>>james: could morning is 4:00 a.m. on wednesday morning here is a live look from our roof camera showing relatively clear skies. we will get a full check of weather in the morning thank you for watching i am james fletcher. we have some developing news out of the north bay to get to. the red flag warning is the effect until 6:00 a.m. this morning and here is why. it is exactly what fire officials have been warning us about. a wild fire is burning in napa county in started near loma vista drive. several nearby homes are being evacuated no injuries have been reported

a one home we understand has been destroyed. we will have more on that in the next half hour. for now, some 90 a. are involved in the blaze. fire officials say that is only about 50 percent contained. we will have updates throughout the morning. let us to our report with erica. >>erica: the morning james, that is why it is so important that we are on guard when a red flag warning is in effect. the winds are coming down, the hazard does still exist. we see gusty conditions out there specifically for the north bay and east bay hills. we are still dealing with low humidity levels between 15 and 20% but once again, the fire danger will only be in effect for the next two hours or so. after that the red flag warning will be cancelled for the bay area. on to other bay area news in a look at your current temperatures right outside the door. we are

actually running on the warm side. it looks like a bottle is the only loan ranger in the '40's right now. we have 53 in santa rosa, 64 degrees in san francisco, fairfield is at 61 degrees and oakland is at 65. everyone is still warm in the inland areas. up until the north bay you will see mid-70s, we have 72 for downtown san francisco and 73 expected for richmond. tomorrow we have the potential for what weather. you can see the green on your screen indicates light rain penetrating the north bay. as we advance the clock by 2:00 p.m. you can see everyone from north to south and east and west getting a healthy dose of bad weather.

the rain will remain with us throughout the rest of the day. everyone is still dealing with the rain, contending with it through a p.m. on thursday. for the most part we will see this in the overnight hours. then we will finally see some clearing but holding on to the rain close to the coastline. your seven there around the bay forecast shows all the weather patterns in effect for the next couple of days. we have windy conditions for the next part of this morning but as returning to thursday, we turn our attention to that rain stretching towards friday. thursday we are dropping down to 58 degrees. as we head into the weekend very cool conditions for inland bay and coastal locations. we could see temperatures in the freezing category but of course we will keep our eye on that. as for the traffic on this wednesday morning we have no hot spots to tell you about. getting out the door with a check looking first at the approach to the

bay bridge toll plaza there are no problems or significant delays from any of the approaches. there are no metering lights to deal with, the san mateo bridge have a nice and easy ride in both directions. your drive time is running at 14 minutes from in to end across the span. over at the golden gate bridge south bound 101 there are no problems to contend with. we have a lot of space for your right out of marin county. over to the traffic map to focus on east bay conditions. earlier this morning a settler was issued--siggler was issued it looks like the number one lane is currently open the chp and emergency crews are on the scene. since this so early we are not seen too much in the way of a slowdown just yet. west bound highway for the commute direction is completely unaffected, south bound 680 is a nice ride through the san ramon valley. for your ride along

the freeway we have some overnight construction to deal with between albany and the powell st. exit. >>james: are developing story this morning, occupy oakland is launching a major day of protest this morning. the organization is calling for a general strike in a list of disruptions as a result of that action is growing. bart says expect delays and possible schedule changes. the oakland school for the arts will be close along with the historic grand lake--grant lake here. protesters will try to shut down the port. each process will start at 14th and broadway in oakland protesters are trying to convince students to skip school as well. they're also asking for people to leave work. protesters are about to show for the public session at the city council meeting last night. we were told that none made an

appearance but there was a heavier than normal police presence outside of council chambers where we learned more about the city and how it is preparing for today's protest. >> we have received a lot of information we have put the appropriate plans in place. it is important so that the city is still open for business. we still plan on providing essential services and that is our plan right now. >>james: not only were there no protesters at last night's meeting, but the mayor was also a no show. in fact the public has heard very little from mayor jean quan except for a brief statement earlier in the morning. reggie kumar is in oakland with more on the mayor's we're about. >>reporter: oakland city officials tell me mayor quan attended the council's closed door session from 2:03 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.. this is her at a media briefing last week. but she was a no

be discussing what to do during the occupy protest on thursday. meanwhile the union sent a letter out an open letter addressed to the citizens of oakland san that officers were confused about what the mayor and city administrators expect from the police. the head of the police officers association elaborated of the frustration. >> we were said to feel on this. what i expected a firm response, like this is what we are going to do whatever it is, this is what we are going to do. we will allow this to happen we will not allow this to happen and then followed through. our mission one is to clear out a park admission the next day is not to clear out a park, what are we doing? and >>james: the union president says that the mayor quan is a long city workers to take the day off to purchase the bay in the general strike while opd is mandated to work and that puts them in

