[music] >> mark: breaking news story on the stanford campus it was an all out search this morning, a man in handcuffs on the loose. police arrested this man and then he escaped in their custody as they set up a perimeter around the stanford campus earlier this morning trying to find that suspect. will tran was on the scene in the first report that the man was rearrested. >> will: he was rearrested because he escaped from the back of a squad car are already handcuffed with his hands in his back side and how he managed to escape but more importantly, people are standing down now because he was a arrested while on foot

on the stanford campus minutes ago. we do believe that we saw a picture of him, or we saw him in the back of a squad car being led to the station. here is his picture, his name is scott foster he is 37 years old. police became aware of him at 1:30 a.m. when they got a phone call from his significant other of a domestic violence case. they came out, they did an investigation and then they said ok we will rescue. but in the process of testing him, somehow he got away. we heard the police chiefs say well i guess some people are flexible they will have to look into that. that is when the officers came not been set up a perimeter and they stood next to their cars. at no point was the campus lockdown more people could not come and go. but the officers were standing on the side of their cars watching what was going on. and while we were here giving a live interview we heard from the police chief first and she said he is the son of a professor year.

washington shows that a taser can make a difference. i think that the officers should have something in between a baton, pepper spray and legal force. >> darya: the department unsuccessfully asked for some tasters several times including a year-and-a-half ago. >> mark: we have new details in the james holmes case the psychiatrist that was treating him said that she mentioned her concerns to a colleague saying that he could potentially be a danger to others. the consent of the university psychiatrist surfaced in early june nearly six weeks

before the massacre and side of the movie theater. the university officials and never contacted the police. it is unclear why the police were never called. 12 people were killed and 15 others wounded in the attack at the night of the new batman movie. he is charged with 24 counts of first-degree murder and 116 counts of attempted to this morning, three u.s. airways planes almost collided outside of the airport. now an investigation is underway. this is all coming from a newspaper report about these three commuter jets that missed a collision near washington national. the washington post says that the three jets came within seconds of american vision this was just on tuesday afternoon. reportedly air- traffic controllers mistakenly cleared to

battling this huge fire and one of the two refineries. neighbors reported hearing what sounded like a jet engine and then they heard an explosion. it was so loud and so big that it actually shook their homes. this happened at about 2:00 a.m.. i know that no one was injured. the cause of the explosion and the resulting fire is still under investigation i will keep you updated on the developing story. >> darya: thousands of people say they are going to pucker up for a different kind of demonstration against chicken leg. it is the national same-sex kiss a day action plan. more than 10,000 people have signed up on line and say that they will be there. organizers say the idea is to show chicks' delay that they do believe in same-sex marriage. yesterday, the demonstrators who support the president of cit for late came to show their support online and in

for noon time, we will replace that with good 80 degree weather in santa rosa and a lot of art and in locations will be in the '80s at the lunch time our san francisco is the only exception here. temperatures are still in the '60s and by 3:00 p.m. 90's take hold of the inland valleys we will cool off as we head towards 8:00 p.m.. >> james: we will cool off rapidly once we head past sunset not take a quick look at temperatures specifically in the south bay. we're looking at 87 in santa clara, 85 and san jose we have a good handful of 90's as well. >> james: if you are going to be in the east bay today, along the shoreline you are looking at low 80s. he possibly have the upper 90s for the delta. livermore is coming in at about 94. if

you have any business in the central valley it will be a hot one for you with temperatures near the triple digit mark. we could see near 100 degrees for areas around sacramento, if you go that way know that it will be hot. this afternoon in san francisco we have about 70 for you, 75 in oakland, and we have 85 in san raphael warming to 89 in santa rosa and possibly 90 degrees for the napa valley. if you want to make the eighth game this evening as they take on the blue jays, we're looking for mostly clear skies, 69 degrees will be your temperature. it could be breezy at times. now here is your three day outlook. and let us take a look, the weather will who on friday for the inland communities and everywhere around the bay. it looks like we will cool off and

keep them nice and mild for the foreseeable future. i will show this on your seven day forecast now on to traffic it >> george: at the last report we will talk about the incident that was affecting traffic, it was a report of a car fire there and last week check the sensors indicated that there was a back up but it appears that that is all cleared up now. i did speak with the california highway patrol. although they were not involved in the pursuit they told me they had no reports of any obstruction to traffic for 680. it looks like things are cutting back to normal. we are not tracking in the hot spots currently. at the bay bridge toll plaza the metering lights have been activated but there is not much of a delay. your san mateo bridge ride still looks good we are problem free on 92 both eastbound and westbound.

