on thanksgiving morning. we have new video from inside the jack in the box. police said the man in a white shirt got in a fight with the victim and police said not long afterwards, the suspect intentionally ran over the victim we are looking again at the suspect. they ran him over with his suv as he was walking a few blocks away. the suspect drove off but witnesses did the diesels. maureen kelly talk with the victim's mother and she had a message for the man the police say try to murder her son. >> i am hoping that the suspects would just be a man in step up to the plate in turn himself in. >>reporter: the mother of the 29 year-old barbara bartal, says that she has not given up hope that her son will pull through and be back fighting fires once again. al gore sustained a dramatic brain injury in the attack. he is on life support and in critical condition at sf general after going through an eight hour surgery.
