some departures were also delayed but now that the weather has pretty much cleared out things are getting back on schedule. >>grant: reports of an avalanche coming from the alpine meadows resorts. if you check out some of these images, you can see the conditions of their. these were taken just in the past hour. we were told a male skier was with other skiers on the backside of alpine meadows when the avalanche occurred. one of the skiers was able to get out of trouble. that person called the sheriff's office and it was apparently a rugged area that was difficult to reach for. he eventually patrols did reach a man who was trapped. patrol is currently seeking out anyone who might need help. injuries are not yet known.

civic center plaza. this rally has been going on since 4:00 a.m.. many people marched over here from the state building. sphene people are here because they are talking about what they call the block by block the dismantling of education. let me show you video from earlier. many students are talking about higher tuition and a teacher cuts, layoffs and budget cuts at the k-12 level. the bottom line is budgets for education must be restored. >> i currently work three jobs to pay for school. these budget cuts affect me. we all need to take a stand.

they need to make decisions in the best interests as -- and the best interest of the students and staff at the campuses they work for. >>dan: even teacher assistants advocate-12 level are being cut back. teachers have to do more, that just takes away from the learning process. again, this rally is in full swing right now. we're expecting it to get bigger as people get off work. >>pam: students spelled out the word occupy, the act action is a part of the occupy education statewide day of action.

>>pam: jeff bush's live in castro valley tonight. what is going on and are protesters planning to speak at tonight's meeting? >> this rally just finished up. there were speakers and the teachers association, the there were students and teachers talking about these proposed budget cut get teaching positions being eliminated. there is still a sizable amount of people here and they have taken positions here in castro valley. they are trying to get support from the public and trying to generate attention for the public to come out for tonight's school board meeting where that decision will be made.

fees are creating an up for on-line. bank of america announced that they're currently testing new fees on checking accounts, on the new accounts only in arizona, georgia and massachusetts. the fees range from $6-$25 a month. there are ways that customers can avoid the monthly fees. they can maintain a minimum balance, they can have a mortgage to bankamerica, use the bank of america credit card or bank online. j.r stone is joining us live from san francisco and has reaction from customers. those customers are concerned that those fees will wind up in california. >> the number of customers who banked at bank of america and i spoke with customer is moving at other things in the area to save some do not have a problem with monthly fees some of the majority said no way! >> is definitely not a good thing.

>>dan: just a few minutes ago, a rally wrapped up here. here is video of what looked like. several hundred people protested cuts to education. we are not talking about college students, we're talking about elementary school students. many came here with their teachers. we're also talking about college students themselves who are protesting an increase in tuition. teachers were here talking about a teacher layoffs, especially those here in san francisco. many of these folks say it has stopped if california is going to succeed, they have to give students in schools to succeed. >> we are fighting fee hikes and budget cuts that are affecting all levels of education. >> i think it's crazy how this state of california goes from #one in the country in public education to 48.
