first of all, springtime. what's the first thing we should do? >> i think when it comes to spring cleaning, you want to look at the exterior of your house. i suggested you start in the place --est anxious. look at the exterior ofier home, your garden. shed or garage and see where the biggest place is and drill into there because once you tackling biggest project first, you will get a tremendous sense of momentum and relief i always suggested that you take "before" photos and use a timer and set the timer between 15 minutes and three hours. even if the project is larger than three hours, you have, when the timer goes off, you have completed something successfully and that will tell you -- i would say the last thing you did, you will be that much more engaged and ready to do it again. >> i cannot tell you how many times i have started projects,

worked for awhile on them, didn't quite get them done and then ended up reclutterring on top of the partially cluttered project. >> three hours is not enough for me. >> if every task as a beginning or an end, the end is actually the timer. garage won't get done in one setting. set yourself up to think that you work and work until you are exhausted and then you think you need to change. that's when the "before" changes pictures come in, even though you won't feel any difference, if you look at the pictures, you will see you made some change. >> >> reporter: you are saying, folks don't try to do this yourself >> any time you can get some help, it's a great idea to engage family members or friends of. i always suggested people try to swap with a friend, do your home one weekend and a friend's home another weekend. you bring people into the equation that is objective and

let's go ahead and get the forecast for today. >> >> good morning to you. i kind of preferred yesterday. take a look at this. you can barely see the bridge. yesterday, i was jealous of people pretty comfortable sitting in there. areas of touchy drizzle, where you can see a lot of sunshine. cooler temperatures from yesterday and we'll see the low clouds push in again. so, taking a look at the temperatures for awhile, 52, 65 in san jose. 56 degrees, currently, in santa rosa and hayward. a chilly 48 in half moon bay.

a little warmer -- getting to only 1 degrees in concorde. 84 in livermore. 79 degrees in sunnyvale. 76 degrees and a lot cooler along the coast. coming in at mid-60s for half moon bay. forecast coming up, including a chance of showers mid-week. more on that later. >> >> the end of this week is going to bring the closure of doyle drive to replace the main approach to the gold codden gate britain. the traffic will be rerouted next weekend and school buses will come in and -- crews will start to tear down the concrete. this is a $1.1 billion project. >> >> joining me where all of the dust will be flying. it's not only a safety hazard, but a health hazard as well.

tribute. >> kron4 news. >> >> now we want to turn to the missing teen case. people signing up once again at burnett elementary school, taking a look at the video of the volunteer effort where nearly 200 people went out to look for sierra. she has been missing for more than a month. extended search through the santa claira sheriff's office. saturdays, official's search easily the most ambitious, today, outfitted for a long day of bush whacking in 90-degree heat. more than 100 sheriff's deputies along with search and rescue dogs battled terrain -- >> there is so much poison oak and black berries, aer is -p dog is helpful. if we can't get in, she can pretty much be sure there is nothing there. we are recovering some of the

tomorrow, suspended san francisco sheriff faces a panel that will question his conduct in connection with the guilty plea in the domestic abuse case involving his wife, elan in. city officials are looking for evidence that he tried to diswade people from cooperating with people in the place. the mayor wants his former campaign manager to turn over her cell phone records and testify in the misconduct proceeding. her lawyer said the phone records are outside of the scope of what mayor lee is entitleled to >> if you are looking for something to do in san francisco, san francisco cherry blossom festival begins in japantown with a big parade that kicks off this afternoon. it was a packed event yesterday with thousands enjoying the beautiful weather as well as the great food. live music and everything cultural as well. that continues today.

that's kind of surprising, isn't it? >> we -- let's take a look outside this morning. san francisco, halfway in the sunlight and a little bit in the fog. i like the warm conditions. some areas of sunshine there, waking up to morning fog, expecting cooler temperatures in the afternoon. we'll see the morning fog tomorrow as well as areas of patchy drizzle, then, we do have a storm heading our way, wednesday night, pushing into thursday. looking at current temperatures, 50 degrees in half moon bay. a little warmer, a lot of 50s out there. 64 in napa. 62 in concorde. mid-60s through san jose. taking a look at your afternoon highs, 76 in santa rosa.

79 in napa. we are seeing the 80s. 79 expected in sunnyvale and a lot cooler along the coast. 70 degrees expected downtown san francisco for those of you heading to the cherry blossom festival. taking a look, we have a cooling trend kicking in as well as showers heading our way. we are expecting warmer temperatures. once again, temperatures rebounding, upper 60s for the bay and low 60s for the coast. back to you. >> > at least 50 patients took advantage -- on a normal day, a third of those patients, but those waiting in line included the homeless and uninsured.

