back and i'd just rather grief and anguish on her face and then i started seeing smoke. we pulled over. it was frustrating and scary. there was nowhere to go over so we were in the lane and i was looking back to make sure everything was safe. as soon as i pulled over, one of the lady's house through the partitions. one car in front and one car and back tried to help. as i see the ladies coming through the partition, and try to use the phone which i can't. by this time, someone had opened up the rear door. the limo was engulfed in flames and repair--rare. the label stuck and i pulled her out.

limo is the passender area. 9 women back here. seperating the passenger area and the driver area. the fire was in the back of the limo. four women made it out alive. the driver says he pulled one or two of the survirors through the partition. we also have images of the interior and exterior of an eight passenger town car limo from the limousine company's website. there are two rear doors for passengers to enter and exit the passenger area.one on either side of the vehicle near the back trunk area. and inside.you can see the partition area that the driver can lower and raise electronically. were found in this area of the vecicle, near the partition.presumably trying to escape through the

partition. away from the fire in the rear as possible. >> pam:officials with limo- stop, the company which owns the limo, released a statement saying, they were deeply saddened by the deaths and promised to help with the investigation. it reads. "limo-stop inc. will do everything possible to investigate and assist authorities in determining the cause of this fire. in order to help bring forth answers and provide closure to the victims and their families." we are learning that many of the women onboard the limo worked in nursing. kron 4's maureen kelly went to an east bay nursing home. where the staff is reeling and we are learning more about the women injured in the crash. their names are. jasmine desguia of san jose.and mary guardiano of

in southern california. the spring fire in ventura county is now 80-percent contained. it has burned a total of 28- thousand acres. a total of ten buildings have been destoryed. no word yet on the cause. full containment is expected to happen tomorrow. in northern california. the panther fire in tehama county is now 60- percent contained. nearly 7-thousand acres have been scorched. three people are hurt. the cause is still under investigation. full containment is expected to happen there in two days. >> pam >> catherine:a judge has agreed to release a friend of the surviving boston bombing suspect from federal custody. this is robel phillipos.the 19-year-old went to school with jo-har sarnie-ev. he's charged with lying to federal authorities.and faces up to 8 years in prison if convicted. he and two other teenagers were arrested last week. phillopos still faces trial

-- but now can be confined at his mother's home in the meantime. other restrictions -- he has to wear an electronic monitoring bracelets. authorities say he repeatedly lied before finally telling them what he knew about tsar-nie-ev. as for the suspect killed in a police shoot-out.the older brother. relatives are having a tough time getting any cemeteries to accept his body. angry protests continue outside the funeral home where tamerlin sar-nie-ev's body is being held. some say his body should be flown back to russia where his parents live -- but they say they won't pay to do that. the funeral home director, meantime - says the body 'has' to go somewhere. >> it's an emotional problem obviously. but we have to bury somebody. that's what this country does. >> i strongly disagree. he

>> catherin >> pam:developing at five. the driver of a limosine that burst into flames on the san mateo bridge. is sharing his story. the fire happened saturday night -- as a group takes a deadly turn. tonight, we are learning more about the moments leading up to the flames, and right afterward. here is what we know. there were nine passengers in the vehicle. 5 women were killed -- including the bridge, and four others were hurt. right now, there is no word on what caused the fire.

limo was overloaded. and the driver says when the fire broke out. he smelt plastic -- and believes the cause was electircal. catherine heenan is here now with more. >>catherine: driver orville brown says the fire broke out in one of the worst possible places. in this part of his what happened when he tried to call for help. >> after recalled 911 at the and no disrespect to the fire department. it took them about 30 minutes to get over that long bridge. the son of the san mateo bridge it is the longest. they need to institute that there should be a substation because they have to come all the way from foster city, passed us up to go into hayward and came back. we watched two fire trucks pass up. also, the safety on

the limousines. there has to be some better regulations. >> catherine: foster city fire officials say they were on the scene 911 call. >>grant: people driving on the bridge with cell phones capture the horror. the limo's back-half.fully engulfed in flames at this point. first responders have not arrived yet. look at how big the flames are. and give you a a better look. lots of dark gray smoke coming out of the back of the limo. the flames look to be at least 10 feet high. now for a closer look.and then we'll freeze the video. flames overtaking the trunk and back end of the limo. the roof burning as well. vehicle.but that's where the victims are. as we play the video again. you see three women.not far from the limo. these may be women who were

