startling discovery at the occupy san francisco in kama. this is the handgun that was taken off of a camper on tuesday. we were there and this is video that you will only see on kron 4. police officers walking into the occupy encampment responding to a call help from a city crew that had just showed up to wash down the plaza when this man in the gray hooded sweatshirt allegedly threw a glass of beer bottle right at them. the workers were unhurt in the incident and the protester was handcuffed and taken away charged with misdemeanor assault. other campers say that this was an isolated accident. >> maybe he woke up feeling crappy this morning, scared by the truck a little protest panic that is all

that was. but that is not indicative of the camp. >>reporter: this is cellphone beale taken on tuesday of another camper and handcuffed. this is the gun the police had just taken off of him. police say they were alerted by another protester that saw the man flash his gun while saying he did not want to go back to prison. police said the gun was unloaded in a man carrying its said he did not think he was breaking the lock--the law. he was charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon. officers say this crime happens all of the city not just here in the boundaries of the campsite police suspect that more crimes are happening here that are not being reported because they believe that many protesters do not want to cooperate with law-enforcement. >>pam: at justin herman plaza in san francisco this was the first opening of the

temperatures for tomorrow reaching '70's in a number of places. down in the south bay in 71 in redwood city, 72 in mountain view, 60s along the coastline upper 60s along the north bay. here is a look at when the rain will be moving through again. there is the system diving to the southwest. it looks like to see the rain south of the golden gate. the computer model will keep the rain off shore until early friday morning. this is the discrepancy that i talked about how they are wavering about the timing of the system. the rain approaches the coastline and heavier rain state's offshore that is when it's the coast. his diving down to the south bay nothing a lot of rain in the north bay at noon we see the pockets of heavy rain in the peninsula and the south bay and then we see some wraparound showers through the afternoon and possibly into the evening. here is a mature extended forecast, temperatures in the '70s for the most part in cooling down quite a bit as the

hear more from the occupy out the processor that disrupted wednesdays and city council meeting. >>pam: we have team coverage on the occupy movement coming up. >>pam: we start live tonight at 6:00 p.m. on are developing story out of berkeley. students and employees have set up an encampment opposition to tuition and fee hikes. police have already moved in and made some arrests. you can see one protester in this video being arrested by the berkeley police. let us go back live to uc- berkeley. we have been following today's events. >>reporter: the general assembly is underway right now, and you to see the artistic few hundred people sitting and standing around. basically what they are doing they have given each person about one minute to speak and the general consensus is that they are

saying regardless of what they are told. >>reporter: many people that we talked with said they had more tense, but when the police came at 4:00 p.m. the basically moved to the tense and at the mouth of the way. the people say they will stay here in this area and over here i can see that we have and the water and food set up, it does not look like there are very many camping supply although there are tents and this area. i have not seen any more police in riot gear, for now we are still waiting to hear back from the administration to see. i reached out and made several calls to the uc official that not--have not heard back yet. i want to point out that several people are taking the floor and voicing their opinions but the consensus is that they will stay here and can't out no

matter what their administration says. >>pam: members of the oakland city council demand that the occupy oakland camp be taken down. this is deal as members of the city council gathered, protesters went head-to-head with these council members at a news conference that was going on today, take a listen. >> i am joined by colleagues.. >> we support the occupy oakland camp! >>pam: j.r. stone was there and he joins us live. >>reporter: there were definitely some heated moments at the press conference, the city council made the point and they won a one point to get across they wanted the occupy oakland camp to be taken down. >> occupy oakland must go! >>reporter: it is now

oakland city council vs. occupy oakland. a press conference demanding that it can't be taken down started without a hitch. >> the root fire department responded to two fires in the camp, there were barbeques, inside fighting, public dedication in certain areas. >>reporter: the protesters began to shout the council of down. and they turned the event into who could talk louder. >> as you can see they do not want me to occupy my right of freedom of speech! >>reporter: council president larry reed says it is time that the occupy open camp outside of city hall come to a peaceful end. >> for us is not about the mayor, it is about our responsibility as council members and elected

corner i talk to people every day who have small businesses and say that they're doing fine. >>reporter: many of those people like yourself are not from oakland. >> i live by the oakland station and at work in oakland every day. >> the city council should be with the 99%. >>pam: even with all of this today the occupy oakland camp is still growing. jeff bush shows to what the conditions are like today. >>reporter: more and more people are moving into frank ogawa plaza these people had a couch and a mattress that they were moving in. many of the roadways have been replaced with wood chips. the city estimates that there are more than 1825 on

the plaza and it seems like the camp is growing and several of the tents now have structures above them. artists have been hard at work but this piece near a tree on the north side of the plaza. a group was having a barbecue on the south side of the plaza and that looked like a bigger barbeque is in the works. this in the propane grill is set up and ready to go. the garbage problem is not as bad as it was earlier in the week but it is still pretty bad. several containers were full of trash and some overflowing with the biggest pile of trash was right next to the food 10. several plastic bags were stacked up with food dishes exposed. >>pam: more arrests at the occupy san francisco camp cited justin herman plaza. you can see video of a protester being taken into custody for throwing a beer bottle at a city public
