a fuel spill currently blocking member for lane. roadway sensors are not showing any backups or delays. the trust's southbound to 80, another sig alert has been issued. a cement truck spilled fuel in some of the lanes. that ramp is currently blocked off. on the approach to the bay bridge, no problems for the ride out of oakland into the city. more traffic maps show great conditions for the east the freeways, no problems for southbound 680, was down 580 and as we turn our attention to marin county, the riders is 24 minutes out of novato into the city. >>justine: new metering lights are now in place for drivers merchant not to tease out of. caltrans is warning of

possible traffic delays. this is all part of a multimillion dollar project to reduce safety and congestion. these are the new metering lights near the 11th street on ramp. alejandra cerball shows us what it is like to drive on it. >>alejandra: i drove on to the on ramp to the 280 during rush hour. when i came to woodstock ii cars in front of me. i waited a few seconds for the cars to go, when the light turned green, it was my turn. the new metering lights allowed one car per green light. the connector on ramp to the south on 280 allows to cars. the backup a very stirring after the commute and caltrans has people will have to adjust to the lights. the california department of transportation plans activity through to 25 new meters over the next four years to reduce traffic. critics say the lights are not necessary.

the big rig is still at the scene. they do not know what caused the driver to lose control. it will continue to be here for another 30-45 minutes as they try to lift the big rig from this location to get it off of the highway. because traffic is still live there is not a big concern for the backup. the collision was so strong, he ran into those yellow barrels and a smash those. that has to be cleaned up as well. of the headlights are cars headed northbound.

>>justine: there is a traffic mess in oakland this morning. will tran is live on the off ramp of 880 near high street with details. what is the update? >>will: right now, they're still working on cleaning up the diesel the spilled from the big rig. it happened around 1:30 a.m.. there in the process of trying to back off of the freeway. you can see the concrete barrier to the left of the

big rig to protect caltrans workers. it will be here for the next 30-45 minutes. we do not know if this was caused by steve or driver error. nonetheless, when the driver lost control, most of the big rig was sitting literally on a concrete barrier. it's once they back the big rig of of the highway. they're going to drive it on to the high street exit. that means they will have to shut down the on ramp.

connected to northbound 85, we have reports of spilled fuel in the roadway. it looks like those lanes will be blocked for some time. you could probably use the foothill expressway as an option. on the approach to the bay bridge, traffic is moving pretty well coming from all three of the approaches. on the san mateo bridge, no problems or delays. here is a live look at the golden gate. southbound 101 shows a little bit of fog on the stand. for the most part, a smooth and easy ride for those of you coming out of marin county. here is a live look at whether conditions from the mt. tam cam. for the most part it is a clear start to the morning. we do have reports of coastal fog that will burn off as we headed to the rest of the morning. as we walked into temperatures it is relatively warm.

fortunately, there were already doing freeway extensions, such a concrete barrier has already been up. that is allowing workers to clean of the diesel. this happened at 1:30 a.m. when the driver of the big rig for whatever reason to either succeed or leave change did lose control of the big rig. he hit some plastic barriers filled with water in the sand and then kept going ultimately ending up on a concrete barrier. fortunately, the driver was not injured. i learned that he was carrying a meal at the time. this was a private contractor. you can see the headlights coming in my direction, northbound 880. so far, so good. unfortunately, it is on its wheels. the plant to shut down the

high street exit to allow workers to get the big rig off of the exit. right now it looks like they're making good progress, even faster than the chp thought. >>darya: to be cleared this is not on a highway, it is on the off ramp? >>will: here is the exit right here. it is open. right there is technically the freeway. over the past couple months thick concrete barriers in place as a part of the freeway expansion project. those two lanes were already not available to the public. that is why the workers were allowed to quickly move in and did did not have to shut down the freeway. fortunately for the traveling public, this happened on the two lanes that were already available to them. >>darya: do you think this

