all the police have launched a long-term investigation into a violent game, they're known as the burnout family and they are involved in illegal gun possession, drugs and fraudulent credit card activity 44 people were arrested in one of the largest wiretapping investigation in oakland history. 22 guns were seized along with machines used to make freak--fake credit cards. >>anchor: monday afternoon's 65 your own robert rorick a pre-split--a priest appeared before a judge in this complaint he is said to have sexually assaulting three children over the course of 20 years.

in the case with san francisco man accused of beating a retired priest, william lynch in the red tie told the interest that father lender raped him and his little brother back in 1974 at the time he was 7 and his brother was only 4 years old. he said that the abuse destroyed his life. prosecutors say that he attacked the priest in 2010 at a time home and he has admitted to punching the priest. as a rob fladeboe reports the case is in the hands of the jewelry--the jury. >>anchor: in closing arguments the attorney reiterated that lynch is the real victim and the only for justice to be served is to find him not guilty. >> i try to show them that realistically, this is a case where one person came in and told the truth and specifically told the truth the other one was a coward

into the afternoon high temperatures the green starts to pull back meeting the majority of the bay area is in the '70s and '80s and we could see some nineties for some of the warmest and then spots. breaking down those numbers, we have 80's for the most part sunnyvale coming in at 86 degrees. yesterday for the most part we were seeing plenty of '70s but that is not the case today. >> erica: walnut creek will be about 90 degrees. as we turn our attention towards the e shores it looks like we will have low '70s here 81 on tap for navato in petaluma and now you're seven day around the bay forecast shows tomorrow could be the warmest day of the week. in fact this is perfect timing, that is fourth of july we could hold on to the '90s inland, mid- 70s around the bay and upper 60s along the coast.

thursday morning we will continue with the trend on friday and then check out the weekend as one of the warming trend with a lot of locations sitting in the upper 80s. over in the traffic center i am not much rain in the hot spots on the freeway. of course we do have the fire still in san francisco around bayshore boulevards. at the approach to the bay bridge toll plaza we have smooth and easy conditions with no metering lights to deal with a new top speeds are at the incline and across the upper deck. over at the san mateo bridge your drive is 14 minutes from end to end. we do have a little bit of fog sitting on the golden gate south bound 101 and before the most part it is pretty smooth and easy for those coming out of marin county. on the traffic maps we do have a fire in san francisco however we are checking out of the freeways and there are no problems to report. we are currently accident free along the nimitz freeway. you will see a lot

degree readings for antioch and fairfield fleming with the '90s for pittsburg, walnut creek and castro valley. it looks like we will keep it in the '70s for the shores. downtown san francisco have an afternoon high of 71 degrees and 63 for ocean beach. your kron4 seven day around the bay forecast shows tomorrow, the warmest day of the week we will notice patchy fog in the morning and in the afternoon as we head into the next couple of days. it looks like temperatures could bump back up once again as we head into the weekend. >> justine: thank you erica, and hit on a crash, one driver dead and the other takes off on foot. the driver turned himself in he will be built on charges of felony hit and run and vehicular manslaughter. we had a chance to talk with the parents of the victim we began with teresa estacio who tells us why the suspect says that he left the scene of the deadly accident. >>anchor: it was a violent

collision and the damage was severe see for yourself. this is all that was left of the red pickup truck. the young man lost control of his white truck slumped off the road and struck the other vehicle. it was just after midnight and he was heading south a witness says that he saw harmon check on the driver of the red truck identified as a 17 year-old and then harmon took off. the 17 year-old was pronounced dead at the scene they say later harmon contacted authorities they brought him in for interrogation and during the three hours of interrogation he told the officers why he fled. this is the chp spokesperson. >> he is on probation for drug charges so that was one of the considerations for him leaving the scene.

