questioned on what exactly led up to the shooting. the suspect still on the loose. new information in the lion attack. that left a 24- year old woman dead. at an exotic animal park sanctuary in fresno. officials say, an intern named dianna hanson was cleaning a lion's cage while talking on her cell phone when she was killed. this is video of the lion's cage where she was attacked by this 550- pound african lion named "cous- cous." officials say, the lion was able to use its paw to lift a partially closed door and escape the smaller cage he was in. the coroner says, she was killed by a paw swipe that broke her neck. the lion was killed on site. burglars have ripped off a charitable organization in concord. breaking into the agency's warehouse in martinez. stealing and destroying close to 100- thousand dollars worth of gifts and furniture for the needy. this is video of volunteers

setting up a past event for the non-profit group called - "christmas for everyone." the charity organization provides meals. and hands out gifts on christmas day to poor families in contra costa county. charity founder, mary perez. speaks with kron four's philippe djegal. and, shows us how the thieves broke in, and what they took. >> there is the whole -- hole. we have shot it up but it has to be a small person to crawl through there but they took a truck loads. over several days. they cut our alarm system, electricity and fold the copper out of the wires. so all our alarm did not work so we do not have any electricity. this used to be neat and organized it is used to be clothing and furniture for people that needed and the type of

furniture. we have a brand did you referred to ritter and that was gone and a stove and a box that was gone and in this room we had a 68 newly brand new tables. 180 brand new folding tables. you can see this room is empty and these boxes were filled with presence and it is gone. i have cried my pocket of tears and now you just have to clean it up and go on it is not going to change it. >> mary perez says, some new donations are coming in after the thieves hit a week ago. but for the first time in 28 years, she says, it does not look like she will be able to hold the annual "christmas for everyone" event. the charity has been targeted before. back in 2009, it was burglarized 5- times during a months time.

researchers from boston children's hospital analyzed four years of government data -- as well as data from a gun control advocacy group. they found that states with the most laws have 40 percent fewer firearm deaths compared to states with the least. however, the research does *not* prove that the number of laws make a difference. >> a unanimous vote by the california state senate pushes forward funding for a one of a kind gun seizing program. the bill authorizes 24 million dollars for the program that prohibits gun ownership for people convicted of a felony or a violent misdemeanor, have a domestic violence restraining order or who are mentally unstable. the department has confiscated more than 10- thousand weapons under the program since 2006 but has a backlog because it has too few agents to go after the weapons. >> a new bill would make it more difficult for the cow palace to host gun shows. state senator mark leno introduced the bill that would require gun shows to get approval of officials in

both san francisco and san mateo counties. this would effectively end gun shows at the cow palace because supervisors in both counties have repeatedly passed resolutions calling for the shows to stop. the bill is the latest of several attempts over the past few years to limit or stop the gun shows. previous attempts have died in the legislature and the most recent was vetoed by then-gov. arnold schwarzenegger in 2009. >> a controversy is brewing in the east bay suburb of danville. over how much space should be set aside for affordable housing. kron 4's maureen kelly spoke to people on both sides of the issue. >> reporter: this shopping center off camino ramon is one area that could be re- zoned to allow for high density residential construction. it's one of several spots that could one day be the sight of affordable housing.the association of bay area governments and the state have dictated that the town set aside close to 10 acres of such locations.as they update their general plan.

>> it is still not known but the damage seems to be significant. there were not even sure if it was of the inside with the outside but they just responded at 3:00 a.m. let me show you video of one this actually was active. when they showed up the officials knew that it was a landmark restaurant. they have quickly figured it out that it was more of an exterior fire and an interior fire and were able to put it out. they just want to make sure that there is no further damage inside the building. so they are trying to tear down the

branches because there is a large tree in front of the restaurant. making sure the there are no pockets of flames or smoldering inside. it seems to be pretty significant damage. they are saying that this is a out of commission. but the good news is that this is salvageable. there were sprinklers. once those fires activated the sprinkler system it really helped. if food was not for that we could see in a burnt down building but the building is still standing. they will be out here for a couple of hours. this will be blocked on shattuck

morning. san francisco police are searching for two victims who robbed a house then fled across the bay bridge. suspects forced their way into a home in the 21- hundred block of 23rd street in san francisco's potrero hill neighborhood. the robbers then pistol- whipped the victim, took an iphone and ipad then fled from the residence before police arrived. police were able to track bridge before losing sight of the vehicle. the robbers is asked to call the san francisco police. >> a man who had been reported missing. was found stabbed to death in his san jose apartment. a family member identified the body as 69-year-old stanley jacobson. jacobson, who suffered from dementia-- went missing back in early february. police say, at some point over the last few weeks, he showed up without anyone noticing. and was killed. an arrest has been made in the case-- but police have not yet released the suspect's name. jacobson's death marks san jose's eighth homicide of the year.

stopped at market and davis. an u-s airway passenger was arrested at oakland international airport after security agents found 67 pounds of marijuana in his bag. the marijuana was discovered by t-s-a agents when they were doing a random search of the man's yesterday morning. t=s=a agents then notified the alameda county sheriff's department where they passenger was arrested. sheriff deputies say the passenger is a 21-year-old man who had a ticket for south carolina. a u.s. airways passenger was arrested at the oakland international airport today after security agents found 67 pounds of marijuana in his bag, the marijuana was discovered by agents when they were doing a random search of the man's bag this morning, the tsa agents then notified alameda county sheriff's deputies, who provide took the passenger into custody. mainly check for explosives but when they discover other illegal items they notify local action. the passenger is a 21-year- old man who had a ticket for charleston, s.c. he said authorities aren't releasing the man's name at this time. nelson said the man is being held at the county jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale. >> a neighborhood in oakland is fed up with police not doing anything aboug the burglaries plaguing their community neighbors in the hills of oakmore are now taking
