rape by two women, jeremy goulet was simply allowed to resign from the military new tonight at five-- investigators say, the two santa cruz police detectives who were gunned down on tuesday-- were ambushed. kron 4's dan kerman has more on the deadly attack. >> pam: and just minutes ago. kron-4 did some digging and found the gunman does have family in new mexico. a possible reason for his reported plans to try and travel there. let's get to grant lodes now, with more on the killer's past. grant? >> kron four is uncovering newinformation that paints the shooter - jeremy goulet - as a career criminal.who allegedy raped women, and repeatedly looked into victim's windows. here's a timeline of his run-ins with the law. goulet was cited twice in san diego for prowling and peeping. once in 1999 and once in 2000. fast forward to 2006 in hawaii. goulet was accused of raping two different women within

two months while serving in the military. goulet was not charged in either alleged rape. one year later.in 2007.goulet was arrested in portland, oregon on a series of charges. police say goulet was peeping on a woman while she was showering. he's accused of removing a screen in the window, and using a stick to prop open the blinds. goulet had a gun on him during the incident. then in august of 2012 in berkeley. goulet was arrested for peeping and prowling on a male victim. and finally in santa cruz. goulet was charged with public intoxication last friday. but earlier that night.a co- worker says goulet made unwanted sexual advances toward her at her home. he was fired the next day.and detectives were investigating the unwanted sexual advances on tuesday when they were ambushed and killed. >> pam: continuing our team coverage. kron4's maureen kelly uncovers new information about the crime goulet reportedly committed in berkeley and spoke to the victim in that case. >> reporter: it was after midnight when jeremy goulet was spotted creeping around this berkeley apartment

building. according to court records he was caught in the act of peeking into a ground floor window by a neighbor.who called the police. the male victim.who did not want to go on camera tells me that he didn't recognize goulet when an officer woke him up to tell him what was going on. but later realized that goulet was a friend of a friend who he had met causally about a year before.he says he's not sure if goulet knew he was living there or if it was just a coincidence.saying that a lot of young women were living in the building day he learned from his roommates that the house had also been broken in the night before goulet was arrested.and wallets were stolen.but police were never able to prove goulet had any part of that. a few months later.the victim saw goulet shopping at an oakland grocery store.and confronted him about the thefts. he says goulet told him that he was not a theif.to which the victim replied."then why were you arrested in front of my house? " goulet did not respond. when asked how he felt about his encounters with goulet in light of the murders in santa cruz.the victim said

things that people have left outside the police station in memory of the two officers. flowers, teddy bears, notes from children. saying that they are very sorry for their loss. ifwe learned this afternoon that this will be a joint funeral for both officers. detective sergeant butch baker and detective elizabeth butler. it is going to be held at the kaiser permanente our rita professional basketball teams plays there now. it holds 33-hundred people so definitely not the biggest venue. parking is also limited in that area. that?s one of the reasons why there is an overflow location at the civic center auditorium here in santa cruz. that location is an even smaller venue. those from the santa cruz police department say they may even have a third venue. back out here live though you can again see that memorial that has grown tremendously over the past 2 days. two press conferences were held here at the department today and those with the sheriff?s
