their children about sex offenders. there are 95,000 sex offenders register in the state. >> there will be more than 550 law enforcement officers including local, state law enforcement in forcing the crimes of sexual predators in the community. >> i have assigned 22 special agents to work alongside local police and parole. >>pam: during this massive operation parole agents will check and make sure that sex offenders are following the strict guidelines this halloween. teresa estacio shows us the guidelines and what happens if the predators' violate the rules. >>reporter: watched as agents track down a sex offender at their home, a closely examining if the predator is violating any rules on halloween. this is

news. >>pam: if you want to learn more about the parental notification card of operation "boo"we have put up information on our web site. now the occupy oakland encampment protesters are calling for a general strike this week, they say it is a message to the 1% and 99% stands in solidarity. we are live in oakland with the story. >>reporter: signs just like this yellow when saying that the general strike is on wednesday are posted all around the plaza. this one says no work, no school, no shopping. this is what the plaza looks like today. basically the protesters had a general assembly the day after they were kicked out of this plaza. they basically voted and decided that they would have this strike on wednesday. i do want to say that they have a couple of different messages that they want to send. if

you listen in, one of the organizers explain the cause. >> the occupy oakland move was sparked by a need to in the police attack on our communities, to do to defend our schools and libraries against closures and the economic system that is built on colonialism, and corporate power. we are calling for all banks and corporations to close for the day of the general strike or demonstrators will march on them. the demonstrators will pick occupy any workplace or school that take disciplinary action against those striking. >>reporter: basically this general strike, the protesters said they want to shut down the city. they will meet here on wednesday and marched to the port of oakland. we have team coverage with hazzig manyud who picks up the story from here. protesters will have to try to shut down the port of

oakland without the help of the longshoremen's union. he told me by phone that while they support the 99% movement and denounce police brutality however he said there is just no time to put the matter to a vote for union members. however, that does not mean that the fifth busiest port in the country cannot be shut down without participation. in fact protesters can create an unsafe environment at the port and then president of the union said the daytime they may have to stop working until the conditions return to being safe. >>pam: protesters are employing themselves to keep their encampment say from thieves and from the police. will tran shows us the situation. >>reporter: the tents are back and the place is full, even though the city promised minimal police presence out and i see any

>>reporter: another day another earthquake strikes the east bay. this makes six earthquakes in the berkeley area and the past week and a half. they're at a 2.4 magnitude or larger. on october 20th that is when his recent started. first we had a 4.0 and then a 3.8 aftershock, last thursday we had a 3.6 and then today we had a 2.4 that was centered about 2 mi. east of berkeley. maureen kelly ask the uc-berkeley seismologist of all the recent earthquake activity means the next big one is right around the corner. >> your guess is as good as mine. >>reporter: dr. peggy says this area of berkeley has that clusters of earthquakes before. on september 5, 2003

there was a 4.0 fall by to 3.0 earthquakes all in one day. december 21, 2006, there was a 3.6 and two days later on the 23rd there was a 3.4 fall by another 3.6 later that same day. >> this part of the fault apparently runs the little clusters but that does not mean that there will be a big one tomorrow or next week. i have no idea, it could be and also could not be. >>reporter: the orange dots on the map signify seismic activity. >> these are the earthquakes that happened this october. for the last 20 years it looks like this. is an ongoing nest of earthquakes. we think that is the fault area that is more rough and sticks more so we have a lot more earthquakes. that is our best explanation of why earthquakes occur more on some sections of the fault

thursday into friday. overall the temperatures will be milder and cooler as we head into the week. here's what we can expect early tomorrow morning temperatures will be cool once again. take a look to the north bay temperatures, 46 for santa rosa, 45 for napa, and we pretty much have '50s for the rest of the bay area. here is a look at your future forecast. we have a lot of green and blue out there listening the '50s and '60s. we then gradually start warming up by noon. you can see the yellow is starting to peak in representing the '70s for petaluma, livermore and fremont. over all the temperatures will be nice. ticket to the temperatures neighborhood by neighborhood.

>>pam: and was around the bay area an elderly woman is in a hospital after a violent robbery. police say someone pushed the 86 year- old woman to the ground and stole her purse and the richmond district. the victims suffered injuries to her head, the thief got away but no one has been arrested in the case. meanwhile the man was injured and his dog was killed this morning after being hit by a truck while crossing the street.

other areas we're pretty much what we saw. right now it is a slow cool down this evening. 77 for santa rosa, and 62 for san francisco. if you are headed out for halloween definitely expect to see cooler temperatures in the bay area. for tomorrow we have a red flag warning in place. we have warm temperature with gusty winds and low humidity puts us on higher fire danger. we have a chance of some light rain towards the latter part of the week on thursday and friday. coming up i will talk more about the rain, but expected the clear conditions small. temperatures will be nice like what we saw today button-down and a lot of locations. coming up i will have specifics for when you can expect a rain in your extended forecast, that is coming up. >>pam: a new problem for a popular republican presidential candidate on the campaign trail today.

herman cain campaign staff deny reports that he acted inappropriately with two female employees back in 1990. we have more on this complaint. >>reporter: the political stakes went up for herman cain monday with his planned appearance at the national press club coincide with a published report questioning herman cain behavior it years ago. >> i have never sexually harassed anyone in those accusations are totally false. >>reporter: the respected news side reported to unnamed women former employees of the national restaurant association. they accuse him of sexually inappropriate behavior when he led the organization in the 1990's. they say the women accepted financial payments to leave the organization he faced questions on monday about his actions. >> did you ever engaging any innuendo with women of the organization? >>reporter: his campaign

pecan >> the victim of a weekend shark attack has been released from the hospital in san jose. bandages are visible on his neck. he was discharged from a regional medical center this afternoon. he was bitten by a shark on saturday while surfing at the marina state beaches north of moderate. his doctor said the bite wounds came close to an artery in that he is lucky to be alive. house have the hospital he declined to answer any questions but he thanked his doctors and those that help me out of the water. >> are now to take everyone that supported me, all of my friends on the beach, the paramedics especially to help me in the ambulance, they did a great job. also everyone at the hospital, i just feel really lucky and grateful right now. thanks to everyone who help me this whole time.
