>>darya: here is a look at the weather and what we are facing for the weekend. >>erica: the rain is definitely on its way. right now, clear conditions. as al-awalki to the weather headlines, we are seeing low cloud cover and patchy fog into the south bay, a local into the north bay. as we head into the afternoon we increase our chances for wet weather, especially in the north bay. as we look to the weekend, on and off showers with sunday holding onto intense rain at the coast line. current conditions, '40's and 50's. 50 for those of you in nevada. a degree warmer through downtown san francisco. as we turn our attention to storm tracker 4, the green on the screen indicates wet weather activity to the north of us, situated over eureka,

stretching closer to ukiah. our first chance for wet weather in the date is 8:00 a.m. near santa rosa. advancing closer to lunch time, things become more widespread in to the north bay. we could pick up a moderate rainfall. by 1:00 p.m. the wet weather shifted southward. we could see straggles in downtown san francisco and portions of the east bay. we will continue to see on and off showers throughout most of the bay. you will see that the showers continue into the evening hours as well. the afternoon highs look like this, a lot of the '50s. not many locations will get into the '60s. corked into the north bay we will see on and off showers into the mid '50s. 55 looks to be a, a number. your 7 day around the bay forecast shows a wet weather on tap for tomorrow morning, we

could actually see drier conditions for a good stretch of the afternoon. wet weather is not expected until saturday evening stretching into sunday morning. sunday we could see intense rainfall, especially along the coastline. monday and tuesday proved to be drier with more sunshine, temperatures in the '60s. heading towards the middle of next week we reintroduced grain into the forecast. the time right now is 6:30 a.m., here is a check on traffic with george. >>george: we're keeping an eye on the nimitz freeway at alvarado boulevard in the southbound direction. i spoke with caltrans a few moments ago, they tell me that there was construction work, some paving work at the off ramp and on the freeway. it appears as though the cave man has not set properly. because of that, lanes are still blocked on the nimitz southbound. when this occurs and we have seen this before, when pavement did

not set, this could turn into a huge snag. it is right between the san mateo and dumbarton bridges. this is normally heavily traveled area. we will be getting an update from caltrans in a moment. it is late for the nimitz freeway to have lanes called off. if as you can see, it is already starting to slow southbound. watching in this as a potential hot spot, this could be a big problem. on the bay bridge westbound, you can see that things are still looking pretty well. the backups are in the cash lane only. the metering lights have not yet been activated. the golden gate bridge ride looks did

in both directions. in the east bay we told you about a problem developing, nimitz. here's a look at 680, high with four and 80. it is all clear, so are the south bay freeways. the marin commute is still without delay for 101 southbound. >>james: a developing story out of a vallejo, police are looking for a second suspect in the shooting of that vallejo police officer. this was the scene yesterday when a 19 year veteran was gunned down in a pursuit of a bank robbery suspect. police have arrested one suspect but it is unclear if that person shot and killed the officer. police responded to reports of a bank robbery at bank of america on springs road around 1:30 p.m.. officers spotted the suspect as you see, after a 3-4 mi.

for the state. this could have a big impact on 580, 92, as well as to 38. it could even affect traffic in castro valley. we have repositioned jackie sissel so that he can provide us with some updates. no problems so far on the bridges. we're still waiting for the metering lights to be activated. they have not been yet. the golden gate bridge in a minute the first, your ride on 92, traffic in this direction could be affected by the problems on 880 southbound. if 80 is backed up all the way to 92, it could affect the eastbound ride. the golden gate bridge will not be affected by problems on a nimitz in hayward. it is a good right here now. asked hik

behind it. cooler temperatures into the afternoon. when there is wet weather in the bay area that normally translates into snow in the sierra. beginning at 10:00 a.m. we have a winter weather advisories stretching until midnight. snow levels could get down to about 3,000 ft.. we could see periods of moderate snowfall in the windy, dusty conditions. if you're heading to the sierra you will need your chance for 80, 50 and highway 88. your 7 day around the bay forecast shows a chance of showers into the weekend. we could catch a break on saturday afternoon. monday and tuesday, partly cloudy conditions with temperatures in the '60s. wednesday sets the stage for heavy rainfall stretching into thanksgiving. >>darya: new details, five occupy oakland protestors have lost their bid for a temporary restraining order

against the city and police chief howard jordan. they wanted to ban police from using force to remove protesters from their encampment claiming it was a violation of their constitutional rights. the judge disagreed. a preliminary injunction is set for november 30th. >>darya: the los angeles city attorney says are presented as from occupy l.a. are seeking a temporary restraining order of their own, trying to prevent police from dismantling the in camera around city hall without notice. city officials said the protesters claim they have their right to notice because a city council resolution supports the demonstrations as long as they remain peaceful. police have said that they do not plan a surprise raid on the camp and they are trying to negotiate a time line to the end of the protest. >>mark: sfo is expecting more than 1 million travelers to pass through the airport this holiday, that would be an increase of

freeway. we are looking at a bigger backup than our sensors show. the problem is roadwork. some saving work was actually scheduled until 8:00 a.m.. who approved to lanes to be shut down on the nimitz and the it commute direction? that will remain a mystery for a while. the bigger problem is the contractor who had hoped to have the lanes open cannot open the lanes off because the pavement has not yet set. it is possible they could not get lanes open until 8:00 a.m.. i mentioned that the sensors are a little slow, it is actually already backed up the north of the 92 interchange. you are looking at what could already be an extra 12 minutes for the southbound drive. there are not many good alternate routes around the steering and boulevard, you can try using industrial and tennyson, the that will only get you so far. if you can get on the

shutdown at colorado niles road because of late paving work that is approved until 8:00 a.m.. the contractor was hopeful to get out of there sooner, but the patent-just the pavement has not set out. because it is still soft the lanes cannot be reopened. things are back up to 238 on the nimitz adding about 15-18 minutes into your drive time. it is not one, but to lanes are blocked southbound at alvarado niles road. if you can get on the nimitz south of colorado niles road, he will be ok. you may want to think about cutting over to mission boulevard. it is not a very fast alternative but given the conditions on the nimitz, it could save you some time this morning. again, some big problems here, it is likely that this will not clear for at least another hour. jackie sissel has been improved to provide
