>>erica: good morning and welcome back to the kron4 morning news. we are taking a live look at downtown san francisco. it is not to fall here.--too foggy here. today may be a degree or two warmer than yesterday depends on where you are located. we have the potential for some north bay rain starting tomorrow. let us get straight to the visibility chart to show you where that since fog is supported. less than a quarter mile for santa rosa, the same goes for navarro and napa and even oakland is

nearby. we spoke with the berkeley fire chief who said the fire quickly grew to a 3 alarm. >> we have eight engines, two trucks, three paramedic units and to chief officers on the scene. we had additional companies as well as alameda county and oakland. >>justine: the chief also told us that two firefighters were treated on the scene for heat exhaustion but they are expected to be ok, reggie kumar texas to the scene. >>reporter: when berkeley firefighters arrived in shape this home was fully engulfed in flames. it quickly spread to another own right next to it. 15 homes were evacuated the people in sight of the homes that were burning made it out front. during the time officials say power line fields on the second tower

parts of the bay area. as we head into the afternoon we will see a little bit more sunshine in a mixture of clouds out there. temperatures in the upper 50s and 60s and into the overnight hours the have potential for some sprinkles in the north bay but you will see that the in your extended forecast. let us show exactly where the dance fog is located less than a quarter mile to santa rosa and this is all the way to navato and napa. we could see some pretty hazardous driving conditions for your entire stretch of highway 101. that fog is getting relatively tense around the coastline. but at least we have some pretty warm temperatures out there is faulty the we are not contending with freezing fog there in the upper '40's in santa rosa. those are some of the cooler spot. everyone else is enjoin '50s and upper 40's.

three alarm fire that affected two homes. here is the scene on the other avenue. this in the aftermath of the fire that broke out on the 1000 block of miller. during the fire line--fire fight, a power lunch fell on one engine and another one had to be called in. >> the power line came down and the firefighter who was operating the engine notice that the line came down and we announced a safety alert to all the personnel on scene. part of the issue is that water conducts electricity so concerned about operating near that was a concern. >> mark: residents were able to get out of the home safely. two firefighters were injured and treated for heat exhaustion. will go back live with an update

update. >>erica: good morning to you mark. the fog is the most gentle to the north bay. visibility is right around zero in some spots. i will show you the chart in just a few minutes. as we head into the afternoon will squeeze al little bit more sunshine. into the overnight hours we're waking up tomorrow morning into the afternoon. we do have the potential for some rainfall in the north bay. temperatures are sitting in the 40's. take a the divisible the map so that we can show exactly where that fog is associated. there is really limited visibility for the entire stretch of highway 101. take a look, we're under a mile for half moon bay. the fog is particularly dense along the coastline. the good news is we have some pretty warm temperatures with the upper '40's for navato santa rosa in fact almost 10 degrees warmer compared to where we were yesterday. we have low

40's for napa and fairfield. there is a warm start to downtown san francisco. we have a pair of 54 half moon bay and 405 for those in fremont. it looks like by 7:00 we will continue to see widespread '50s and maybe some up for these lingering through santa rosa and petaluma. pretty much that is the same story by the 10:00 hour. as we advance closer to the afternoon, all this light blue indicates upper fifties around the bay area. it actually looked like we have low sixties for a sum in the spot. the storm tracker show some wet weather activity just to our north. you can see this indicated by the green on your screen. we do have the potential for rainfall in the bay area tomorrow we have mostly cloudy conditions for everyone we could catch a sprinkle or to the north of the golden gate bridge. saturday and sunday partly cloudy conditions and monday, tuesday and wednesday we have the start of the next work week and temperatures could reach the upper 60s. it is time for a

check on your morning commute. >> george: the morning erica, as we continue to track fog the fog advisory its issue for a number of the area bridges. among them is the bay bridge ride. the see a little more fog creeping into the shot as the camera in the upper right-hand corner starts to get a little pale. perhaps that is warranted, at first when we look at the bridge it did not seem as though the advisory had been warranted although we can't see me expand and is often time foggy there. your ride to the sad tale bridges under a fog advisory this morning but there is light traffic this morning as it has been every day so far this week. at the golden gate bridge we did not have a fog advisory but we see some fog coming across the span here as well. and fog advisories are into this for both the san mateo bridge

and the dunbarton. is not often that we see the fog advisory reach that far down. >> george: the maps are green indicating great speeds. and we will take a close look at the ride from the expressway up to the capitol expressway. your drive time is just 12 minutes. one stretch shows the speed dropping down to 40 mi. per hour between the 280 and the 880 interchange. otherwise of live to to 37 in is a great ride. 101 south bound is delay free as you head down to the toll plaza of the golden gate bridge from highway 37. >>justine: a reverence for an oakland homicide victim who donated his organs is

scheduled for friday afternoon. charles butler was shot a week ago today while driving in oakland. he was taken off life support the next day in his organs were donated to two men in need of transplants. one received his liver and the other received his pancreas and kidney both operations happened on christmas day. in viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. in oakland. we're also getting new numbers on the number of homicides that are up in several bay area cities. we will start with what is happening in oakland, richmond and vallejo as they all saw an increase in murders compared to this time last year. in oakland, there were 12 more one year ago today and enriched and there were 4. san francisco stay the same with 50 and in vallejo there was one more homicide in 2010, the biggest increase was san jose it ranks as one of the safest big cities in the country this time murders almost double. san

jose has been 38 murders this year compared that to just 20-year. police said that most of those are gang- related. >> mark: concord police are looking for a moon--woman who struck a man with her vehicle. officers were on foot here at 98 and as an avenue. she is wanted on two felony warrants for possession and sale of drugs. when the officers approached her she drove onto a sidewalk she struck a man that just had, and not of the liquor store and she threw him 50 ft. he was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life- threatening she fled the scene and the police are still looking for this morning. >> mark: also in the oakland area suspect fleeing from the police. the suspect the

san francisco police were looking for will ramp into the police car. plainclothes officers responded to reports that the suspect had assaulted someone with a deadly weapon. police said the suspect appeared to recognize the officers and >>justine: a 19 year-old accused of shooting iraqi war veteran will face an attempted murder charge. some guests were in healing and interest oxide from balloons and drinking heavily and he was attacked in and take as he tried to began arguing with the soldiers a brother, then sullivan tried to stop the fight.
