are watching the weather this morning as we are watching a rise in temperatures for the weekend. >> breaking news this morning, bart is seen major delays through the trans bay terminal. kron4 sole reporter jackie sissel is live from the west oakland bart station with an update on the back up we are seeing. >> they are recommending that if you can you should find a different way of transportation due to this. this all started about 3:00 a.m. and went to maintenance vehicles collided inside of the trans bay tube. according to the spokesperson from bart they stated they were on the tracks closer to oakland. they aren't usually used

for the west to east down lines. they stated it does not matter because of the track is shut down and that they have to single track through the trans bay to which means that it will be a major delays. we did have a chance to talk to jim allison and he talked about his recommendations for people who normally take bart. >> i think the safest thing for people to do if they're concerned is to just know that bart is operating on reduce capacity and that if you can please find a different way. >> last year we had a fire and this time is not cshut down completely. they will have to wait until one train completely clears before the next of kin go. this means that major delays and their

stated somewhere between 38 minutes to an hour if not more. the big take away from this is that they hope that people get notified before deck slate died in. they want to let them know that there are major delays a.c. transit runs a lot of this area and the buses. there is not enough of them to go wrong. that will be crowded as well. if you normally take bart you should expect major delays this morning. we will update to every hour on any more a case that we are having.

day around the bay the temperatures will peak tomorrow and then a gradual cooling trend for the latter part of the week. >> with all of the damage to the third rail there are major delays on bart. >> even if you are taking bargains you are not going through the trans bay tube you still will be delayed. it will be from 20 minutes to one hour. if you have a flight to catch you will still encounter delays as much as 20 minutes. you may want to use the caltran we do have a list of their schedule. as of right now caltran doesn't have any delays if you are taking ac transit because you are not driving the trend base service is running and this are for the alphabet buses. this will get you out of the east over the bridge into the temporary area. i do

want to talk about the bridges because there impacted. the bay bridge plaza has some of that is blazing and the traffic is backed up. the traffic is more back to the yesterday when it was just a motorcycle accident. we do not have been incidents to report up the traffic is slow and go. major delays even if you normally do not even take bart. >> the san mateo bridge is looking good and i am sure a lot of people will be heading to this bridge. so far so good the drive time is 14 minutes across the span. there are a few people coming from richmond and perhaps berkeley down to the golden gate to get themselves into a san francisco. we are

not knowing what is going gone. just to get the word out, if you have not heard to maintenance vehicles around 3:00 this morning collided inside the trans baytown all. this caused a major track damage to the rail. it basically is rendering one of the two tracks useless for at least the morning commute and potentially longer than that. to put it into perspective the spokesperson said on a noble nor morning about three trading due to go through the tunnel and hour, right now we're at eight trains and our use expect major delays systemwide from every direction. if you normally travel on bart you should expect at least 30 men at delays. probably closer to an hour. there are several hundred feet of damage

inside the third rail. that is a system that actually powers the train. you have to replace some of it as well as 40 ceramic insulators. there is a fire last year in the same thing happened, they had to replace those insulators. they will have to replace them inside the transit a tunnel as well. it is not very often that bart would say take another mode of transportation but that is exactly what they are saying. >> i think the safest thing for people if they're concerned about getting to work is to simply know that bart is operating at a reduced capacity. if you can't, find a different way to get to work.

track to and came across the platform one and have been here ever since. this is over 20 minutes. however, what can you do? you just wait the alternatives are too long or too far to get to. >> and that is the issue, a lot of people do not have an alternative to get to their destination. you have a big way. it looks like there is a preference for the east bay people to come into this city. for people trying to get out of san francisco, they are waiting longer on the platform. as a totally on official remarked there, just an observation. it seems like people are

at jammed up from the bay bridge toll plaza this morning. traffic edging closer to the end of the macarthur maze. we're also seeing delays on the nimitz with delays that we don't typically see especially on a friday morning. we don't have any reports for the bridge itself but we of drive times and up bridge of 21 minutes out of oakland approaching fourth street san francisco. even if you do not generally take bart, you have to wait in traffic with everyone else. people will also be headed to the san mateo bridge but this is looking to be a pretty nice ride. expect delays but the drive time is just 14 to 15 minutes. people used to take bart out of berkeley, perhaps richmond or el cerrito well had across the san revell bridge which is currently delayed freak and down to the golden gate. there is still lot of space you to in the cars. drive times from about two san francisco is still under 30 minutes. we'll see some delays getting to the san

mateo bridge, traffic includes increases that the span closer to the high- rise. there is some delays out of livermore, read on your screen indicate speeds below 25 mi. per hour. so far so good in the south bay. >> 61 a m and we will go to any other big story, it is friday and it will be warm and we are headed into a little heat pop. tomorrow will be extra toes the inland. >> will also feel some testing as today in your inland spots with 90s on the board. the san mateo bridge shows it is a clear start to the day with temperatures running on the chilly side. certain areas city in the '40's and half of bay city at 43, upper 40's in daly city. as we head into the afternoon it will get pretty hot in here inland spots. he

was the increase in fire danger, the red flag warning has been issued. this goes into effect today at 10:00 a.m. lasting until 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. the combination of just getting 2 30 mi. per hour with relatively low humidity is really increasing the fire danger. into the evening, we're expecting clear and warm temperatures. by noon all this or to a year inland grain indicating '80s for the bay shore and 60s indicated by the green for the coastal areas. but in the clock into motion, all the red indicates some nineties. it will get pretty hot today. it also a pretty warm into the evening hours. by 8:00, still dealing with some '70s and some eighties out there. in the south bay, low 80s expected first

temperatures over 10 degrees warmer compared to yesterday, 93 antioch, 91 concord, mid-70s richmond, low 80's at san leandro. downtown san francisco loves '70s. we will feel the sea breeze that will keep coastal areas cooler today, only getting into the mid- 60s for ocean beach. in the north bay, a low eighties for a petaluma and novato and 90 and napa up. 7 day around the bay you can see temperatures speaking with the fire danger sticking around for tomorrow till 7:00 p.m.. will feel that on shore flow cooled things off on sunday. coastal temperatures dropping down to the mid-60s and the gradual cooling will stick around and your work week. >> 6:53 a.m. and we'll be back with our full team coverage of the traffic this morning. you think, on kron4. we have more traffic than any other station.
