spot to slow the ride around the bay area. we are watching the bridges this morning. we have light traffic and some fall. this is an easy ride no matter what your approach. this move traffic conditions in both directions. no delays eastbound or westbound. your commute to the golden gate bridge is where we have some fog this morning. there are no delays through marin county. first, let's take a look at what is happening on the east bay freeways. no delays for 80 westbound. your south bay freeways are doing fine. a little bit of slowing on 101, but that will not amount to much. the

north bay ride is still easy coming through marin county. >>justine: here is a developing story we're following, the burst in hiring for december has now pushed unemployment down. the labor department that out these new figures employers added 200,000 jobs for the month of december. the unemployment rate is now down to 8.5%. that is the lowest level in nearly three years since february 2009. >>darya: in a developing story out of sentences go, there were two men detained earlier this morning in the city's seven district after police blocked off streets and shut down a freeway off

ramp. multiple shots were fired from this building on ninth street around 11:00 p.m.. police set up a perimeter around the block in the nearby streets. yoli aceves asked its outside of that building. >>yoli: when the shots were being fired, you still have traffic coming off of the ninth street exit. this is the building where the gunfire originated. at one point, when officers arrived, there were not even

sure if it was this building. >> the suspect's did come out from the building and were detained. weapons were recovered and we are confident that the people we have detained are the actual suspects. >>yoli: at one point they were jumping rooftop to rooftop. i spoke with the police station a half an hour ago. those men are still being detained and questioned by investigators. even though no one was hurt in the

traffic regardless of where it is your headed this morning. at the bay bridge toll plaza, the westbound ride is easy. the approach is our problem free. we are past the time when the metering lights would normally be activated. your ride on the san mateo bridge has no problems on the approach and no problems across the stand. looking at the traffic maps you will see some of conditions for interstate 80, interstate 680, south bay freeways are still delay free and to the north bay ride looks good for 101 coming out of novato headed south to the golden gate bridge. public transit is still joining a delay free morning.

>>darya: funeral services will be held today for the fight for a boy who was shot and killed in oakland last week if if the funeral will be at the st. elizabeth's church in oakland. carol martinez was shot and killed standing in his family's talk a truck. he was just a few feet away from his father when he was hit with the gunfire and taken to hospital where he died. there have been no arrests made in the there has been no motive. he is the third child to die from gunfire in oakland since all this. the funeral will be today for fremont mayor bob wasserman. it will be held at the harbor light trucks. he died last week at the age of 77. he was a strong supporter of moving the oakland a's to its city. he was active in fremont government since 1976 when he was appointed as police chief. he was elected to the city council in 92 and served as mayor since 2004.

lowest level in nearly three years. we have always been able to break down how unemployment has done since 2010. the labor department gave us these figures. 2010 the economy added 940,000 jobs. that is when the unemployment rate was at 9.6%. for 2011, the economy added 1 1/6 million jobs. the end of limerick for last year averaged 8.9%. economists are now forecasting that the economy is going to add 2.1 million jobs this year. again, the unemployment rate just came out showing that we are at 8.5%. i will be back in a few minutes with a market update. stocks are responding positively to these new members. >>darya: we're watching the waves at the pacific appear . the story is all about how all these waves can be dangerous.

to what we saw yesterday. we will continue to see a dry and mild weather pattern until january--the middle of january. the area of red on your screen from napa to vallejo indicates less than a quarter of a mile visibility in hazardous driving conditions up and down highway 101. we also have a dense fog in the livermore valley. the yellow indicates less than 1 mi. of visibility. on top of the fall we have freezing temperatures in the north bay. everywhere else is on the warm side. hayward is coming in at 47. 48 for those of you in oakland. into the afternoon, a mixture of the '50s and '60s. that could actually be one of the warmer spots around the bay area. your

satellite and radar shows high pressure situated over the bay area. that is actually guiding the storm have the will to the north. dry and mild conditions with temperatures in the '60s. mid-60's as we head into the weekend and sunshine for the next work week. let's get a check of the morning commute. >>george: we have a lot of light traffic. for example, take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. even this far into the commute we have no delays and a very light traffic headed to the bridge. we have a compound effect. we have holidays like traffic in hand, it is a friday. good news if you're headed towards the bay bridge. normally you would have a three-five minute wait at the toll plaza at this hour but that is not the case this morning. the ride on the san mateo bridge looks good as

well. looking at the traffic maps, they tell the same story. drain on the roadway sensors indicates goodspeed's for westbound 580. philip of slowing through livermore. the south bay freeways are problem free. so is the ride through marin county. there are no delays from 37 of we down to san rafael. >>james: there were two men allegedly shooting bullets in the air, that caused police to shut down the area and an off ramp to the freeway. here is the scene as it slid out yesterday. here is the location, the

400 block of ninth street. the first sound of gunfire occurred after 11:00 p.m. last night. police set up a perimeter once they get to the scene. they heard the shots fired. yoli aceves has been out there walking us through the sequence of events. yoli, when police arrived, our understanding is they heard the gunshots. >>yoli: that is correct. at first they were not sure where it was coming from the they figured out that it was from this building. they did set a parameter and locked down the area. they also blocked off the ninth street exit. it is now open. here is video of the suspects.

at one point they stopped firing their rifles the and there were jumping from rooftop to rooftop. when they got to the third building, they finally surrendered and came down. then, officers were able to take them into custody. the police department said they still have them detained and are questioning them. they were not targeting people were not object, nonetheless police had to shut down. >> i walked to the store, i heard about three shots being fired off, i walked a little bit further and i heard four more rounds go off. >>yoli: even though no one was hurt in this incident, the man that can face charges of negligence for

discharging a weapon within city limits and possibly other weapons charges as well. >>james: as she said, traffic is the lumber--no longer impacted. >>darya: just one week into the new year and san jose has its first homicide. it happened in the 200 block of alexander avenue. police got there and found a man had been shot. police believe it could be another active gang violence. >>craig: it happened here in the 200 block of alexander avenue. police say the shooting happened around 80 p.m.. the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead a half hour later. the police are investigating this as possibly gang related. there were 41 murders last year, that is twice the amount from 2010.
