officer's role possessed saying there was a suspicious person inside. the suspect was passed out or sleeping outside of a hotel room. they made several attempts to weaken much. officer >> they were able to get the suspect to come to. he immediately presented a threat by grabbing a weapon that he was in possession of and at that point, officers fear for their lives and fired on the suspect. >>nichole: a hotel guest was staying nearby. police shot the suspect several times. he was taking to local hospital where he was treated and is expected to survive. investigators stayed on the same for hours in a new-line hotel guests and witnesses trying to piece together what initially led to the shooting. >>louisa: a murder suspect

remains on loose. stephen ruiz has been on the run since the shooting of a hell's angel member of the shooting earlier this month. this was the scene as san jose police served a warrant at a house in stockton. police used tear gas the ruiz was nowhere to be found. >>officer: the reason we used that rule was to avoid confrontation with this individual. we figured if we introduced teargassed, he would come off peacefully for. free if he did not come out was because he was not there to. we eventually have to send officers into the house. a very hazardous situation. >>louisa: investigators say against california. auden >>mark: a book titled steve

cooler temperatures around the bay area. we will see significantly cooler temperatures because of a fault that we had the accident. we are hanging out in the upper 70's and mid- 70s. your 7 day around the

bay forecast does show a lot of changes as we head into the next couple of days.

>> right now the new bay bridge is into pieces, the anchor portion and the skyway portion. there is a gap in the center. if all goes well, caltrans looks to fill this gap by next week. this animation was greeted by caltrans. these two

cooler to the north. let's lucky to the temperatures and how they will develop throughout the day. the majority of the bay is and '50s and '60s with 70's in the outlying areas of the inland valleys. most locations will be in the upper 60s and low 70's as with flight around the bay, you will see what i'm talking about. 76 will be the high in san jose. as the head over the oakland hills and into the east bay, that is where you will warm back up again. over the next

seven days, we will gradually cool. a definitely mild forecast for the week ahead. let's get a check on the commute. word to describe it. no hot spots or problems for the drive. our bridge check, light traffic westbound. there are no delays on any of the approaches. your ride of the san mateo bridge, highway 92 looks set as

well. there are no delays westbound, extremely light ride. a little bit of salt of the golden gate this morning. southbound traffic is without delay, and across the golden gate bridge. all the east they write you will see that we still have good conditions on interstate 680 in the southbound direction and on 80 westbound. south bay traffic looks good, 101 out of the coyote valley. 85 to the west valley and to 80 out of downtown are all pretty light, so is your commute in the north bay. >>mark: a developing story in san francisco, the search continues for a missing kayaker whose kayak capsize

also looks good. the volume has picked up a bit. we're looking west work towards a high-rise. on the golden gate bridge, 101 southbound, we have not seen this for a few days. fog on the inbound drive. the crews are changing over the configuration of the lanes and adding a fourth lane southbound. in east bay check started off on interstate 80 westbound, highway 24 looks good. the ride on 580 westbound is still a problem free coming towards dublin in castro valley. south bay freeways are very light. this same is true for the north bay. we're looking at under 25 minutes for a drive time from nevada to the golden gate bridge.