here's a look at 101 the golden gate bridge, we still have an easy ride coming in from marin county on 101 south bound. >> mark: the city of berkeley is moving ahead with a tougher restrictions on plastic bags. the then starts this gentler and first and will apply to about 90 stores in berkeley. officials hope this move will cut down on the number of plastic bags that end up in the bay each year. >> darya: the city of san jose has declared a ho is consia public nuisance. they want the honor to add a fence around the property and surveillance system to curb sex trafficking in the area. a business owner that did not want to show his face is that prostitutes and solicit his customers all the time he is tired of it. >> in effect this is because you have a lot of

arrest. here is his picture his name is scott foster. he is 37 years old the son of a professor at stanford university. at 1:30 a.m., they received a call, a police officer came to his house and it turns out that his significant other was not injured apparently it was just some hair pulling. the police officer arrested mr. foster put him in handcuffs, put his hands behind his back and then took him to the car. in fact, he was already in the car some how he got away the police chief wants answers but at this point of the past several hours the most important thing to do was the arrest him. here is video of him being taken to the police station and you can see him in the back of the car. at 5:45 a.m., they received a call from another fellow police officer that they spotted him on campus walking around he was on the edge of the campus. they took him into custody

without any incident. right now he's being booked again and we will see what happens. we are waiting for the police chief to come out to see what other i additional charges he will face. according to her he will face another felony count. >> mark: a surging than violence shows that 4 people were killed in the last few days. now the chief is laying on a plan to try to stop the killings. he says that the murders actually happened within the same game and that the victims and those that were murdered all know eachother. >> now we are asking the community to step up, the faith based community, mothers, brothers, cousins, just a couple of weeks ago these guys were friends and they're all in the same thing and then all of a sudden four of them have

>> darya: the east bay regional park district warns people not to slow the work. jackie is there live to tell us why. good morning. >> reporter: it is actually beautiful out here temperatures are supposed to be on the rise, i hear a lot of people will probably be coming out here to the lake at pleasanton but there is an advisory that has been issued by the east bay regional park district because of unusually high bacteria levels. back in

july they took some more samples and the samples came back high. they are warning people out here on a normal basis not to drink the water when they are swimming that is pretty obvious. but they are also telling them to make sure that they take a shower and dry off. the date--they do not think it is a huge danger but they want to warn the people that may be going out to the lakes in the next couple of days. >> darya: did they say that that is not unusual and it is not like you should not swim. >> reporter: they say at these levels is not bad for you but if they get too high they will shut down the lake complete economic elite this morning i saw a couple of people swimming and as i said the lake itself is not closed, there are no signs posted. there is an advisory and they're warning people to take a shower after you

morning, expect coastal clouds and mild temperatures along the bay. take a look at where the temperatures are right now. we have a lot of fifties on the map. we see 60 in sunnyvale. i also see that temperature out there and antioch. it is a little chilly in santa rosa. by noon, we want to look for the warming to kick in. in fact our future forecast predicts widespread 80's. you can see all of the oranges and then on the map. we have cooler conditions and as we head inland, things go from school to warmer very quickly. and then it goes from warm to hot. temperatures will cool off by 8:00 p.m. so you will have some relief tonight. it will be toasty and take a look at the seven day around the bay forecast. today we are looking for high temperatures roughly in the east bay. we are right around 90 to 94 degrees.

>> darya: -- >> mark: -- >> james: as we head into the weekend, temperatures slide a little bit. it looks like we will keep it nice and mild in the beginning of next week. the us get an update on traffic. >> george: this morning it is a good ride, there are no high spots it is like traffic for most of the bay area. west bound you can see we have a light in easy ride, the metering lights are active and there are zero delays for the upper deck. for the san mateo bridge highway 92 shows a good commute perhaps a little lighter than usual still on the right side of your screen which is the west bound side. for the golden gate bridge we have no delays and no problems for your commute. the with our survey of the traffic map, you can see why the drive time still so good. just 16 minutes from hercules to berkeley, 18 minutes from walnut creek to dublin. the drive time is 32
