turned up no sign of the intruder. three days later, a man matching the description, is tried to kidnap a baby from her mother 50 -miles away in placerville. investigators determine. he is not involved in fowler's death. on may third, the female witness recants her account the fowler home, and the person seen by the male witness, is cleared of involvement. leila's brother is now the only person claiming to have seen the long= haired intruder. then, last saturday, the brother is arrested shortly after 5 p.m. as part of the investigation, deputies seized several knives from the home leila shared with her father, step- mother and siblings. to determine used to inflict the fatal wounds. a missing 9-year-old girl has officials expanding their search tonight in lake county. divers are now looking for mikaela lynch.and more volunteers are helping with the search. mikaela went missing yesterday. autism and is unable to speak. she was last seen playing inlake.about 30 miles north of calistoga. we'll show you the specific location where the search is focused. the family home is right on this waterway that connects to the lake. 15-197 harbor lane. some makaela's clothes were found in the yard.but so far no sign of the little girl. county and will have an news at 8:00.

but first, the woman who survived more than 2 weeks with reporters. that's right after the break the 19-year-old seamstress who survived 17 days under ain bangladesh was talking to reporters today. she was brought outside the hospital in a wheelchair. doctors say she's in remarkably good shape. reshma begum said she was on the third floor when the garment factory collapsed - and was able to crawl to the basement. she says her clothes were shredded and she found other clothing to change into. she survived on dried food and bottled water. she made $60 a month at the factory - which is about twice the average. after what she went through - she says she'll never work again in a bangladesh garment factory. the final death toll -- 11- hundred-27. new images tonight from that mass shooting at a mother's day parade in new orleans. police are searching for this guy.and perhaps other suspects. more than a dozen people were shot.including two children. police are looking for. you see him here. white shirt, blue jeans. off to the left.away from the crowd. moments later.he approaches the people. reaches into his pants. pulls out a gun and starts shooting. the crowd then runs.some fall to the grouit looks like tt

plead 'not guilty by reason of insanity.' he's charged with killing 12 people and wounding dozens of others last july. his attorneys say they now - but didnt the judge has not decided yet whether to let holmes change the plea.but that could happen by the end of the month. today's hearing. a philadelphia abortion doctor could face the death penalty. this is kermit goznell -- who was convicted today of murdering three babies in illegal, late-term abortions. prosecutors say the babies were born alive - and goznell then killed them with scissors. he was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of a woman patient. the jury will return later this month to hear evidence on whether the 72-year-old should be executed. >> sonny taps guys out there today. as to look ahead to

shock and anger in the the 12 year old boy they reached out to at vigils for his murdered sister. now named as her killer. more sound a mother who lost her daughter, now facing the loss of her son. arrest-oncam sot sidebar there is finally an arrest in the murder of an eight- girl. but who is under leila fowler's own 12-year- this past saturday afternoon. some of his classmates aren't surprised. here's what we know. over two thousand hours were put into this investigation, according to calaveras county sheriff. the sheriff says he believes the town can sleep a little easier with the arrest. over the last two weeks, fowler's brother had only attended school once.

school superintendent. and the mother of leila fowler told a sacramento station her brother was kron-4's j-r stone spoke to people there. and they say valley springs didn't just lose one child. it lost two. >> the shares department kept quiet about this case. the neighbors are talking and they have some serious questions about the fowler family. >> you just a week up some morning and think i'll kill my little sister and neighbor says >> it hurts one neighbor says. don't make me cry it hurts a neighbor says. you know you have a 12 year old kid his new life is ruined.

family will hold a press conference at 3:30. you their words and emotions on the kron-4 news at five. a massive manhunt is underway in northern california. authorities are searching for 45-year-old shane miller, who is suspected of killing his wife and two young daughters in their home in shasta county last week. swat teams, police and federal coast,in a remote section of humboldt county. kron 4's and a closer look at the area. shane miller's family was found murdered last tuesday near shingletown, which is here in rural shasta county. this is about 200 miles north of san francisco. the next day, miller's pickup truck was spotted about 130 miles to the west near the town of petrolia in humboldt county. it was found... abandoned.. here... along mattole road. this is a google street view of where the truck was found.. as you can see this is a very rural area with rolling hills and thick brush..it's believed that miller grew up here and that he may have spent time in a nearby cabin. more than 70 law enforcement officers are now searching for the suspect in these hills and valleys.

the rugged terrain, thick forests and limited access has made the search difficult. also, heavy coastal fog has blanketed the area in recent days, limiting visibility. authorities have also brought in a pair of helicopters and an armored vehicle to assist with the search. shane miller is believed to be armed. he is considered extremely dangerous. they also think that because he grew up nearby, he may be familiar with the terrain. local residents are being asked to report any unusual activity, to stay inside and lock their doors after dark. clifford kron 4 news. police in lake county need year-old girl who went missing over the weekend. mikaela lynch went missing yesterday -- mother's day -- from her home in clearlake. and lynch is not your average nine-year-old girl. she's autistic -- and reportedly left the house naked. also, mikaela can't speak and has the mental capactiy the search expanded to a nearby waterway -- where her diaper and other clothing items were found, but the trail ended there.

anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the clearlake police department or the lake county sheriff's office. the federal government has agreed to review repairs plans for the new eastern span of the bay bridge. as you know, 32 cracked bolts were discovered, prompting state officials to come up with a fix. kron 4's dan kerman is here to explain just what the federal government will be doing. the toll bridge oversight program committee which is the lead agency overseeing construction of the new span is the organization that requested the federal governments help as you know, this group is deciding on how to repair the cracked bolts, and which ones need repair before the new span opens. administration has been asked to assemble a team to double check the committee's findings and recommendations make sure their solution is the best and safest possible they discussed this at their

>> we're asking for the federal highway administration to bring their expertise. that once we make a judgment day will concur. if the federal high when administration does not agree then we will have a new problem and we will have to go through that. but the purpose is not necessarily to get an answer to say that you all right. we are willing to do that. >> this committee has already come out with a plan to repair those cracks posed >> they have already decided how to repair those cracked bolts by the end of the month we should know just how many they plan to repair and replace before the new span opens and if that will impact the scheduled labor day weeeknd opening of the bridge. ultimately, who will make the final decision that the bridge is ready to open. well it won't be the feds. they are here in an advisory role now the committee

overseeing the construction of the bridge has said the governor will have final say so but the governor's office says this is not a political decision, they say it is an engineering problem, addressed by engineers, meaning those who are currently overseeing the project san jose freeway overpasses and train trestles will be getting a new coat of paint this week. not all of them, just those that have become genuine eyesores in recent years as a result of graffiti vandalism. now city crews are teaming up with caltrans and the southern pacific railroad to paint over the graffiti. trestles over highway 10i at 13th street and mckee avenue will be first, followed by a 3rd trestle over interstate 280 at bird avenue, among others. city councilman sam liccardo says residents are fed up with the
