the suspect. the question has imposed earlier but i cannot confirm at this time of their >> right now what is the suspect doing? are you talking to him? is he distraught? >> this incident initiated about 11:00 p.m. with a 911 call regarding a man with a gun. officers spotted the vehicle near the 800 block of bush street. a pursuit began and during the pursuit the suspect fired at least one shot at soaring office. the pursuit ended here on treasure island pictures he ran to the shoreline and brandished a fire arm and threatened to commit suicide. we are in a stand off all sorts. >> so he did try aiming it at officers went that far as the charge? >> at this time we know they did far at least one round at the possibility of

welcome back to the kron for morning new is an update on a developing story we are following out of treasure island. >> 29 year-old duncan phillips is in a standoff with police. phoenicia police responded to a report of the armed robbery. police believe philips struck a woman and the head with a

handgun and took off with her purse. for a short time later a call came in that a red 2004 ford taurus was stolen. the two women were france and the woman whose car was stolen is believed to be the exit girlfriend of phillips. he was spotted in san francisco, there was a chase on to the bay bridge, and then here on to treasure island where philips is alone and armed. that was called to our solo reporter on the san francisco side looking for into the area where we believe philips is there with a gun while police are trying to get him to drop his weapon. have you seen anything? >> this is about as close as we can get to the island because they have it shut down you cannot get on or off the island. they say he is in the area on the rocks on the west side of treasure island facing san francisco. i have seen a couple of police lights starting around here that are driving down the main road. this is

the road that goes in and out of treasure island ticket one of two main roads that get you in and out of the island. i see flashing lights on this side of the island because this activity is happening close to the road this is why they're not letting any residents leave the island or anyone go on to the island. he has already wiped his hand gun to show them that he has it. he is saying that he will commit suicide at this point police have a perimeter around them. they have a tactical team on scene as well as a negotiator. they have tried to talk him to get of the rocks and to get on the other side safely. at this point we know that it is still a standoff there is no indication as to whether it

struck in this officer involved shooting no details on whether or not there is an outstanding suspect. i can tell you jacqueline road is closed for multiple blocks as the investigation continues. we are waiting for the public information officer from the milpitas police department's to show up and give us some information. no details on whether or not there is an outstanding suspect at this point. we do know there were shots exchanged you can see the investigators taking measurements and pictures. they are collecting evidence. that has been the scene for the last hour. as we get more information we will pass a law. >> jackie are their homes in the area? >> yes it is a neighborhood area as you can see. there are houses that line of jacqueline street. there is also a large strip mall about a half mile down the street that is also closed off this whole neighborhood
