the police moved in and showed a huge force before they enter the plaza. they started from the outside and moved in. as they entered the outside of the plaza, they began taking down sleeping tents. protesters were arrested without incident. they took down tents as they went through. a huge show of force inside the walls of this morning. i would estimate well over a couple hundred officers from multiple agencies. i saw officers from as far away as a back a bill, of fremont, alameda county. it seems like the protesters new they were coming. so they did not

minutes, every tent was down and protesters arrested. >>mark: protesters who voluntarily left were standing around outside, are they still there? >>jackie: when i arrived at 4:00 a.m., there were a group of protesters outside of the police lines. some people left the plaza earlier or had been informed that the police were ready to move in and they decided to come down but were not allowed in. there are still pockets of protesters outside of the area right now. there is a long line of protesters being blocked away by law enforcement. none of them gave any resistance. i did speak with a couple of them who said, that is a part of the plan. they knew that they would knock becoming in. they

decided the best thing to do was not to resist. here, you can see from the video, this video was taken before 5:00 a.m. this morning. about 50 minutes after police went in, every tent was leveled and every protesters cleared, there were no shows of incidents or violence. >>darya: they have all of these pencontends piled up, what are they doing with them? are the protesters of being let go after they are processed? taking pictures. >>mark: said justine waldman has more on what is happening in the downtown area this morning. there is also a video to show you of when this first started. >>justine: we are constantly getting new video into the newsroom to demonstrate what is happening in oakland. protesters are being booked and taken to jail. here is a video of not only be arrests, but also police moving into the encampment and physically taking it apart, stomping on the tents. not too long ago, police were saying that this situation at frank ogawa plaza started to deteriorate. they were saying that the plaza was being damaged by graffiti, litter and damage. there was a reported sexual assaults and a reporter was forbidden by a protesters dog. the

rodent problem was becoming worse. there were fire hazards. police were constantly having to with the decision between free speech and public safety. the protesters wore given notice last week that they had to vacate the plaza or that police would begin their raids today. this is video of people being arrested at frank ogawa plaza. people who have businesses downtown are being asked to open their businesses await and city employees are being asked to delay coming into work today. we do know that the twelfth street bart station is closed and it's that easy transit is rerouting buzzes downtown. as soon as we get more information i will be sure to pass that along. her and >>george: the area around frank ogawa plaza and now also a round snow park on the shores of the lake, those are the two areas to