you may have heard. kron- 4'swe want to update you on his condition -- he is fine, resting at home. he will be back, and will bring you the story of what happened, along with the video of his but for now, we bring you the best of 'people behaving badly' this starbucks in the city of concord is at the center of attention because of what happened recently according to a witness who posted what happened on a blog known as claycord.com a dog was denied entry inside the starbucks.oh my good this is unheard of a pet being denied entry in a bay area eating establishments. the funny thing if you look around concord i found only a hand full of signs regarding pets in stores so does this jack in the box in fact they had the largest sign and somehow pets and bikes are in the same category the truth is the california health and safety code forbids any pet from entering fodd establishments except working dogs so the lady that entered a starbucks with a cat on a leash does not qualify as a

>>everybody was joyous, beautiful ladies, beautiful occasion. i was happy for them >> pam:a limousine driver talks about the death of a new bride and four of her friends. in a car fire on the san mateo bridge. the five women were killed saturday night. four other women and the driver. managed to escape. firefighters in foster city said today, they are devastated they were unable to save the women in the burning limousine. a hospital in fresno says, two of the victims. including the bride. were nurses in its intensive care unit. the c-h-p says, the limo was carrying one more passenger than the law allows. although there is no indication that had anything to do with the fire. the limo driver says, he suspects the cause was an catherine heenan has more on what he had to say today. >>catherine: orville brown says he's been working as a limousine driver for a few months, moving up from shuttle busses. he says what he smelled saturday night gave him an

highway patrol is the lead agency in the accident. they say it will take weeks before they have any answers. we are learning that many of the women onboard the limo worked in nursing. kron4's maureen kelly went to an east bay nursing home where the patients and staff are reeling from the news. >> reporter: i'm in front of the crown bay nursing and rehabiliation center in alameda .one of the surviving victims. grace gwar-dee-ano.has been working for the past five years. the executive director here tells me grace is a very caring nurse.who is much loved here by the patients she cares for and her co-workers.that they've gotten word that grace has been released from the hospital is back home recovering from herinjuries.but the news of the tragedy has hit his staff here hard several employees here also knew another survivoramalia loyolawho worked here a few years ago.and many also know those who were killed. >> we have over a 90%

back right rear door appears to be open. investigators sorting through the scene and what's left of that a person limousine. >> pam:a massive wildfire continues to burn west of los angeles. in less than a week, the springs fire has charred tens of thousands of acres but firefighters are getting closer to bringing this blaze under control. kron 4's charles clifford has an update. as of 7am this morning the springs fire had burned 28,000 acres. this is a google earth map of the burn zone.. which is about 50 the fire started here, just south of camarillo on may 2nd and hot dry santa anna winds pushed the flames towards the southwest.. all the way to the pacific ocean. but as of today, the springs fire is 80% contained and fire crews have done a good job of protecting nearby homes and businesses..as you can see here the fire came with in just a few feet of reaching this neighborhood, but no homes have been lost. so far only 16 outbuildings

his parents live.but they say they will not pay to make that happen. a new study byy the conservative group 'the heritage foundation' says that legalizing roughly eleven million illegal immigrants will cost taxpayers more than six *trillion dollars. the study says the immigrants would get nearly nine and a half trillion dollars in benefits and only pay three trillion in taxes over their lifetimes. that's if they gain legal status under the new immigration reform plan being considered in the senate. the senate judiciary committee is set to vote on the 844-page reform bill this week. but a new poll by "forward- dot-u-s" -- says 71 percent of all voters, including 74 percent of conservative republicans and 78 percent of liberal democrats, are in favor of the bill. 68 percent of swing voters also back the proposal, which has been endorsed by president obama.

nine of every ten voters surveyed say they support forcing employers to verify the legal status of new hires. an announcement out of new york today says the city plans to sue bank of america and wells fargo for not complying with last year's national mortgage settlement. 15 months ago, federal and state officials announced a 25-billion dollar settlement with five banks over robo-signing and other foreclosure practices. as part of the settlement, banks agreed to reform their business practices related to loan servicing and foreclosures. but new york says the bank of america and wells fargo have violated that agreement. neither bank has commented. a congressional hearing will be held wednesday on the deadly attack at the u- s consulate in benghazi. a former top diplomat in libya is expected to testify. he says a team of u.s. special forces ready to head to libya, after the assault - was told to stand
