4:47 am
route. that could be the san mateo bridge or the dumbarton bridge this morning. we will keep you informed on any breaking of states--on any breaking of this. we do have yolie on the scene. we will have more information on this developing story coming up. i also wanted to tell you about this figure alert. this is east bound west bound interstate 80. we do have all the lanes shutdown there as well. this is due to some police activity that just occurred about and how were ago. if you are watching in the bay area and you're heading this way you may want to use east bound ag. --east bound 80. >> erica: again, we have no estimated time of when the lanes will reopen. we will
4:48 am
have more information coming up in a further report but as you take a look at the traffic cameras, all is well of open into the city of the bay bridge toll plaza this morning. there are no metering lights to deal with and traffic is flowing freely. here is a live look at the san mateo bridge for those that cannot take east bound 80, you may use east bound 92. there are a lot of space in between cars. your drive is just 13 minutes from end to end. as we take you outside, there's a lot of space in between cars and in the the fog for those coming out of the north bay. >> erica: we will monitor this throughout the morning. we are turning our attention to whether we do have some cloud coverage situated over the bay area. it looks like we do have some low clouds and patchy fog, but into the afternoon issued burn off. temperatures will be a little bit cooler compared to yesterday for the most part sitting in the '70s. as we head into the evening hours, it looks like we may
4:49 am
see clear and cool conditions. heading outside of the door here is what you should expect. we have 60 degrees and antioch, 56 working up an open and the fog tracker for has the southern half of the bay area, everyone to to live below the bay bridge stretches into the livermore valley as well. now as we put in--as be moving closer to 1:00 p.m. it looks like a lot of that will burn off. now compared to yesterday, we will see some '70's in the south bay. we are flirting with 80 for those in cupertino. we could see for places like antioch in fairfield. we have 86 degrees for pleasanton, 83 for walnut creek we're keeping it in the low '70s and relatively comfortable.
4:50 am
we have 75 for those of navato and 62 for ocean beach. your kron4 seven day around the bay forecast shows a mixture of morning fog and afternoon sunshine for the next couple of days. into the weekend of fuqua will squeeze out low 90s in the with '70s around the bay and upper 60 for the coast. we will continue to see the seasonal trend as the stock the next block. >> james: a developing story we have word that a large tree is blocking a road jackie cecil is on scene. now i was going to ask that damaging thing on the way down five guess so. >> reporter: yes oakland police the car was called about a tree down on 13th avenue and 21st street and 20th street. actually that is part of the treat this is
4:51 am
a large limb coming from the tree it fell down into the street it crushed the white car and you can see the back of the car is completely destroyed. now, the tree was on private property so according to the oakland police department's property owner will probably be responsible for the damage that was done to the car. the good news is that no one was injured. the other thing, there are a lot of overhead fire is out here. luckily none of those were dragged down on the branch came down. right now accrues from the city of oakland are on their way out to this location. there is a way for traffic to get by on 13th avenue. so it is not complete and blocking traffic at this point. >> james: i think it will take the cruise a little while to get this cut up the pieces that they can haul away. >> reporter: yes and luckily
4:52 am
it is not the whole tree is just a branch. it is not that big but i think once again knocked down they can get it out of here. >> james: thank you for that update now on to more headlines. >> james: we have a story for you and we should warn you the video could very well be disturbing for some viewers. you may want to turn away for just a second. >> reporter: home video captures the hutton want of a man walking through a fourth of july parade >> i heard the engine revs, and then the guy that was carrying the flag got hit by the car. >> reporter: police believe the 87 in a driver suffered a stroke and lost consciousness while riding. as you could the picture you can see the broken windshield from the impact
4:53 am
of hitting the man. >> he hit his head on the windshield and rolled off the side of the car. >> reporter: the car nearly hit people standing by watching the parade. >> it was too close for comfort and scary with all the kids. >> i was scared because the car came so close we were sitting in our chairs my wife freaked out i grabbed her and then we ran for our house. >> reporter: this woman is one of many that were to help the injured man. >> he was conscious the head injuries, he said his head hurt and is back heard and yet tingling in his feet. >> reporter: despite how rapid the video is the police say they release it because the man is expected to survive. >> he was carrying the american flag on the fourth to live for this to happen it was absolutely are renting. >> james: even if we have an accident of our own to tell you about we will tell you
4:54 am
that all lanes of the east bound direction of the bay bridge closed once again. officers are investigating a shooting incident that occurred earlier this morning we will have the latest coming up in just a minute.