attorneys are saying andrew young was using much of the nearly $1 million in payments to build a dream home in north carolina. most of the money was provided by wealthy supporters. prosecutors are saying that it was used to hide edwards' pregnant mistress and edwards is denying knowing about those funds. >> >> this week, president obama is taking his message of affordable education to colleges across the country. in his weekly addressed he charactered republicans as ahind doctorrance it to that. he wants a law extended cutting interest on federal loan programs for low-income and middle income undergrads >> i have met so many americans that are out there pounding the pavement, looking for work, only to discover they need more skills. i have met a lot of employers woe are looking for workers who have the skills they need.

can't figure out how we are making money." someone tried to explain how the derivatives work and i couldn't understand it. i'm fairly intelligent. i'm motivated to understand it, but i couldn't. >> >> reporter: the problem is our caveman brain has not caught up with the extent -- >> we will not develop commented features, tonight and i need them tomorrow. it takes millions of years to develop it. >> >> reporter: that ain't going to happen. we are stuck with the health care system. we are stuck with traffic. how do we deal with that? >> one of the things we have to realize is that the definition of complexity, there are more wrong choices than there are right ones and the number of wrong choices are owe potentially getting longer. that means the odds of me

picking the right choices are getting worst. . >> reporter: you are making me depressed. what am i supposed to do? >> i cover this to a large extent -- we have methods for dealing with high failure rate environments. that's what we are up against. not just us, but our leaders. we have nancy pelosi putting her hand on the health care bill and saying "i'm really glad we passed it, now we can read it." do we need any other evidence we are crumbling under complexity. i wrote this book -- we will be able to use some of the methods we have. -- . you are about to tell me we have run out of time.

heading our way. before we go there, more lovely weather from yesterday. a lot of lovely pictures we have shot. boaters, expected to be sunny and warm. >> >> one family if san francisco, their boat stranded when the motor finally stopped. family of four called 9-1-1. they say they were a little rattled but they were doing okay. a special memorial for victims of the deadly yacht accident off the bay area coast where one person was killed. four others remain left at sea and are presumed dead. their boat hit by two powerful waves and that resulted in their yacht hitting the rocks where it remained stranded, today. sometime this week, a salvage crew will be removing that boat the vessel is located on the southeastern part of the islands, extremely difficult place to get to by boat.

missing morgan hill teen sierra la mar. she disappeared more than a month ago. yesterday, an extensive search went on. last week, investigators say lab tests generated some leads on items found near her home. saturday's official search for la par was easily the most ambitious to date. sheriff esbatled rugged terrain fraught with many hazards. esbat -- local search teams have logged 6,000 hours and counting. >> >> it's a statistical game, a probability game. we have to figure out the right places to go look and the fema are searching have to make certain to see things. there is always the risk that

because this area will be shut down. people will be literally driving down here on the roadway. you can see the center dividers that will be separating people out to go to the brink. this will be the new reality for three years after the three days are taken to tear all of this down. construction, they will be doing some today. they will be using a lot of water, tons of it to keep the ducks from away from here. but people that live over here, the noise, they say, will be an issue. poem will be taking vacation to

we are taking this live look at san jose, a lot of sunshine out there. certainly a different shot from the golden gate bridge. we are waking up to morning fog, expecting cooler temperatures compared to yesterday. we'll see the morning fog yesterday. as well as areas of patchy fog and we have a storm heading our way mid-week. mr. >> taking a look at current conditions. 61 in santa rosa, 56 in san francisco. 64 in napa. 61 in freemont and a warmer 68 degrees in san jose. as for your afternoon highs, no 90s, but 70s and 80s for the south bay. 79 in sunnyvale. 84 in san jose. east bay inland. similar conditions there. 82 degrees expected for

>> it wasn't that long ago that the word "fracking" was not even used. it is a big issue, fracking is the process by which oil in the -- water in the ground attracts oil. first of all, can you explain fracking? >> you take chemicals, water, under high pressure, you pump it into that and hope to create the fractures in the ground that makes the oil so much

easier. in california, we have heavy oil that it's an issue. >> the problem is that there are potentials for pollution, here? water and chemicals? >> correct, although there have not been any problems in california, they tell me they have been fracking for 50 years in some form, it has obviously become higher tech. the problem is that it has been accidents in other states. that's why it got my attention. gasline came out with academy award a couple of years ago and we realized there is no disclosure, no information that the public gets or the agency or the ledges lay tors get on what is going on. >> reporter: >> right, so your bill is trying to at least let people know what is going on. can you explain how that would work? >> well, after a frack occurs, within 60-days, you have to provide that information to department of oil, gas, it's called dogger here in

california and also, you have to put it on publicly or privately operated website >> and we -- we just had a picture of one up there. >> and it should be friendly. a lot of changes have occurred in the website, but it should be any person can go there. they can go to ventura county and look at the map and zoom in and find out whether the chemical compounds they are using -- how much water is being used. what are you doing with the water after the frack is over. it's meaningful information for us. >> reporter: "meaningful" what kind of risk is it from fracking? >> the problem is water contamination. we have our ground water people drink -- if you have -- one of the casings is compromised an there is a spend, we want to make sure all of the information is out to the agency. >> reporter: if it stays there,
