>> reporter: one of these suspects was shot in the shoulder and he has been taken to hospital but he should be okay. we can see that yellow tape. somebody in the community got a bit too close. and of one man was very upset at this point with officers making sure that he does not go into this area which is a crime scene. they are making sure that the artist still behind that crime scene. this is where everything happens. the officers in the distance at a 34th/just not with a burglary. that is one they came across the mess. let me show you this suspect who said had a replica guns. that is exactly what you are

>> pam: residents in a handful of bay area cities continue to hold their noses. that's because of an on-going 'sympathy strike' by garbage workers, employed by allied waste. kron four's rob fladeboe reports from fremont. where the trash is beginning to pile up. >> reporter: among the latest allied customers impacted by the work stoppage are people living here along decoto road in north fremont. the streets lined with allied's blue and green trash and rec-cycling bins, many of which are full. they and dumpsters like this one were not emptied friday and piles of trash like this one are causing some concern. the local teamsters union halted services in support of a work stoppage in ohio. many residents are questioning why they would stick their necks out for something happening half-way across the country but others are saying good for them. >> i am sympathetic because it is the little guy trying

>> catherine: if you've ever wondered whether young girls - minors - should have over- the-counter access to the "morning-after" pill --- a judge has made that call for you. today a federal judge ruled that the government 'must' make the most common morning-after pill available over the counter to all ages. his decision. young girls should be able to buy the morning after pill - over the counter. right now they need a prescription. and many people say that's a huge roadblock. after all - the pill is supposed to be taken the morning after - within 24 hours of unprotected intercourse. that can be hard to do if a prescription is necessary. the federal judge blasted the obama administration. especially -- health and human services secretary - kathleen sibelius. in 2011 - she overruled an fda recommendation to make the pill available to all ages without a prescription. the judge's decision called that "arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable." birth control advocacy groups are happy. saying this may help bring down the teen pregnancy rates. u.s. teen pregnancies are twice as high as britain and canada. and 4 times higher than france and sweden. bottom line - young girls of any age will probably be able to get the pill without parental consent or a prescription -- soon. >> this should be available

physically and verbally abusing players. the video showed team practices between 2010 and 2012. rice was disciplined after an investigation into the abuse allegations. but pernetti says, in his resignation letter. that he regrets that rice was not fired at that time. pernetti also said, he "always will love rutgers". and that he hopes his tenure is not "judged by this one incident." >> a former rutgers university employee who made the video public. has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the university. eric murdock claims, he was let go after a dispute with the now fired coach mike rice. and ultimately because he complained about rice's treatment of players. he claims the university violated the state's employee protection act and his contract. murdock says, he first gave the university the video in november, showing rice pushing and yelling gay slurs at players. more than two weeks ago, colorado prison chief tom clements was shot and killed in his home after answering his front door. now his wife and daughters are talking about their husband and father: his life -- how they're moving forward - and how they want to remember him. tom clements' family spoke to anderson cooper in their first interview since the shooting. his wife lisa talked about how much her husband loved his job. >> "he really truly cared about other people, and so his career was successful i think because his passion was about believing in other people and believing that people could be redeemed, and their life could be changed." >> catherine: the man authorities linked to clements' shooting, was killed in a gun fight with police-two days after the prison chief's death. this week court officials admitted that an error caused clements' killer to be released early on parole. clement's widow says she's made a choice not to focus on that. >> "for the rest of my days, i could be angry that someone made a mistake and didn't capture what a judge conveyed verbally but it won't bring tom back and then my life is lost in that

and my ability to be a good mother to my children." >> catherine: clements' daughter says that while she's still dealing with the loss of her father she wants people to remember him for more than his death. >> "i would like people to see how he lived his life and that that is so much more important than how he died. that he lived his life with such passion and such compassion for other people." >> catherine: police are now questioning two men who knew suspected killer evan ebel. they're also looking for two other suspects who they say were also involved a white supremacist prison gang. >> a slain prosecutor and his wife were laid to rest in a small central texas town today. kaufman county d-a mike mclelland and his wife cynthia were gunned down saturday at their house. no arrests have been made - but there's a 200-thousand dollar reward being offered for information leading to the killer's conviction. law enforcement has been on

>> pam: now for today's market update. stocks close lower following a weak jobs report. here are the closing numbers. the dow ended down 40 points. it had been down as much as 171 points. the nasdaq fell 21 points. and the s-and-p fell six points. the march jobs report is out and it shows a decrease in the unemployment rate. but experts are saying it fell for the wrong reason. christine romans is here to break down all the numbers and explain what they mean. >> reporter: a disappointing jobs report for march. only 88,000 jobs created and the unemployment rate fell, it did fall, to 7.6%, but

that's because so many people dropped out of the labor market. a half a million people just gave up looking, showing there was some weakness in the labor market in the month. when you look at the trend, also, repeating what we saw last year. in 2012 strength in the beginning of the year and it faded into the spring. again, strength at the beginning of the year, fading a little bit into the spring, making some people wonder if first quarter economic growth is going to be as strong as they wanted. where were the jobs? health care: we continue to see growth in healthcare jobs, another 23,000 there. we also saw some jobs growth in leisure and hospitality but not as many as we have been seeing. and we saw jobs lost in retail. 24,000 jobs lost in retail. some economists are speculating because of the loss of the payroll tax cut holiday, a little added tax burden for many pay checks. that's actually hurting the retail stocks.