>>anchor: this is harmon being taken away to be booked on two counts felony hit and run as well as vehicular manslaughter authorities did not say whether or not harmon said he was drinking or using a controlled substance at the time of the crash but they are looking into that as they put together a time line of his actions prior to the crash. if he had been under the influence he could face additional charges. >> justine: the family of a teenager that daughter still in shock about what happened his mother and stepfather only spoken thus--reggie kumar. >>anchor: the 17 year-old was a waiter and his family restaurant he worked late shift and was on his way home when the accident happened. his mother is in disbelief that her little boy is gone and his stepfather cannot believe the driver left the scene after the collision.

investigating a shooting and stabbing that hacked at alden smith how--house early saturday someone stabbed him and he is expected to be o.k. but they found out that saturday's party is not the first time that deputies have been called to his house. >>anchor: there was a lot of chaos early saturday morning when deputies arrived they found three victims to of them had been shot alden smith was stabbed but this is not the first time that deputies have been called to this location. neighbors sounded often complain to us over the weekend so i spent monday digging. what i found came in the video like this and it more information this is a video posted two weeks ago in it was alden smith there was a number of rappers and women in bikinis

>> james: now to the latest on the wildfires burning in colorado firefighters estimate that the waldo canyon fire will burn for about another two weeks. the damage in central colorado is huge, 18,000 a. have burned so far and 350 homes are destroyed. many of them looked like what you see on your screen. firefighters are having a hard time reaching some of the hot spot. strong winds and high temperatures are not helping. the fire is about 55 percent contained. meanwhile, firefighters are helping out from the air force base. the 18 member hot spot crew was deployed. one of the problems that was complicating things a was people looting. >> for those that may be

contemplating thinking about burglarizing homes even in the thicket of hopi of pack your bags. we intend to evacuate you from our community and we intend on doing that for many years. >> james: investigator still not sure how the fire started over one week ago. >> justine: pg&e says there is a priority list of 239 sections of gas power lines that the company plans on testing and replacing. they say they're not considered at risk there are identified as pipelines that could eventually have problems some may have to be replaced and some may need to be tied to attested to help find any faults. >> basically we close off any section of pipeline and then take the gas outfit with water and pump the water up to a pressure that is over with the pipeline would ever operate at with the gas. and that will identify any weakness. if there is a weakness in the pipe that will cause a

problem. >> justine: 46 mi. of pipeline have been identified some sections are 1 ft. long and others are thousands of feet long. pg&e says it will be replaced this year or next year. >> erica: the morning and now it is actually warming up around the bay area as you head into the afternoon it looks like we could see a couple of '90s for the warmest inland locations. you will certainly notice the warm-up along the coastline. some locations will be in the upper 60s. right now looks like we have some patchy fog situated along the coastline and relatively clear conditions through out the heart of the bay area. all the low clouds that we see will burn off we simply of temperatures for the most part sitting in the '70s and '80s. it looks like we will hold on to those clear conditions as the head into the evening. a look at some of the numbers neighborhood by neighborhood waking up to 53 degrees in downtown san francisco 55 for those in

oakland and concord. your satellite and radar shows and a befog situated along the coastline. you will notice that we can up this morning i have not noticed any drizzling associated with the cloud coverage and the fall. we have mostly sunny conditions and temperatures around the seasonal average. we will hold on to that weather pattern for the next few days. we could be in store for a warmup as we transition into the weekend. there is only to speak of just sunshine. by 12:00 p.m. we have '60s and most of the bay area sitting in the '70s. we could see some 80's for some of the inland areas. as we push the clock in closer to the afternoon by about 3:00 p.m. the red starts to fill in on your screen indicating the potential for some nineties. i do not think we will see the '90s in the south bay. sunnyvale reaches 86 degrees and we have one degrees cooler than that in campbell. we could see nine

ride is about 10 minutes from the foot of the maze towards fremont street those heading to the san mateo bridge there are no problems getting there. your drive will be about 14 minutes from end to end. your golden gate bridge ride shows a lot of space in between cars. we do not see any cars on the camera right now so a great ride for those approaching the toll plaza. and we have a lot of green and no problems for our freeways. for those of you coming out of marin county your drive is looking pretty good at just 23 minutes out of navato into the city. >> justine: thank you erica, and state parks that have been slated to close on july 1st have now been given a temporary reprieve. 25 parks have the breeden and that they need to finalize plans with local groups to stay

