its been a very violent week. san jose police coping with a wave of drive by shootings and suspected gang killing. the year's 20th fatality. is the fourth this week. may has been an especially deadly month for san jose. four drive-by shootings in the city ends with one person dead. .and the homicide rate keeps climbing. here's the latest. this was the 20th homicide in the city this year. there have been seven of them since may 8th. that's over one-third of the total. this week alone, three of the four victims have been teenagers. if we keep up this pace, san for the year -- the most since 1991. to the family of the latest victim. a violent night, say police, that saw four drive- by shootings. no one was hurt, until the last of the lead stopped flying, here on audobon drive. >> officers responded and

live in america. ever. if the rising home prices don't make you happy, this next report won't either. the cost of living in san francisco was 69 percent higher than the national average in the first quarter of 20-13. that ranks fourth in the country. the only places higher -- manhattan. brooklyn. and honolulu. oakland is 41 percent higher. the city of vallejo is cracking down on blight caused by foreclosed homes left vacant. here's stack of letters about to be sent out to banks letting them know they need to register foreclosed homes and pay a nearly $400 dollar fee. if the house is empty, then the bank needs to send them monthly reports with proof that they are inspecting and maintaining the property. the city's code enforcement manager showed us an example of what can happen when a foreclosed home is left neglected. >> a. for close bacon property is a fire hazard.
