previous occasions the enrollment went down there is a good chance that this will happen. but there should be some parents that will burn their child to school this morning and when they arrive i will get reaction from them as well as the look 10 from the concord police department

spots. >> george: westbound interstate 580 just before the 680, there was reports of a minor accident that brought two lanes of traffic right here just before you turn off to 680 north, or 680 south. that has had repercussions as you can see jamming the traffic saw the the--jamming the traffic back to livermore. it had been lighter than usual but not much more now. and how much live there is on the map coming out of the off my past. the drive time should be about 30 minutes to 32 minutes is out to the dublin in a change in is running closer to 45 minutes west bound adding 15 minutes to the commute. so definitely longer delays and low drive * for west bound interstate 580 into dublin. a good alternate this morning may be to go ahead and use first-rate and then head down towards the pigeon

passed heading towards 84 and 680 if your goal is the south bay. if you're heading to the south bay westbound interstate 580 you are stuck with the back up. now this the bay bridge we have light traffic where there was a little bump and the metering lights were activated very quickly the back up the score once again, this is really well for the friday commute. your ride over the seine tel bridge, the volume is up and so are the speeds. finally we have looked at your ride to the golden gate bridge or traffic is moving smoothly in both directions northbound and southbound. our east the hot spot is really the only problem for us so far this morning. and now to the weather with james fletcher. >>james: it looks really good. visibility is really nice, there is some cloud cover out there but no here,
