at one point chemicals are monitored on each employee. if it gets too high each employee has a self monitor. they're continuing to spur of water in that area to make those weepers disperse. that is another reason they cannot gain access to that area. and they have to make sure that the pipelines are clear of any gas or fuel. once that is done they will be able to do their inspection. there will be shipping them off for analysis. other pieces of information is that as of now chevron says that 10,400 people have filed claims as a result of the richmond refinery fire. the attorney's office of this personal injury saying that they have a reabeen representing thousands of people. and the

(male announcer) this is the bay area's news station. kron 4 news starts now. >>pam: tonight at 6:00 p.m. it has been two weeks since a major bay area refinery and the investigators do not know what happened. they cannot get a close look at where this fire started. it broke out earlier. this happened at the chevron refinery in richmond of toxic smoke sent thousands of people to hospitals. dan kerman is live in richmond. federal investigators just wrapped up a news conference. >>dan: federal investigators indicate that that site is still not save with hydrocarbons and fuel in the air. it has to be capped and drained out before they can get in there. however 65 interviews have been

conducted. 20,000 pages have been overturned from chevron. however these key evidence is these photos. let me show you these photos taken from the photographers from pier 39. but of the vapor cloud that started before the fire chevron officials are looking as well as the chemical board. this is significant because it shows you how long that vapor cloud was in place before the fire started. it was at least two minutes. they say it was significant. >> last week we talked about that large vapor cloud that was very significant in size. it enveloped a number of workers. we think that it is probably over 20 workers. we have not
