area police agencies are telling oakland we will not help you any more. news at 5:00 p.m.. >>pam: at 5:00 p.m., the gunman who shot and killed a man near the occupy oakland encampment is still on loose. this is video from the scene as emergency crews were trying to save his life. police have not release any further details regarding the man they are looking for. witnesses told us today that conditions in the camp have deteriorated and they fear for their lives. j.r stone is following this story as guests today and he is joining us live from oakland. >>j.r.: we are going to talk about what some of those people have said. this is a flyer pass out by a number of officers, it is a notice of violation and a demand to seize violations. this she was passed out to different people by a group of

officers saying that the people in the camp have to leave and take down tents. the mayor met with the police chief and president of the city council. we do not know what they talked about and we do not know if this will be enforced. in the distance, you can see that it is a rainy and dark day. there are still a lot of tents. i walked through the camp throughout a good portion of and there is a sense that something will happen. in this video, you can see a young child. this foray is carrying around a gas mask. people are preparing for what could be a worst-case scenario of police came in and raided the kiev as they have in the past. the conditions here

actually look clean today but a number of these tarps have been taped together. you can see some of the camps in the distance. again, there is a suspect still on a list. haaziq madyun has been out here and speaking with people from the police officers association in oakland. >> we only have 640 something members. we need all the officers began get. >>haaziq: a logistical nightmare. that is how the president of the police officers association describes the prospect of obtaining assistance from other law enforcement agencies. that comes as a result of the handling of the camera by mayor jean quan. >> it is a problem. i

been starving for leadership, it is her role. you cannot run from questions to much longer. >>pam: last night near jean quan ask for a peaceful end to the occupy encampment. >> i have and asking for assistance, talking to the people in the plaza to have a decent resolution. the murder last night was unacceptable. heydays an example of why we have to come together to end of violence. it is an example of why we need to peacefully close to the encampment. we are asking everyone at the plaza to leave. we are going

movement. >> last night was one of my beautiful black brothers was killed at this place. >> violence is happening around us. this is a violent city. we are here as a condition of change. >> that murder was not a part of this change. it is a sign of what we must change. this interfaith tents in a commitment to nonviolent resistance. >>pam: and an open letter to city officials, the group urged the city not to use police force. >>catherine: in salt lake city, protesters are being urged to leave a city park after a man was found dead inside of his tent. this was the scene as the body was being removed. the group has encamping here for weeks and will have to kick--in will have to pack up their tents immediately. it is not

the rain but better conditions are on tap for the weekend. a look at storm tracker 4, you can see it is lit up in a few places. down in san francisco, a moderate rainfall right now. we have been seeing areas of on and off rain. right now, about a half an inch of rain over san francisco. it has been quite heavy over south san francisco. 3/10 of an inch of rain right now. in sonoma and napa, spotty showers at these locations. down towards concord in the delta, areas of more moderate recall.--more moderate rainfall. the rain is moving to the north. we will continue to see these patterns through the evening. as we jump in the south bay, palo alto, we have a nice a dose of rain. again, let's take a look at the pattern, a wide picture, it is moving to the north. it is curving toward

authorities want the woman to explain what happened but they say there's not enough evidence to name her as a suspect at this point. fannie mae and freddie mac need billions to stay afloat. what are they setting aside millions for their executives? the company's back at least half of the mortgages in america, they are each getting about $2 million and bonuses. some lawmakers are trying to get bonuses canceled. >> why should he be rewarding this behavior and performance when we have all of these national and economic issues. people across the country are frustrated.

>> we are looking at video of the protesters when they were headed to the police station. can you tell me, has there been any interaction between protesters and police? it looks like we have lost da lin. he was telling us a group of protesters on veterans day have marched to the oakland police department as seventh and broadway. there are five officers in riot gear protecting the entrances have, we will stay on top of this story and to bring in the latest as it develops.

>>pam: in an open letter to city officials and the group urged the city not to use police force and removing the camped. on wednesday, 39 protesters or taken into custody. some protesters have accused authorities of using excessive force. >>pam: in san francisco, occupy sf is still camping out. there are more tents going up every day. we spoke with ed lee about his plan for dealing with occupy san francisco.

>> i met with the chief yesterday. we are concerned. we want everyone's input before we decide on what we're going to do. part of that input is from occupiers themselves. i look forward to meeting with them. i'm getting input from the clergy and lay birth who have joined in the movement, but i do not think there are as cognizant about the logistical challenges we are facing myriad i want everyone on the same page as much as i can. as i said during the meetings with occupy, i will make our intentions and ourselves clear before we make a move. i saw, with a little bit of or, even with what happened in berkeley, thing i need to make sure that everyone is communicating clearly before we make a move. i will be sparingly dressing anything dealing with police and everyone

>>pam: and san jose man was the victim of a carjacking on thursday. as rob fladeboe reports, the victim was later released if the suspect is still at large. force