open. another five parks that do not have plans in place will also be able to stay open to us for now. one of the parks that are still threatened with closure is is the 447 a. of marshland and grassy hillside. >>anchor: this park is popular for fishing, running, biking, and biking but unless they can make a deal with the state these dates will be locked up seven days a week instead of monday and tuesday it is still unclear how long the state funds will keep the park open but the city mayor hopes that this will be long enough for them to work out a solution. one of the big sticking points in their negotiation has been reliability. who picks up the tab if someone gets hurt? >> if we do not give immunity from the state than we will be held responsible. >>anchor: want to that works

>> darya: we want to try to the developing news out of south san jose a big fire is burning in the 101280 interchange and will tran is there live as the scene with the latest of medicine the very latest. what is going on? >>anchor: right now firefighters are worried about the hot spots. firefighters are still on the scene they're focusing on the homes on the left side did not know the cause of the fire. we talked with many residents around here

they believe it may have been started by some squatters. arson investigators are on the scene. right now they're just trying to make sure the building is safe for the investigators to go inside once the sun comes up. this fire started around 3:00 a.m. one person was injured at one point power lines was a huge concern. pg&e came out and seemed to have gone the situation under control. when you are looking at right now is bayshore boulevards. it is obviously a very busy road. the fire department believes that it should continue to shut down the place in both directions for at least another hour while they get this situation under control. i can tell you that we have video we have one person being taken away and put into a squad car. the deputy fire chief says that he is not sure about that person but that is something

>> darya: thanks a lot. >> justine: just in, we have to power outages to tell you about one in oakland and the other in san jose. they are telling us that 216 people are without power right now in oakland. the 9400 block shows where a car hit a power pole. the majority of the customers, on both it is--135 customers are without power in south san jose because of an underground economic failure. we do not know the exact location just yet, but they are telling us that full restoration is expected by this afternoon. we will get you updated on both of these stories. >> james: the weather today

inside of the school for the last 20 days or so, the last couple of weeks they were ordered to leave. now they have been able to gather their goods. some of them have packed up their suitcases along with sleeping bags and tents. the protesters are here because they did not want to see this school and five others closed in the district. so they set up a protest. here. for the most part, the protesters are cooperating. as i said, there were about 30 inside and we're being told somewhere between 20 and 25 of them are getting their stuff and getting now. but we're also being told by protesters that several more have decided that they will go ahead and get arrested. as you can see, the police are just standing by they have not made any aggressive attempt to drag anyone out of the building at this point. people are peacefully grabbing their stuffing

at 4:00 a.m. at lake view elementary parents have been holding a sit-in protest for the past few weeks because they do not want the school to close down. most of the protesters began to leave peacefully this morning. about five of them said that they would stay interested. pg&e wants to raise customers' bills by as much as $12 per month to upgrade the gas and electricity system. they send a proposal by more than $2 billion to state regulators. >> mark: and other bankruptcy to tell you about, first it was stockton and now a popular ski resort town of mammoth lakes. a contract was brought--a breach of contract lawsuit was brought against them by a developer. this is a

popular ski resort with flights from the bay area but the population is only 8000 in the city is dealing with a $2.8 million deficit for their current fiscal year. they're hoping that bankruptcy court will approve a payment plan for the next 20 years. >> darya: state parks that were slated to be close this week are given a temporary reprieve. state lawmakers camera with $10 million to give 25 parks the breathing room that they need to finalize plans for local groups to keep them open. another five parks that did not have plans in place yet will be able to stay open for now one is still threatened with closure this to the venetian state recreational area. officials say two of the big sticking points in their negotiations have been liability and hiring workers for seasonal maintenance. >> anyone on the road could have an accident and if we do not get immunity from the state than we would be held responsible. the will cost us money. this is a city
