>>pam: a san jose state university student was arrested and accused of sneaking into a dorm rooms in the listing women while they slept. the first report came in at about 3:30 a.m.. police investigated and found that at least four women said they had been groped by the suspect at did joe west hall on campus. university officials issued an alert warning students about the attack. surveillance video was cold and the victims questioned. by noon, they announced a suspect was arrested. >> we are quite confident that we have the right person. we will all sleep better tonight. if we were able to do a lot of police work and very quickly, if everything from our officers checking the surveillance cameras fastened as the call came into continuing to study the footage and interviewing witnesses.

on the door, shots rang out. what here is the front window. it is shattered. inside, bullets riddled the place from the ceiling to the floor into the sidewalls. so many shots that the bullets are reached to the kitchen in the back of the apartment unit. directed people inside and after hearing shots and they doubt. thus spoke with the woman who was full of grief to said she was afraid for her life. she says maybe if she was able to reach the door in time that he would have been able to get it and would not have been hit as many times as he was and perhaps would still be alive. we spoke with some people who did not want to go on camera but say they heard a car speeding off from this location after shots were fired. at this point there is no motive for the shooting.

>>pam: the victim's name has not been released but friends showed us this photograph. he was a barber who worked next to the apartment complex where he lived. people we spoke to say they do not know who would have wanted to hurt him. barbershop, he did not bother anyone, i know he was not. i do not know why he is dead. all i know is, that could have been my child. he and my son are the same age. they are killing these kids, they do not know who they are shooting. they do not hear any more. life does not mean anything. so he did not have to die like that. >>pam: police have no details on the suspect but at this time they are interviewing people in the area. it's >>pam: to burglary suspects are cars with murder of an

school. the school was locked down and students ordered to shelter in place. initially polices state the threat was made by a 15 year-old student. police detained the student and searched his residence but found no weapons. late on friday police say there is no evidence that the 15 year-old was responsible and released into his father. but to the information has not been substantiated and although several students including the 15 year-old talked about hearing rumors of the threat but none could produce any proof that a social media posting. such an adjacent wires as the school did the right thing by contacting police. >>officer: students need to know if there were not in fact making a real threat, if this was just talk for five or to get a rise out of someone, it is very dangerous. yeah the campus of a lot of students and faculty, they understand that the threat can be real. it does happen.

hall made deep cuts to help balance the budget. over the past several months, about half of those laid-off officers have been reinstated as a result of replacing those officers who were leaving the force for other reasons. >> whenever a vacancy was created in we had an eligibility list for those offices or laid off for them to be reinstated. about half of them decided to come back. we do not want to give the public perception that we're adding officers. the only time will call those officers to come back is if there is a vacancy. the number officers in the department is hovering right around 1100. the number does change from week to week due to people coming in and resigning were being terminated for retiring.
