billion across-the-board cuts to government spending starts kicking in today. that could affect california to the tune of a $10 million loss in federal dollars. the president has summoned the top bi-partisan congressional leadership to the white house. today's meeting is this first opportunity to spell out a replacement for these across-the-board cuts 18 year, up 1.5 trillion dollar deficit reduction plan. the so-called sequestered came out of the dead still in negotiations over a year ago. it was placed as a poison pill. this was to force democrats and republicans to come together on a more strategic cuts. well guess what, congress never came together. most of the cuts, including foreclosed for some government workers the amount to about 20 percent pay cuts will not start kick in until later this month. so there is still hope for a deal. >> the other developing
