[music] >> justine: good morning it is thursday august 9th we are tracking a developing story this morning out of oakland, these are live pictures of a power line that is down near the colosseum. people are without power and we are live on the scene with the very latest. it is going to be a really hot day out there for much of the bay area. some places could get into the triple digits. let us into the erica with our

forecasts. >> erica: a spare the ear alert has been issued for today we could have problems with air quality. as we take a live look outside, for the most part we have a pretty clear start to the morning. temperatures are sitting in the '50s and '60s for the most part. for the most part temperatures will be in the 80s and 90s and yes some triple digits for your warmest in the areas. i will bring down the afternoon high temperatures and show how long the heat will last coming up in my next report. >> george: currently we are not tracking in the hot spots. there was an incident in san jose. we have like traffic for your ride through the east bay. >> justine: we begin with a developing story out of open were in power line is down after a car crashed into the poll. these are live pictures, you can see that

the poll is sort of on its side. and to give you more news faster we have jackie on the scene with the latest. >> reporter: you can see the power pole leaning over, you can also see the power that is lying down in front of the street on 81st ave. apparently, this all happened around 3:00 a.m. a carteret--it happened around 3:00 a.m.. we are being told that the car had the power line in left the scene and then went down the street and hit a fire hydrant. they are still looking for the car, we have no suspect information. i talked with a pg&e worker. he believes that some of the power should be restored in about five minutes. he says it will probably take the better part of the day to repair this but no telling

if all the customers will be back on in five minutes or just partial. but he said in about five minutes, some customers will be with power again. there are about 700 pg&e customers that are without power. >> justine: we also are following the seven members investigation team from the safety board that are on the scene from the refinery fire at chevron's. this is an independent agency that is charged with investigating serious chemical accidents the team came all the way from denver. other developments to tell you about richmond fire crews had to go back into the refinery after a flare-up was reported at the facility this was a little before noon yesterday. there were no injuries. chevron said that fire was put out in a matter of minutes. during a news conference they touched on how people can stop--

>> reporter: the good news is that partial power was restored to the neighborhood out here in oakland and yes, they are still looking for the suspects who did this. around 3:00 a.m., the vehicle came are around 81st avenue and plowed into the power pole in knocking out power here in oakland. about 700 customers in all are affected. no suspect information has been given out at this point. and as you can see there is a line that vista across the first avenue. for a while, traffic was still making its way underneath that line. this was somewhat of a hazardous situation and in the last 10 minutes open police officers came by here and blocked eight first ave. this is completely from san leandro all the way down. right now you will not be able to get through this area. according to pg&e, they think it will take the better part of the

fifth time today to fix the power pole. if we have no idea when the remaining customers will have their power restored. the good news is, at least partial restoration of power is out here in oakland. we are waiting to see how many customers are now without power. >> justine: 823 euro san jose man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography. this is after a five month long online child pornographic sharing investigation. during the search warrant, computer equipment and electronic storage devices containing child pornographic images were found. >> justine: a man has been arrested he is accused of soliciting sex from a wal- mart park. police found this

man had had their farm park on tuesday that is after they received several complaints about lewd activity in and around the rest rooms. they are located on the southern end of a park. police say they will continue to monitor to the park for any other criminal activity. >> justine: three men are under arrest in connection with an armed car probably the happened a few years ago. the men will be arraigned today. two of the men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, attempted robbery and attempted kidnapping charges. the third man is being charged with conspiracy and possession of an assault weapon. it took place in southwest federal's but in august of last year. they closed the
