college. >> reporter: they say that one goh has shown no remorse. they were going in and out. you can see in the video the crime scene technicians, they went to work on still a crime scene here at the university. the police chief tells us ya he came here with the intention of locating an administrator. and he went through the building shooting people, quote, systematically and randomly. the chief said that he told people to line up. they did not and he started shooting. this is a school that he had attended and a school that he had been expelled from. >> he was upset because of the way he was treated when he was

temperatures are cooler than we're used to. we don't see the cloud cover. they are back into the 40s. as we head into the afternoon, yes, we'll see sunshine but it is deceiving because the temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 50s. here is a look at wind speeds. sustained winds. for those in concord and oakland. they have died down, we're not seeing much interest we're seeing 40s. a colder morning in store. the numbers will drop. it is a chilly morning as we head into the afternoon. no green indicating 50s.

developing news this morning the search for sierra lamar more than two weeks after she disappeared. there are no new leads but tips are keeping investigators busy. >> reporter: the number of tips here at the sheriff's department in the lamar case is 1000. 200 since saturday. and from possible sightings to information about the teen's

this is the car here, police were surrounding it. he lived in san francisco and working nights as a janitor. he was taking nursing classes. and we talked to a friend of his. >> up beat and cheerful. >> reporter: she became friends after he worked as a waiter around the corner from her office. >> always just a pleasure to talk with him. >> because he lived alone in this hotel with his family back home in india, she would invite him to celebrations. >> he was educated and you had the sense he had come here not ambition but a restless soul wanting to color the world.

he came as a buddhist. he was delightful. and he will be part of our thanksgiving. another victim, a hayward woman who graduated from logan hill high school, lydia sim was a nursing student at oikos. they say the family is in shock. >> they were very loving cared for others, put others before herself. amazing sister, amazing daughter. was loved very much. >> she loved taking care of people and parents. she took care of me. >> like i said she loved kids.

she wanted to be a doctor. she was about to graduate. >> how are your parents? >> my mom is hysterical, she cannot believe this is happening. she does not want to believe it like all of us. we have to be strong for her. >> the brother of one of the people shot in the massacre is asking the same question why her. and we report on how season cope with his sister's death. people in the tibet tan community are praying for the lives lost. >> at one of the services was a victim's brother. she was like a daughter. he took care of his sibling since their parents passed and helping her through school. >> i cannot believe she is gone. >> the student came to the u.s.

year-old grace kim. as we report, her co-workers are mourning her sudden and tragic death. >> reporter: employees at this brew pub were morning the death of grace kim. they declined to go on camera but confirm she was one of the victims in the massacre. the manager said she was a good employee and sweet and kind. he said she was part of the grand opening team and been with the restaurant since it opened three years ago by new park mall. co-workers didn't know if she knew the suspect and trying to sort out what happened to the 23-year-old. they say that they're in shock about her death and add she will be missed. her facebook page said she attended foothill high school and lived in union city. >> we have erica standing by.

and the school massacre in oakland. this is the suspect. police are saying that he is cooperating with the investigation but he is not telling them everything they want to know about what happened on monday. and what led up to the shooting. he is being held without bail on suspicion of murder, kidnapping and carjacking. he is expected of opening fire

at oik os university. and police searched for the gun used in the shooting but they have not find it. they are telling us goh is not helicoptering -- helping them. he has given details on motive. they say he was upset, he was being teased. we'll talk more about the victims but we want to go to the scene of the school. and will, are there flowers and things at the school? >> reporter: there is a makeshift memorial. not a big one.

>> he lived in two virginia cities during the last six years. he was edistricted from an apartment complex where he owe $1300. >> he was friendly and coming and chatting with us. and just a little chat here and there. i never would vo thought anything. >> tragedy struck the family when another brother was killed. he struck a boulder in southwest virginia. he was in the state for army special forces training. goh rented a room here in springfield. neighbors had limited dealings with him but were criticized when they heard the connection between their neighborhood and the oakland shooting. >> it is a shock to know that a man that killed seven people. >> yahoo now the suspect is being held without bail on suspicion of murder and kid naping and carjacking.

oakland. a small christian school in oakland. the suspect in the shooting, one goh, is expected to be arraigned. he was kicked out and goh does not appear to be remorsable about the shooting that left dead and three others injured. >> there's a makeshift memorial. let's see what's happening this morning. hi, will. >> reporter: i'll show you the memorial. you can see the brush. it was lighted up. but flowers are here. it should grow throughout the day as more people have easier access to get a little bit closer to the university. you can see yellow tape around this place. there's a police officer right in front to make sure nobody has access to it other than

