>>pam: a former school bus driver is behind bars to nine suspected of molesting children. this is his picture. police say last year and 11 year old special need student reported the abuse. investigators then revisited a 2004 case which he was also the suspect he is now being charged in both crimes and police are searching for additional victims. both girls were riding on the school bus driven by the suspect. oakland police are hunting for a man that they say tried to kidnap a child. this is the sketch of the suspect this crime happened the day after christmas on arrowhead drive. investigators said the stranger use can be to try to lure the nine year old boy into a car and when that did not work, the man grabbed the boy that manage to escape. a $2,500 reward is being offered in this case. we will be right back with much more news to come.

>>pam: san francisco police say suspected burglar had escaped from a steep hill. the 24 hour standoff started after a home was robbed. the suspect fled towards a cliff and disappeared in this big brush, instead of searching for the man police and set up a perimeter due to the dangerous terrain that we do show do. the officer tried to convince the man to come down but he refused. about 10:00 p.m. a neighbor reported seeing the man sliding down the hill and walking off. we will be right back.

[music] >>catherine: more painful cuts could be coming for californians. this as the governor unveiled his budget plan for the coming fiscal year. dan kerman joins us with a look at what is on the chopping block this time around. >>reporter: he says if these cuts are not done it there are not to raise tax increases there will be even more cuts. the governor says there is a $9 billion deficit. he is calling for more cuts. he says if that is not approved as i just said, we will have more cuts and that could be the case through 12 education. let us begin by looking at the first round of cuts. the governor is proposing to cut nearly $1 million a. another 850 record--and the other 842 million and so on.

>>reporter: we are also looking at 807 $4 million in education cuts. >> we are cutting welfare of almost a billion and a half dollars. we are making some very painful reductions. a mother and kids are getting the same well for a check in real dollars that they got in the '80s. this same for the elderly, the blind and disabled. child-care cuts, this is not nice. but that is what it takes to balance the budget and that is assuming that we get our tax revenues. >>reporter: the governor has proposed a temporary have a sense sales increase and income tax increase for those making more than $250,000. he's of voters do not prove that it will trigger more dramatic cuts, $4.8 billion to k through 12 and another 200 million to the uc and cal state system

handful protesters outside of city hall. we can show video of protesters earlier this afternoon they were beating down the doors of city hall. they were angry over the police coming to the plaza last night and making an arrest also ticking down several structures. you can see a tug of war with police officers that the protesters tried to get into city hall. the police officers were shouting that someone will be down to talk with them but the protesters insisted on speaking with someone and they began to shout let us in. the police finally got the doors locked. the protesters were sent out five of the most then down to talk with them. 4 people were allowed to come to city hall and speak with the mayor. they made several demands including having those arrested last night released. they also won a police to have sensitivity training. police contend that they told the