>>erica: good morning and welcome back to the kron4 morning news. we have a windy starts are day and for the rest of the morning for the most part we will see clear skies are around the bay area currently free of fog. although it is still windy out there with temperatures are on the mouse side in the '50s and '60s right outside the door. as we head into the afternoon we will see plenty of sunshine bay area wide. as we head into the evening hours and the overnight hours that is what our situation turns dicey and we introduced what whether into our forecast. right outside

the door we are cooling down ever so slightly. at last check we were sitting in the 50s now we're down to about 48 degrees there, 464 navato, downtown san francisco is one of the warmer spots coming in at 63 degrees. as we check out where the temperatures will go on to the afternoon i set up a feature cast a 12:00 p.m. lunch time, you can see a lot of green on your screen indicating temperatures for the most part in the '60s squeezing out '70s for places like hayward and fremont. as we advance the clock posted to our afternoon highs, it looks like for the most part everyone will be in the '70s. i will break down those numbers neighborhood by neighborhood. 77 looks to be the, no. for places like redwood city and for places like now on view in the same goes for los gatos this afternoon. up into the north bay we sought 86 today but today it looks like we will hang out in the mid-70s, 74

expected for san raphael and about two degrees warmer than that into navato and 72 degrees expected for downtown san francisco. as we take our future passed into tomorrow morning by 7:00 a.m. you can see the light green on your screen shows a wet weather will reach our forecast areas. as we advance the plot closer to the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. it looks like everyone will be meeting their umbrellas contending with that what whether all around the bay area. the rainfall will deal with us, out most of the day. as we advance the clock by 8:00 p.m. it looked like we will see a little bit of clearing but of course it is still dicey with the timing. it looks like we will not see too much in the way of clearing bay area wide until 5 or 6:00 p.m. on friday. the highlight of your changes in the forecast we have windy conditions for the rest of the morning but as we head into thursday and friday that is when we introduce

and 80 percent chance of showers into the forecast. temperatures slide as we head into the weekend dealing with upper 50s for your inland and the locations and keeping it in the mid-50s along the coast. as for traffic on this wednesday morning we have no hot spots to tell you about. the problems along eastbound highway 4 have been solved so we are no longer looking at that as a problem spot this morning. your approach to the bay bridge toll plaza is nice and quiet with no meaning like to deal with.--with no metering lights to deal with. we have no delays whatsoever at the toll plaza. the drive time is running at 14 minutes from end to end. the golden gate bridge @ south bound 101 there is a lot of space in between cars. traffic is certainly moving at the limit for your entire right out of the north bay. over

to the traffic maps we go to focus on the south bay conditions. north bound 101 is moving well of the coyote valley towards mt. view this morning. interstate 280 is problem free an accident free. we indicate speeds over 50 mi. per hour. the little bit of yellow that you see on your screen is some overnight construction for eastbound and westbound to 37. we see that every morning and the speed are dropping to about 45 mi. per hour there. >>james: new details about early-morning blast that rocked a bay area neighborhood it happened about 2:00 p.m. on the 3800 block in richmond. this is video of that house. the cause is still under investigation but at this point is not due to a gas leak. police say there's no criminal activity that could spark the explosion. maureen kelly shows the damage.