>> our team coverage continues, searching late into the night. let's go to our reporter jackie. are crews going to be out there, jackie? >> that's what we understand. just east of the oakland airport. you can see the waters here. this is where the divers went into the water here, about 25 volunteers went in here. that's where they suspect the gunman dropped the gun. he talked about the search. >> it's difficult. a gun is not the easiest thing to find. not the most difficult in the world. but it's pretty small. we've got a wide area that we're searching which is why

we've divided into three sections. if the gun is found, they will generally mark it off with something in the water because what you don't want to do is find it and then refind it. so they mark it off and call oakland in and see what they want to do about the evidence collection. >> obviously, it's kind of a needle in a hay stack. hopefully, they can go ahead and find this weapon and use it as evidence. we expect to see more volunteers and searchers out here at some point. >> did the suspect say the gun was there? >> reporter: it is my understanding that the suspect has been cooperating as far as this goes, so they're looking in a very specific area. it seems logical he told them it was here or this is where he threw the weapon. >> okay, thank you, mark. they gathered to mourn

those who were killed at the memorial. >> reporter: hundreds of mourners turned out in oakland at baptist church to remember the seven victims of monday's shooting. after the ceremony, a groupover people and administrators gathered to console each other. many were very grief stricken. they would not speak to the media. we spoke to one teacher that said one of her classes was moved and that's why her life was saved. she was supposed to be in the school that morning. many of the victims' coworkers showed up with t-shirts memorializing their friends. kron 4 news. >> stay with kron 4. you can view all the stories an

people. yahoo has had years of flat revenue growth. the layoffs are expected to span several departments. and u.s. stock features pointed sharply lower, 19 points with yesterday's slide. the federal reserve made the announcement. they were worried about a slowdown in hiring but inlikely to buy more bonds to boost the economy. the dow closed yesterday, features down 90. putting the dow add 13,042. thank you for waking up with kron 4 news. a little cooler. traffic is nice and light. right now in fremont, it's 53 degrees. only a high of 59 today.

5:14 right now. clean-up after eighteen tornadoes touched down causing millions in damage. you could see how rough the weather was. things starting to fly from the wicked winds. you can imagine how big those things are and they've been talked about. no reports of deaths or injuries. thousands of people without power. more than 600 homes were damaged and during the height of the storm, all the flights at dallas fort worth airport were grounded and moved into shelters. they were huge. there was hail coming down at the airport and even this morning. there are about 500 flights and airplanes damaged that just twisted metal from the strong winds. jesse? >> you just talked about the hail from the plane. i want to show and talk about

that with the texas tornadoes. check this out. lasted about ten minutes. the plane eventually did go back to the gate and the flight was canceled because they had to inspect the plane for damage. showing the widespread damage from these tornadoes that ripped through the area. you could see the roofs have just been ripped off of homes. these places are unlivable now. showing how violent and slow- moving the storms were. we're trying to still figure out how many tornadoes touched down because the national weather service is going to head to the area today to survey the damage as we look at

the live pictures and watching going through neighborhoods, it's always amazing when you watch tornado damage as you see one house destroyed. one barely even touched and the camera really showing us what happened when tornadoes ripped through yesterday. houses torn apart, cars flipped over, people's belongings all over the place. we'll check later on. >> these storms expected to move farther to the east. james fletcher watching our national weather forecast. >> storms are crawling. now centered over louisiana, back push in here and see how intense the storm systems are. all the yellows and reds popping up. obviously watching for any potential tornadoes to be spawned by those cells. we have flash flood warnings throughout the state.

impacted not only there but here too with the flight delays. most of california, the stormy weather is up to the north and then there was some still out over tahoe not long ago, but things are starting to taper off. temperatures, that's going to be our story for the day. it will be another mild one. no wet weather. we see temperatures on the cool side as a result of the clear skies out there. 46 in concord and in antioch. here's where the temperatures go in the future. noontime, widespread 50s. so we'll warm up in the low to mid 50s at this point and then advance the clock at 3:00, indicate 60 degree weather. here's a map showing that. 61 for san jose and across the

