the shots were fired not only by police but by the suspect as well. he said that he killed people in france to atone for the deaths of palestinian children. the french president said that investigation is underway to determine if he had any help in the attacks. authorities had hoped to take him alive.

mirkirimi also attended a mandatory orientation for a 52-week domestic violence intervention program. as mirkirimi has been suspended from his job as a shared by the mayor. he declined to speak with reporters. a suspected child molester has been arrested in santa cruz. he is accused of committing sexual acts with a 14 year- old girl. he contacted the kron facebook and sent thousands of text messages. he also met her at her school several times during her lunch break. police are now checking to find out if there are any other victims. police in gilroy out of the body of a woman who met missing after her son killed his sister did his own life. the man on your last shot

in the morning. patients are seen on a first come-first serve basis. the clinic stays open until the last patient is seen. >>pam: millions of dollars were slashed from the vallejo unified school district as officials try to make up a shortfall of money coming in from the state. in total, 5.6 million has been cut. class sizes will have to be increased. k-three would jump from 20 students to class to $32 -- 32 students per class. teachers will be required to take five furlough days. we spoke with a former school district employee who says this for her kids. >> they're cutting budgets february and is detrimental to the kids, especially in this neighborhood. these keys are in need of a lot of services. >> there is so much money given to the prison system into the jail system. it is a shame. it seems like the school

system is really suffering. >>pam: the district is also counting buses for children -- cutting buses for children at all elementary schools. parents say is so many children are already struggling in the these cuts will only make matters worse. there is some new and encouraging evidence that the job market is beginning to improve. grant lodes is back with the latest of on the numbers. >>grant: the best numbers we have seen in four years, the number of people applying for unemployment fell to its lowest mark in four years and the labor department released the new numbers today. last week those applications dropped to 340,000. that is the fewest number of applications since march of 2008 right after the great recession started tripling. the decrease in applications for unemployment started last fall. there is a little momentum now in the unemployment rate is down to 8.3%. at its lowest it has been in three years.

this is great news for the economy however the sobering reality is, we have not fully recovered. news flash. almost 13 million are still unemployed into the economy has 5 million fewer jobs than it did before degree recession. >>pam: in the bay area, long lines. a former auto plant worker a job training coordinator says time is of the essence when it comes to getting back to work. because there is no more unemployment insurance, we have to be proactive about assisting them finding employment.
