thanksgiving. dan kerman has the details. >>reporter: here at sfo the holiday travel season is in full swing and things are moving relatively smoothly. about 127,000 people are passing through here today. but this is not the peak day of the thanksgiving travel season as you see by the chart, that was friday before the most part there is no big travel day. it is no longer the wednesday before thanksgiving because now people are starting to take one week off. >> more and more schools have the whole week off my wife is a school teacher and she had a whole week off, so people are leaving friday, saturday and sunday. it is great for the travelers is a less hassle to get through the gates. >>reporter: nearly 1.2 million travelers will pass through here during the thanksgiving holiday which is a 4 1/2% increase from last year because more people who usually do not travel for thanksgiving decided to take to the skies.

crime tracker alert to tell you about this one is out of san francisco. robbery suspects are targeting people waiting for public transit that is what we are focusing on here. here is where the crime happened. this happened saturday morning about 6:00 a.m. at 30th and mission streets. police say that two guys demanded money from the victim when he refused, they hit him in the back of the head with something. the suspect got away but the victim survived. about 11:30 a.m. the same morning and 86 year-old man was robbed at gunpoint at the muni station. police say the suspects told cash and credit cards are the guys backpack. the suspect that away and the 86 your all was not hurt.
