look at the weather in a few minutes. developing this morning, the coast guard headed by crews from alameda is trying to rescue a group of people on a 60 ft. vessel that was hit by a giant wave on a race around the world. the large waves whipped with communications equipment and the steering mt.. how medical supplies were dropped for, rescue crews had to wait until today. >>ysabel: in oakland, two people were shot on friday evening. both attacks took place on international boulevard. according to police, one of the incidents occurred on an ac transit bus. the second incident, on the 9700 block of international boulevard. all of the victims are expected to survive. police have not released any suspect information.

the lives of these children and teachers, why do it? >> we really need to be able to transform our schools and low performing areas. we need to be able to bring more resources to the schools that we do have. by centralizing students and faculty we are able to bring together the economies of scale. it allows us to invest more heavily in west oakland. we are creating a corps for science, technology, engineering and math. the west oakland community has been historically underserved and it desperately needs something like that. >> this is a suggestion that these schools will be taken now and shopping centers might be put in their place, this is a way of monetizing the property, that one of them will be rented out to the emeryville school. >> that is not a bad thing. emeryville is rebuilding its high school. it is three blocks away from

where this school is located, they need a place for the kids to go to school. we are looking at what is going to happen with the other sites, the board has not made any determination but we have a large number of charter schools and under state law, we have an obligation to offer them proper that we are not using. we are in the middle right now of developing a master plan. the last committee meeting on that will be tuesday night. >> is it possible these sites could end up being sold and that money is within the school district? >> the board has not made any determination or recommendations. at this point every site next year will be used for an educational purpose. >>henry: is this a done deal? >> as far as i'm concerned we have made our decision, we voted in october and we're moving forward.