will affect traffic? >>george: it is likely to be a visual hazard for northbound motorists if they are not able to get out of there before the commute gets into full swing. it will be at least another hour or two before the potential occurs for northbound 880. >> we have another hot spot in the south bay. this is the ride on 880 northbound. we are still showing green on the runway sensors. our other hot spot is in the south bay. it is on the connecting ramp from southbound interstate 280 coming out of the los altos hills and turning north on highway 85. again, it attracted to and spilled fuel. as a consequence, the ramp has been shut down. i spoke with the california highway patrol who told me it is likely to be some time before this is cleared. technically, this is not the commute direction of 280 or highway 85. most of the traffic is going

there were last seen at six flags discovery kingdom on tuesday on a school field trip. both teenagers attended middle school and sonoma. police believe that they could be in san francisco. >> in san ramon, one man is dead after a gun shot inside of a jewelry store that he was robbing with three other men. police will must say who fired the shot, if it was an employee or the owner, but the suspect was shot. he ran out of the store and collapsed in the middle of the street. the other three suspects got away. police are looking for a mid-90s four-door white sedan.

>>darya: san francisco police this morning are looking for the taxi driver who struck a man in the head with a tire iron during a dispute over the affair. this was reported early wednesday morning near venice and a silver streak. police say the 25 year old man and friend had gotten into the taxi cab and the 2100 block of chestnut street in the marina. they were in the process of getting dropped off when they started arguing with the cab driver over the affair. the cab driver went to the back of the vehicle, took out a tire iron and struck the man cause any serious injury to his right eye. the cab driver is an asian man between 30 and 35 years old swing 150 lbs..

listing. >>craig: you are looking at 80,000 lbs. of a tractor- trailer that was carrying dried or powdered cement. it overturned on the northbound connector. you can see, it is over on its side. it is so heavy, as standard equipment will not work to pull this upgrade. he was only going about 45 mi. per hour and felt a strange shift in the trailer. the off ramp will be shut down for at least two more hours at best. anyone heading in this direction will want to avoid this ramp. it is one to be a mess at the height of rush hour. >>mark: this is a big connector ramp. >>george: as we take a look, this is from southbound to 80 on to northbound highway 85. this is technically not the

commute direction but it is for anyone who drives that way. you will want to use the foot hill expressly instead of using the connecting ramp from south to 80-north 85. it is quite a visual hazard. on the nimitz, we still have problems with an overturned rate. this is the freeway. there are no lanes on the freeway plot. this is the construction area adjacent to the freeway. that is where the truck drove through, into a construction area before it tipped on to the guardrail and stilled its diesel. the problem we're likely to encounter is here at the off ramp because they may need

to close the ramp down just a little bit later. this work normally continues on northbound 880. it should not have too big of an impact if they manage to get it out of there in the next hour or so. i will show you once more of a traffic maps, the location of this incident. green on the roadway sensors right now means currently, there are no delays. let's get a check on whether with erica. >>erica: right now we are looking at clear conditions overlooking the bay bridge. it is a clear start for the most part. we have a little bit of coastal fog that will burn off as we head into the next few hours. it is relatively warm with a good mix of the '50s and low 60s for places like antioch. as we headed to the afternoon, future cast 4 is expecting that we will see an abundance of '80s by

lunchtime, 60s along the coast in the '70s for the peninsula and east bay locations. as the advanced the clock you'll see the red filling in indicating a potential for '90s along with delta, livermore valley of portions of the north bay. if your 7 day around the bay forecast does show warm conditions today. it is expected to be the warmest day of the week. '90s inland, seventies around the bay and upper 60s for the coast. relatively warm weather tomorrow. by saturday and sunday, more in the way of cloud cover. >>darya: in the east bay, more than two dozen people are charged with a drug trafficking ring involving marijuana. earlier this month, authorities seized more than $1 million worth of marijuana from at least 14 indoor growing operations.
