pam >> police are on the hunt for to hit and run drivers that killed a man, this happened last night in fremont. police say a light- colored midsize suv to obtain man about 7:30 p.m. and then a car behind the suv ran over the man a second time. both drivers kept going the 56 year-old man was outside the crosswalk when he was hit. a 48 year-old man is behind bars and san leandro accused of firing off illegal fireworks. the malfunction and damaged a home in a car. this happened friday night. a bomb squad was called to the scene the police said the men tried to shoot off a high-power fireworks inside of the big iron tube with a firework exploded sending extract metal into that area. the man is facing charges of felony possession.

with the analysts have said what do you think? >>reporter: it is pretty obvious, he talked about issues today that he is talked about over and over again, some of those are difficult decisions that he made last year with the budget and the difficult decisions that he will likely have this year about budget and pension reform in the future. i talked with political analyst jason mcdaniel from san francisco state university who use the year. he says the governor does have some things going for him as we go to the new year. first of all there is approval of his style of work. he has made some progress with budgeting. your finally, he says there is growing voter approval of his tax and pension reform plan to raise $7 billion. but analysts said the governor has had its problems, the tax measure on governor brown was pushed so hard that it did not go anywhere with republicans and because of the he made major cuts affecting millions of people. it failed. and part of that has

been the fact that he failed to connect with the conservative republicans in sacramento. he spoke about some of the problems this afternoon. who >> i think the voters want high-quality public schools and universities and infrastructure but they also want low taxes, they want both. it is up to the government to finance the spot and right now they cannot account >>reporter: if you think you have heard jerry brown talk about tax initiatives in pension reform a lot in the past year, there is so much more that is coming up in the next year as he tries to get more voter approval as he tries to speak with voters on why this is needed. real >>pam: do we have the idea about how voters feel about the reform? >>reporter: some men have been a member of surveys that have come out 60 percent are actually in support, california voters supporting the tax initiative and the other that has come out 51% for the plan.
