>>catherine: we talked with academic officials about the proposed cuts to education and here's what they had to say. >> it is pretty problematic i am on financial aid, if things get worse, we have to worry about if i will be able to have financial aid in the next couple of years, this is a tricky situation. >> i currently get about 4000 per year, now it is going to go up to 8000 that i know. i have to take out so many loans just to cover it. >> what can we do about it? we cannot really do anything but it is bad. >> i do not like it, right now i'm on financial aid and a scholarship and i live on campus and it is not paying. i do not have enough money to live. i may be going to school, but financial aid and everything is being sucked up. i have all my

expenses going to school. >>reporter: apparently the majority of the voters in california support governor brown's plan to raise taxes. a new poll says that 60 percent of likely voters are on board with brown's plan to temporarily raise the sales taxes and income taxes on high earners. 36 percent oppose the idea. now, when you break this down by party affiliation, 78 percent of democrats support the plan while 16 percent oppose it. meanwhile, the republicans are at 39% in the agreement. the public policy institute of california conducted this poll, governor brown is trying to put the proposal on the november ballot. by the look of the numbers, republicans excluded, a majority of people are supporting it
