try to cook him in a stew. neighbors alerted the police when they said they noticed a strange odor. and drug cartel violence is nothing new for mexico. it does not strike this little city often but all that changed this week. >>reporter: bodies were found in mexico's second- largest city. in all, the bodies of more than 20 victims found in three vehicles a police spokesman said there was a message left with the bodies but he would not say what it was. in a country where more than 43,000 people have been killed in the five years of the government launched the war against drugs this was the second discovery of multiple bodies in just 24 hours. authorities in the city and found 16 charred bodies the day before. according to a study released this week by the group mexico united against crime, murder by firearm has increased by more than 200

[music] >>catherine: of black friday violence in a wal-mart parking lot this is video from earlier in san leandro that is where a shopper was shot during what investigators it was a robbery attempt. the suspect is 20 year-old tony phillips but the police say they are looking for other suspects. we have a closer look at what happened. >>reporter: standing in this wal-mart parking lot in the back of this red car around

1:50 a.m. friday morning, that is what the san leandro police say group of people were doing that just finish some black friday shopping at does want our location. investigators said that the crime is captured on surveillance video but because the incident occurred late at night the video was dark and a little grainy, but the san leandro police say shows the suspect vehicle driving by the victims once and then driving back around blocking their red car in. as many as three suspects to get out and the band personal items. when the victims refused, the investigators said a scuffle broke out in this area behind a red car. then one of the suspect pulled out a gun and shot one of the victims that then staggered and fell right here. according to the san leandro police department the other victims manage to russell one of the suspects to the ground and held him there until the police arrived. the other suspects got away.

has been an interesting evening because out here you have a celebration for the christmas tree lighting in a couple blocks down and have protesters with occupy san francisco and officers in riot gear. let me step out of the way because in the distance you can see the large crowd that we have at union square. and then in the distance you can see the christmas tree. i just walk a block and it took me somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 minutes to get over here just to do a live shot. but again this is an odd situation i want to go to the video to show you what it looks like just a block down. blisses' video from around 20 minutes ago. the people from occupy san francisco are here, you can see the officers there are a lot of officers out there there have been a lot of officers all day and a lot of people have said to her why it some of the officers are here? at one point, the protesters were outside of the macy's men's stores sitting in the street chanting different things and some were in the neighborhood between 40 and
