in new york, occupy a wall street rallied and marched from union square to lower manhattan. this is video from what those demonstrators were doing. they urged students to skip school and urgently to skip work in support of the movement. in seattle, many demonstrations there turned violent. protesters dressed in black smashed windows of businesses including a wells fargo bank. a federal courthouse was defaced and cars were smeared with hank. rioters or separated from the peaceful protesters and rallies that took place nearby. in portland, huge crowds took to the streets while police in riot gear kept a close eye on the demonstrations. occupiers marched downtown to reclaim a foreclosed home in an effort to show with they are calling corporate greed.

officers made a number of arrests there. an earlier rally was a little more peaceful. an los angeles there were more protests from a day, demonstrators swarmed downtown l.a. calling for immigration reform and education for everyone. traffic in the area had to be shut down. this demonstration was peaceful but a different protesting near lax led to the arrest of at least 10 people for blocking airport traffic. >>james: the u.s. was not the only country that saw made a protests. it is a holiday and more than 80 countries. >>catherine: and london may day marches served as a rallying cry against high unemployment and deep wage cuts. faugh in greece, thousands of workers and students marched peacefully to the parliament building in

the drive time is 8-9 minutes from the foot of the maze. on the san mateo bridge, no problems or delays. nice and easy conditions coming out of the north bay. all is well in the south bay with the green on your runway sensors indicating speeds over 50 mi. an hour. >>james: on to news, there were five men described by federal authorities as anarchists have been charged with plotting to bomb an ohio bridge. catherine heenan is joining us once again telling us that there were unknowingly doing business with an undercover fbi agent. >>catherine: this is the bridge near cleveland that authorities say was the target of eight bomb plot. if the fbi says and these

this is video from a cafe in oakland. demonstrators eventually made their way in and they had to be removed. they were mad at the diner for not shutting down before the protest. in oakland to take a looks. paint splattered on the windows in at least one window was cracked. a lot has to be done to get the city back to normal. some businesses in oakland prepare for the worst. this big of america boarded up windows before protesters into to the streets. we have an update on the number of people off arrested in the demonstrations.

some people came in here for breakfast and then went to protest at the school. that upsets me. it is a public school. and they're yelling and outside, trying to disrupt school. that makes me angry. >>justine: kron4 crews were on the scene in oakland at broadway and 15th when police grabbed a man, holding him down while keeping others the way. this confrontation led police to send in canisters of tear gas and maureen kelly was in the heart of all of this. >> i am at the corner of 14th in the broadway where tear gas has just been deployed. i had tears running down my

face. my throat is burning. this is all because of a violent confrontation between demonstrators and police. a lot of people are walking around covering their faces. >>james: gabe slate shows us the massive protests is that took over market street. >>gabe: janitors and retail workers were protesting against westfield and walked east down market street to join another protest at montgomery and market street. the march shutdown market street in both directions. police escorted the march with motorcycles. traffic was a complete

as we turn our attention back to the day planner, by 9:00 a.m. we will still be dealing with windy conditions in spots with temperatures in the '40's. into the afternoon we will see plenty of sunshine and mostly blue skies around the entire bay area. afternoon highs will be cooler with most locations in the '60s. we did mention is a little bit cooler this morning, in addition we have rooms -- winds to deal with. pretty windy conditions for inland spots. as we check our temperatures will go into the afternoon you'll notice many 60s in the south bay.

satellite and radar shows clear conditions over the bay area right now. we are tracking a storm system and the pacific northwest bringing the chance for showers tomorrow, a 30 percent chance although mostly contained to the north bay. by friday, more sunshine and a warming by the weekend. we will continue with the warm weather as we start the next work week. >>james: a quick check on traffic, there are no hot spots. the major roadways are moving pretty smoothly. westbound 80 is nice and light from oakland and san francisco.

first >>catherine: he is a two year old golden retriever of but one thing he cannot retrieve is his sights. this is what he has seen since birth. tanner is a blind dog but now has a guide dog. not only is tanner blind, he has epileptic seizures that caused him to lose control of his bodily functions. after his adoptive owner died, his seizures got worse. a retriever rescue group brought him here to this animal hospital in tulsa and oklahoma. although the situation looked bleak, so did the solution. >> but this was in straight brought in with a gunshot wound. flashy and tanner bonded.

the scene were occupy protesters have taken over an abandoned church. jackie? we may not have a microphone up and running yet. we will try to get that in a moment. there are 200 people inside the building. this is the same church that back in early april occupy protesters took over. it is owned by the archdiocese of san francisco. it looks as though things are starting to keep up.

>>jackie: i am on church street, this is the art size is building that was taken over by occupy protestors last night. about three minutes ago, two dozen police officers in riot gear came rushing out and started heading into the building. you concede that it is completely surrounded. golf street is completely shut off. you can see police from the san francisco police department lining the area, there are at least one dozen officers inside the building right now. the last time this building was taken over, you can see one of the protestors peeking out of the window, this was taken over in april. police are cutting away the chain-link fence at the back of the building. dozens more entered through the front of the building.

the defense is down, about one dozen or so officers at to the building from that direction. april 2nd of last month, that is when they took over the building. about 200 of them to go for the building. obviously, the san francisco police department moved and with a large show of force. they have broken into the back fence making an entry into this two-story building and putting a spotlight on the building as they entered a full right here. more police have now arrived. police are in full riot gear to evict occupiers

a large police presence, and they appear to building and on occupy protesters have taken over a vacant building owned by the archdiocese. ethan's the police in their right here, they do seem poised to move in that at this moment there are standing back across the street setting up a perimeter. there are anywhere between 5100 occupy protesters inside the building. the protesters do know that police are outside. we will continue to march to the story and be back with more.

been any communication? >>jackie: the only communication i have seen was about five minutes ago, one of the protesters opened at that window and said his figures out making a peace sign and said, we want to come out peacefully. at that point he was told to close the window. other than that, there has been no communication. >>darya: he said, we want to come out peacefully into the police said close the window? >>jackie: correct. >>darya: there were no bullhorns or boards to surrender but clearly protesters know that they are surrounded.
