live unfolded on the air yesterday morning. protesters marched from the public library to the plaza. as we told you, 33 people were arrested in the early morning raid. will tran is live from the plaza right now. he has details. >>will: anything that happens here will be under the watchful eye of the oakland police department. officers are walking around to make sure any protesters would be stopped. there are only two protesters left. they are sitting in chairs. that is okay because that is not considered overnight camping. even though the front lawn is cleared the ground is soft and a soggy.

>>james: the city has already spent over $2 million on the occupy oakland protests. civil rights groups are also planning to sue the city of oakland in an attempt to prevent police from using tear gas and other cloud-- crowd control weapons. >>darya: occupy oakland protesters are supposed to be joining called berkeley protesters. jackie sissel

has a wealth of what is planned for today. >>jackie: we are expecting to see hundreds if not thousands of people. for the campus is wallpapered with signs and posters letting people know about the general strike that they have planned for today. this comes on the heels of the closing down of occupy oakland and what happened last thursday. protesters were talking this morning about what would happen today. they are hoping that they have full support from the staff and faculty. i spoke with protesters earlier this morning who told me what to expect.

>> we have a lot of support from faculty and staff after the crackdown from police last week. as far as political motivations, it is about the privatization of public education and unnecessary cuts and austerity programs and the failure to rethink other options. general social issues. >>jackie: there are a whole list of things. they will also have the general assembly. the chancellor has granted amnesty to the 40 protesters that are granted- judge that were arrested last week.

from highway 4. it could affect traffic coming in from martinez, of pachinko and the nation on 680 southbound. here is your bridge check. your ride westbound, the metering lights are on but only a minor back up with a short wait to get a good start to the bay bridge to me. the san mateo bridge ride is a problem free with no delays eastbound or westbound. it looking at your ride on the golden gate bridge 101, there are no delays northbound or southbound. looking at the south bay freeways we told you about the east bay problem, let's take a look at the ride on 680 in the southbound direction. there are no delays there. the north bay ride is also pretty smooth as well with no delays coming in from marin county.

home later this week. the 10 hour surgery was successful. the family says that the twins are doing quite well. they are even starting to take their first steps alone. now they are able to walk 1 ft. in front of the other. that is something new. it is only a week after the november 1st surgery, and now they have a physical and occupational therapy to help them learn to walk forward.

case yesterday afternoon and last night. about 500 protesters returned after what we saw yesterday morning which was the tense coming down with riot police moving in with a heavy presence inside of frank ogawa plaza. there were telling protesters to leave and then took down the tents. 33 people were arrested yesterday morning. will tran is live this morning at the plaza taking a look at conditions. apparently the police presence is a lot smaller and more casual. >>will: more casual, no doubt. there are three police officers standing outside of this band. to the top left you can see a police car. this is one of 13-20 police officers are rounded this plaza just making sure that it is clear. let me show you the plaza. for the first time in weeks we do not seek hence,

propane tanks or signs. it is pretty empty at this time. if you want to come down here and enjoy the plaza, for the first time in weeks, you can do that. here is the of the theater. you can see that it is empty. there are only two protesters that remain. the police officers never bothered them. the reason why is because they technically are not can dig out. they are sitting in that their lawn chairs. this man is holding a sign that reads no vacancy. police officers are making sure that they do not fall asleep. if they do, technically that is overnight camping. this morning, since there is no one here that means no arrests. much more on this as i talk to people.