north bay too. closer to the water you are, the more likely you see upper 50s. that's the way the forecast is breaking out. here's your seven-day around the bay. we're warming up to the weekend. lots of sunshine. easter sunday looking pretty good too with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s potentially. looks like we'll keep it mild for the next couple of days of next week. at 5:19, what do you see? >> we're not tracking hot spots, but this morning on the bay area bridges. the wind advisories in place for every bridge except the golden gate were put in place at midnight. when i spoke with the chp, it would be after the shift change to dispatch officers. the wind is on the san mateo

bridge. it's not in effect right now, but during the morning, they'll be updating the advisories. at the san francisco bay bridge, there's this delays into the cities and at the toll plaza. there's in back-up. looking at the golden gate bridge, an easy ride here with an easy trip southbound. i saw crews there this morning already configuring the span in the southbound direction. let's take a look at the maps around the bay areas. first at the east bay. freeways here look good. no problems. south bay also looks good. here's the 580 ride westbound into dublin and you'll see there are no problems. for the north bay, the commute is fine. on 101 southbound, the drive time still 22 minutes from nevada to the golden gate bridge.

they're still dealing with the tornadoes. that's one of our developing stories that we're covering live this morning. lots of damage and flights canceled this morning. lots of planes have been torn apart like houses too, 600 houses looking like this or worse with just splinters and nothing left. tractor trailers screwing all over the place. maybe 18 twisters that touch down. we'll be back with more. goh had a tuition dispute with the university that he was kicked out. oikos university, a makeshift memorial is set up although the campus is still considered a crime scene. >> reporter: let's show you the makeshift memorial. not a very big one, but established because yesterday, police officers wouldn't even let the public get this close. you talk about this being a crime scene, you see yellow tape around. it will be two days since the rampage and this place is pretty much frozen in time. you can see the cars over here, probably belongs to the victims as well as the members that were able to get out but because they're still processing all of this, they're not allowing anybody inside. here's video we got yesterday. the reason they're not letting anybody inside is because they need to collect as much evidence as they possibly can.

people walking through there in white suits, hazmat suits, to make sure they don't contaminate any evidence. they need to recover the handgun. they're building a case. without that handgun, perhaps, the defense attorneys will be able to punch a hole in the case. this university will be closed indefinitely. try to talk to public information officer yesterday as well as the police officer on guard this morning. they cannot tell me when this university will reopen, so in the meantime, it looks like it will be closed indefinitely. back to you. >> all right. we'll check back. focus on the victims now. there were seven people killed. one was a man.

police here. the san francisco police department also included in that search. they are really hoping they're able to find this weapon. we talked to j.d. they will son from the county sheriff's office and he talked about the search. >> finding any object is difficult. a gun is not the easiest thing to find. not the most difficult in the world, but it's pretty small. we've got a wide area that we're searching which is why we have divided into three sections. if a gun is found, they generally will mark it off with something that's in the water because what you don't want to do is find it and then refind it, so they mark it off and at that point will call oakland in and see what they want to do about the evidence collection.

wounding three others. the 43 year old confessed to the shooting and is not showing remorse. the motive? revenge. teased and bullied, felt like he was mistreated at oikos university. he bought a handgun and started plotting this revenge. it was in part because of his broken english. there was a grudge against the school that was related to a tuition dispute but also serious money problems unrelated to school tuition. chased by creditors and evicted from his virginia apartment in 2008 before relocating to the bay area. just one year ago, goh's

weather. look at that lightning. this is at the airport yesterday and it was accompanied by giant balls of hail and a lot of planes were damaged by that and they're having to deal with that. planes are going to other airports because of it. this is something still going on this morning, affecting travel and also obviously doing a lot of clean-up in texas. luckily, we have no reports of anyone being hurt or killed in the tornado activity. >> weather here in the bay area. let's get more on the forecast with easter weekend. yes, mark, we've got a live look here at the san mateo bridge closer to the 6:00 hour. let's walk through this. 8:00 a.m., cool start. a lot of the temperatures in the 40s. by noontime, we'll see mostly sunny skies between a mix of 50s and 60s. but more inland, you may run into some 60s so that will be good for you. breezy but dry.

we are setting ourselves up for what looks to be a nice-looking weekend ahead. let's take a quick look at temperatures and where we see them. san francisco, same for you. upper 40s in san jose. fehrfairfield, may join fairfield in the upper 30s. let's talk temperatures by noontime. widespread 50s and then by about 2:00 or 3:00 this afternoon, we'll see some more 60s on the map. mainly, they'll be confined to the inland locations, to the south, to the east, and the north. look at the highs for today, you'll notice that's where we see the 60s -- 60 to 61 degrees. up by antioch and santa rosa.