4:55 am
4:56 am
>> erica: in our last report we to do all lanes were blocked east bound 80. this is due to some possible shooting and however we have just confirmed in the past couple of minutes that some of the lanes have reopened and traffic is moving again. you're not seeing any delays on the role with sensors to we have noticed some slowing. if you are heading out of san francisco, from out of san francisco and to open you may want to allow yourself some extra time or use an alternate route. >> james: room we will take
4:57 am
a quick break and be back with more in a minute we have video of a large tree that fell and jackie sinful is live at fan. --and we have jackie fissile live at the scene. we have more on this in a minute.
4:58 am
4:59 am
even [music] >> james: at dated--and we have yolie on the scene in development? had the open any of the blame? >> reporter: know, the fog
5:00 am
they have shut down the lanes temporarily. and you can to back up and the police activity with the flashing light straight ahead. >> reporter: dividend is an investigation going on on the bridge. they had three disclosed. when i drove by you could see the line of cars the want to show some video that i shot as i drove by the scene. they did not allow me to stop or get off because all those lanes that are blocked off are part of the investigation there was a possible shooting that happened around 2:00 a.m.. a car was also involved how this comes as involved exactly nine no. we do not know if it was the intended target or if a possibly crashed because of what happened to we do not know of this point the
5:01 am
information is very sketchy, we are waiting for the chp spokesperson to come out and talk with us and give us more detail. in the meantime the investigation is causing a backup. you can see how all the cars have slowed down. as the morning goes on, traffic seems to get worse. when i first came out here around 3:30 a.m. it was not that that but now it is really backing up. like i said, it seems that periodically they have to stop all the traffic for a little bit and at this point i can only guess that maybe they be open the last two lanes that they had originally opened. because it is bottlenecks so much things are really slowing down here. >> george: george is monitoring the latest in traffic center, let me see if we have anymore
5:02 am
information. >> george: the morning james, information is hard to get about this incident i spoke with the california highway patrol they did confirm that there is at least one lane past the scene of the incident that is open the chp is allowing some cars to pass through. whether or not they're continuing to lead vehicle towards the bridge, or whether or not they're using the left and lane to clear the vehicles that are stuck on the bridge ahead of what had been the closure is still a little bit unclear. here is what is clear, try to avoid the bay bridge east bound. if that is sure normal commute, maybe you drive through the city and you're already in the north, you should probably head straight for the golden gate bridge and cut across that way using the richmond san raphael bridge. if your destination is berkeley, that will be a long way around but you are better off doing that than trying to get into the backup for the closure. your other
5:03 am
option is to use the san mateo bridge. traffic on many of the freeways there are very light. as you can see, once again traffic is coming to a complete standstill for the lower d eck ride east bound. now here is 101 north bound. the backup has not yet reached around the corner to the central freeway. it is backing up a long got the sky way at least as far back as fourth street. we will have more details as the morning progresses left it a quick check of whether--let us get a quick check of weather. >> erica: good morning george. it looks like we are contending with patchy fog and temperatures sitting in the '50s. as we transition
5:04 am
into the afternoon the cloud coverage expected to burn off. i think we will see some sunshine but it will give a bit cooler compared to yesterday. as we head into the evening will have mainly clear and cool conditions. temperatures will drop and i think will have a lick your afternoon high and seven day around the bay forecast coming up. >> james: overnight police arrested a man that believes that another man in east palo alto last night the 20 year-old victim was found stabbed in the next on university avenue. but this is help police track down the 30 year-old roberto ramero no word on the victim's condition at the moment. a large tree has blocked the road to give you more news faster we want to talk with jackie cecil our solo reporter on the scene. >> reporter: no cruise have
5:05 am
arrived yet oakland police department are here protecting the scene. we are waiting for a crew from the city of oakland to get out and move the tree. according to the police officer that i spoke about an hour-and-a- half ago you could see the large tree branch or release part of it fell into the church street--into the street near east 21st and east 20th. according to the police officer the tree was on private property so the owner will probably be responsible for the damage done to the white car. the good news is that no one was injured. there is a lot of overhead power and cable lines in the area and a veteran dragged down when the tree decided to go ahead and fall into the street. both right now, part of east 13th, east 13th avenue is still blocked. you can get by on the left-hand side but i would advise against it. the good news is
5:06 am
that there are not a lot of people out here. and a really good news is no one was hurt in this accident. >> james: has anyone come out yet to say that is my car? >> reporter: no one has come out yet, but like i said earlier that is not the we want to wake up in the morning to run your morning errands. >> james: wow! thank you so much i does cannot get enough of looking at that car, that owner is going to be in for a pretty surprised when they step out the door. >> james: trading will resume on wall street this morning we watched the numbers. investors are on the sideline hoping that the u.s. bank will offer more stimulus. now just announced in the last 15 minutes, the european central bank says that it cut its key interest rate by a quota--a quarter
5:07 am