>>reporter: the richmond fire department said the blast knocked three-quarters of this home off of its foundation. if eyes and in you can see the crack in deciding when i can up, you can see how the glass was blown out of the front window much event littering the front lawn. look over at the side of the house, the entire side what was killed back in the explosion and now it is being held up by 2 by 4 to keep it from falling over. here's a picture that shows what looks like from the other side. you can see how the interior of the house is exposed. check out this picture taken from the rear of the home where the explosion originated. in the shot you can see how the power of the blast pushed the roof up and knock the entire back wall of the house so that it is now lean on the rest of the structure. inside the home you can see the cracks and wall and a hole in the plaster. this shot shows a

busted been in the ceiling. the official i spoke with said it is amazing the only one resident was injured in this powerful explosion. >>james: other news around the bay this morning at ocean beach yesterday morning in search for says that he got a shock. this is video capturing the server from the professional surfing contest going on at ocean beach. the surfers says that he stop surfing because he saw the fan of a shark in the water. he says that he has seen many dolphins and a fan definitely did not belong to a dolphin. park officials immediately took to the war to investigate one ranger told us what measures they took and what would happen if the shark was discovered. >> it is not just for the competition but we do this all the time for all surfers. >>james: the rangers says crews did not detect a

shark, the beach was not closed and the contest was allowed to continue. twin girls who were joined at the chest and abdomen and are now recovering from their chest separation surgery. doctors at the stanford hospital finish the surgery late tuesday afternoon and the doctors have their mother's emotional thank you. >> we will be grateful if internally, god bless all. >>reporter: this mother was clearly emotional when she talked about the success of her two daughters surgery. her two daughters for joined at the chest and abdomen. >> we have separated them now and it will basically have a little scar to show for it in the end. in all likelihood they will need more surgery and we will do that. >>reporter: it was a 24 hour

of our warmer spots coming in at 65 degrees. down in the south bay it looks like we are dealing with some low 50s. as we check out where temperatures will go later in the afternoon a little bit cooler than what we saw yesterday. yesterday was actually a pretty warm and sunny day with similar conditions on tap for later on today. by 3:00 p.m. we are expecting 77 degrees redwood city. we're holding on to low '70s like places at half moon bay and places like any of. as we check out where temperatures will go we will hang up in the mid '70s for places like santa rosa, 72 for downtown standard--san francisco. here is your future cast, and 7:00 a.m. thursday was

the wet weather penetrating the north bay. as i advanced the clock by 2:00 p.m. everyone is getting a healthy dose of the rain. to be honest this was they with us drop a good portion of the day. by 6:00 p.m. thursday you can see that this is impacting your evening commute. the good news is that this will not be a washout by any stretch of the imagination. we will see light rain for the better part of the day into the evening hours and we will see a clear by 5:00 p.m. on friday. now go around the bay forecast shows all of those changes that i have been talking about. wednesday we will see windy conditions and thursday and friday is what everyone is talking about. the showers are expected to hit the bay area. we are only dealing with the upper 50s for inland and the locations and keeping it in the mid-50s along the coast. as for traffic, they're still hot spots to tell you about. all looks well at your approach to the bay bridge toll plaza. there are a couple more cars on the road than what we saw on

our last report. but no accident to tell you about. this drive time is just about eight minutes to nine minutes from the foot of the maze. your centile drive is nice and easy in both directions. the bright lights coming towards you are headed east bound and to hayward. over at the golden gate bridge south bound 101 you will see like conditions with a lot of space between cars. in fact, you do not have any problem whatsoever from your ride out of nevada down to highway 37. checking out conditions on our traffic maps and focusing in on the peninsula this morning. the bayshore freeway in the green indicate speeds over 50 mi. per hour. interstate 280 looks good in both directions. i shall do that the san mateo bridge looks nice and easy. the dumbarton bridge is problem free. i looked up the conditions for public transit and it looks

started late tuesday night, the cause has yet to be determined. meanwhile a 25 year-old man was fatally shot in the bayview district last night. officers responded to fix gerald avenue and equal street. they found a san francisco resident on the sidewalk near a store suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. the victim was taken to the hospital where he died. meanwhile, jaycee dugard is apparently happy, healthy and learning experience in new things every day and least that is what her mother says in an interview with cnn, she says that what philippe garrido and his wife did to her daughter is beyond comprehension. >> i watched him being interviewed as the shares ask him what happened that morning. >> what kind of emotions
