>>justine: the six defendants accused of beating into gang raping a 60 year-old girl are in a contra costa county court today. this happened outside of the richmond high school homecoming dance in october of 2009. >>james: army staff sergeant robert beall will be charged with 17 counts of murder and six counts of assault and attempted murder for. a u.s. defense attorney says charges will be announced for the likely to face. he is accused of going on a shooting rampage in afghanistan killing 16 people. officials could not say why he is facing 17 murder charges when only 16 deaths were reported. he is being held at fort leavenworth, kansas. officials want a return to afghanistan to face trial there but the military says he will be tried in the u.s.. the incident further strains the already tense relationship between the two countries.

once again go through remote area hoping to find any new evidence that would lead them to sierra. here is video from yesterday, search crews are out there, they're using dogs to detect and small bodies into evidence. they are expanding their search. they found a bag containing clothing sunday afternoon. they waited for thursday to reveal the information and say they needed time to confirm with her family that yes that is her bag and that was our clothing inside. they do not know if she normally carries extra clothing but it is something they have to consider. it is not uncommon for a

teenage girl to bring extra clothes. as far as the volunteers, these people know they're doing. they say there is so much debris that it does make their job quite difficult. >> that includes things like a tire tracks and the footprints. if we could be looking for weapons, clothing, and the number of small things that might be related. the difficulty really is not in finding things. think about the bay area, there is stuff everywhere. the hard start -- the hard part is finding what is pertinent to the case. >>will: the bag was found about 2 mi. from her home. her cellphone was founded maybe a half mile from this location, to places her family says she would not be in at that particular time which complicates the matter. what makes it difficult is the plan to surge as far as a registered sex offenders, there are to order 50 within

get ready for, it will be impacting the area traffic during the memorial day weekend. we are talking about the dumbarton bridge carries it will be shut down in both directions. the closure is scheduled to begin friday, may 25th at 10:00 p.m. it is a closed until 5:00 a.m. on tuesday morning. the cruise will be out there doing seismic retrofit. the obvious alternative is the san mateo bridge. we will be staying on top of this for any developments. >>darya: san francisco's suspended a share from ross mirkirimi reported for pervasive at the hall of justice yesterday. that is a part of his sentence after pleading guilty of one count of domestic violence. it was a misdemeanor count.

the golden gate bridge looks good for 101 northbound and southbound. in the east bay the look at 580 east town heading into dublin, no problems or delays. the south bay freeways look good. the north bay ride is still the late free through marin county on 101 southbound. >>james: a heads up for drivers, the entire dumbarton bridge will be closed for seismic retrofit work. during the closure, caltrans will be replacing a major expansion of the western side of the bridge across all six lanes of traffic. the bridge will be closed from friday may 25th at 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on the following tuesday.
