check. we are not tracking any hot spots. there is slow traffic on highway 4 in the westbound direction. we had an earlier occurring accident. >> we are following this developing story out of san jose were police say a driver and a stolen car races towards an officer. it happened on the 1800 block of alameden road just off of highway 87. kron4 will tran is at the scene. >> a female driver was struck and there was a male passenger. this happened right behind me and fun of this apartment building.

this is video that we received. this was a 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon. they received a call about a stolen car and a spotted a woman and they make eye contact with her. instead of giving up she backed the car up and hit the officer. the investigators stated that he was forced to open fire on the car. we're not sure how many shots were fired but she was hit by a bullet. the police officer was taken to the hospital with non a life-threatening injuries. they're not releasing any names at this time. we do know that this is a third officer shooting this past month. the other two months ended in fatalities. >> two men are recovering

this morning after they were shot in oakland. it happened last night around 8:03 p.m.. police responded to the area 65th street avenue and international boulevard where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. off two men were then taken to the hospital where they're listed in stable condition. >> milpitas police arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery earlier this month. 32 year old hunter thompson is suspect and robbing a bank on north milpitas boulevard on march the ninth. police say that thompson allegedly walked into the bank with a gun in hand a bank teller a demanding note. off the teller hand over cash in the suspect fled. police said that thomson also may be responsible for other bank robbers in san francisco, redwood city and paul toll. >> napa police are investigating whether a man who died after being found

in got in flames on a pedestrian overpass was the victim of a homicide or committed suicide. motorists on highway 29 contact the accord is just before 4:00 a.m. tuesday morning to report a man on fire. when rescue crews arrived quickly put out the flames. the man was pronounced dead at the scene. investigators say that they have not identify the man or determined his age or his ethnicity. >> new this morning, south africa says that nelson mandela has been admitted to a hospital with a lung infection. the office of president says of the 94 year-old former president an anti-apartheid leader when to the hospital just before midnight on wednesday. this is the third time the former president has been hospitalized in the past four months. >> overnight, as south african judge says that

groups are holding rallies across the country. they want to pressure lawmakers in the senate to expand background checks for gun owners. off president obama meantime, is meeting with gun violence victims today. the president expected to make remarks on gun violence just before 9 this morning. at 10:00 this morning, a group will gather at senator dianne feinstein's office in sampras's gulf in support of our efforts against gun violence. >> the air force has since stealth bombers off to south korea to participate in military exercises. the be- to spirit bombers flew more than 6,500 mi. from whiteman air force base in missouri to south korea, dropping fake munitions there as part of an exercise, before returning to the u.s. mainland. the disclosure of the be-to flights comes a

details coming up. >> two people are in custody after bay injured in a police shooting in the southern part of san jose this morning. off the incident happened on the 1800 block of lme an road. police were called out to this location around for 30 p.m. yesterday afternoon to investigate a stolen vehicle. when they arrive, they found a man and woman in a stolen vehicle. when officers went up to confront the suspects the woman put the car into gear and hit one of officers with the car. that was one officer fired in self-defense hitting the one release one time. >> he feared for his life and he had to fire. >> it is unclear whether the male passenger was hit by gunfire. both suspects are expected to survive from their injuries. this is san jose's third officer involved shooting of the year. >> a new, but long the

bacon police substation may soon be the face of improved public safety in san jose. the multimillion-dollar facility on great oaks boulevard, was moth balled two years ago and budget cuts and layoffs. now, as the city's fiscal outlook is improving, reviving the substation is part of the mayor's plan to focus on public safety. the move could dramatically improve police response times in the sprawling alameda and valley and points south. the substation could be up and running by next spring. >> a former aragon high school walter polo coach will span two years in prison. 258 year-old joshua learns tatro collapsed on the floor yesterday when he was read his sentencing that
