possibilities until that person comes forward. we will not make any assumptions and not speculate at all as to what may or may not have happened. >>catherine: more details now. according to court documents. the accused teacher had photos of a woman -- and was also in possession of her underwear. he allegedly had a key to the woman's home -- and took the clothing when she was out of town the photos allegedly had the woman's face cropped onto photos of other women. the attorney for the accused teacher has released a statement. saying no one should jump to any conclusions as to whether rick styner committed a crime. we'll hear why he says there is 'not' sufficient evidence in the case. that's tonight on our show at eight. >>grant:12:45 this morning. three people shot outside the shadow ultra lounge night club.a block and a half from the 12th st bart station near city hall.

you can see evidence of all the bullets that were flying. police say some people were kicked out after an argument broke out inside the club. once outside.someone started shooting into a crowd of people. two women in their 20's and a security guard were injured.shop owners and >> bank banqg. >> rapid succession. >>grant: police are checking the club's surveillance cameras to try to identified any suspects.the three victims are all expecetd to recover. but this moring's night club shooting is just one of several shootings in oakland over the weekend. three people were shot at at what's called a side-

show. this was near mac-arthur blvd and 106th avenue early saturday morning. these side-shows are illegal. it's where cars show up.and basially shut down a road- way.the drivers doing donuts and other dangerous maneuvers. critical condition as a result of a shooting at this side-show. two males were also treated at a hospital, but those injuries are not life- threatening. meanwhile there were at least four other shootings in oakland over the weekend.one of them deadly. a person was killed early sunday morning.and two others were hurt in a shooting at international boulevard and 90th avenue. also.three shootings satuday night. 9:10 - 65th ave and eastlawn street.female shot. 10:05 - 1900 73rd ave - 2 male victims. 10:15 - 78th and bancroft aves - 1 male victim. no arrests made.

he was not just there to witness these violent assaults, but he played an active sexual parts and the act. >>catherine: peters attorney had their chance at opening arguments and they admit he was at the scene but they say his dna was found on a beer can at the scene and it was not semen found on the condom but it was something called a dna that could have blown in from a different car at the scene. there's actually no proof they say that he was involved in committing any of the sexual act and the jury should keep an open mind as they listen to the evidence. this is just the start of the trial. there is another suspect and his opening arguments in his trial will get underway tomorrow. reporting live at the courthouse here martinez, dan kerman, kron 4 news. >>catherine:jury selection began today at the trial for accused serial killer joseph nay-so. the 79-year-old is charged

with killing four women in northern california, between 1977 and 1994. twelve jurors and nine alternates will be picked. the trial is expected to last until november. op in june. nay=so is representing himself -- but does have an advisory counsel.. if convicted, he could face the death penalty. a grassfire burned part of a park in san jose today. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc7 news. the fire seemed to be fairly close to some homes. but they were not damaged or ever in danger. it happened this afternoon, at story road and roberts avenue. firefighters at least check were getting a handle on the fire.. no one was hurt. the hot dry weather doesn't help in situations like that. but ---there are some changes ahead. i'm here in the weather kron4 weather center with chief meteorologist jacqueline bennet. with a check on the foreacst. >>jacqueline: taking a look right now from

the golden gate bridge, we can see the fog on our satellite image. very close to the coast line. this is going to bump back along the coast line tonight and spreading throughout the bay area and 2 tomorrow morning. temperatures this afternoon a lot cooler, we were in the '60s and '70s. still in the '80s out and antioch. 77 and pleasanton at this hour, 60 in san francisco. as a look ahead to tonight, widespread fraud. let's take a look at where we are expecting that fog. pretty much everywhere. this is the 6:00 hour tomorrow morning. very widespread fog conditions the north bay. patchy fog for the south bay. tomorrow, temperatures will be about the same as today. and has been cooler because of a fog, but we are going to warm up through the rest of the workweek. how conditions for friday. i'll have your complete forecast, coming up.

>>grant: were learning more about the power house fire. officials just announced nearly 3000 people can return home after being forced to evacuate. it is bigsheriff's official: nearly 3,000 people can return home after evacuating amid calif. wildfire. 5 or 6 homes destroyed.15 others damaged. burned almost 30-thousand acres. there were up to one- thousand homes threatened. doubled in size in less than 24 hours.

wants to do something new. lockyer - who's held an elected position since 1968 - has served as attorney general and senate president pro tem. he says his decision was not influenced by his wife, nadia lockyer, who resigned as an alameda county supervisor - amid a series of public substance abuse and relationship struggles. >>grant:a contra costa county case of hepatitis-a appears to be linked to a recently recalled batch of frozen berries sold at costco stores. a 62-year-old woman from east contra costa county was hospitalized with hepatitis-a last month.but has since recovered. health officials say she bought the townsend farms organic antioxidant blend of frozen berries that was the subject of a multi-state recall. the centers for disease control officials say the at least 30 people have been impacted. townsend farms says the outbreak has been traced to a type of pomegranate seeds from turkey that are in its fruit mix. the oregon-based company says the mix is now off the health officials are still investigating whether the berries might be sold at

to the middle of the river where there's a large bolder. he was hanging out on the boulder having fun and when it was time for him to swim back, he got back in the water, started swimming back and as he was coming out of the water and onto the shore the current caught him again and swept him and he was unable to recover. >>catherine:rangers spent the weekend searching for him. it's considered "impossible" that he could have survived. the 19-year-old sacramento resident was at the park with a church group. word of the suspended search came the same day as news that a climber fell to his death at the park sunday. 28-year-old felix kiernan of london was killed. he was about 600 feet up a climbing path when when a large rock fell and hit him. angelina jolie and brad pitt step out together at a zombie movie premiere. it's the first time since she announced her double mastectomy details, ahead.

a zombie thriller. it was a star studded event - but all eyes were on one - in particular. angelina jolie steps out onrpett time since revealing she underwent a double mastectomy. with longtime partner brad pitt at her side, jolie attended the london premier of world war z, starring pitt. last month, the actress wrote an op-ed piece disclosing she'd tested positive for the gene mutation linked to an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer and decided to undergo the preventative procedure. jolie's mom and aunt both died of cancer. r michael douglas' publicist is backing away from a report about what caused the actor's throat cancer. "the guardian" newspaper reports that in an interview douglas revealed his throat cancer was caused by having contracted the human papillomavirus through oral sex. his publicist tells c-n-n douglas never specifically pointed to h-p-v as the

cause. but says the actor simply stated that it was one of many possible causes. the 68-year-old was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. he is now cancer-free after extensive chemotherapy. ♪

funnel cloud suddenly swerved towards their car. kron four's grant lodes is here with that story. grant? >>grant: okay, first let's set the scene. the tornados hit the town of el reno, just west of oklahoma city on interstate 40. it's just a few miles from moore, devastated by another tornado 11 days earlier. when the new storms arrived last friday, storm chasers three of them never came back. you're watching mother nature at work and all the dynamics ,,, it's fantastic tim samaras spent 25 years chasing tornados. the safest place to be is right here inside this vehicle. >>grant:on friday a tornado caught up with him. the mangled wreckage of his vehicle shows the power of the storm that killed him, his son and a colleague. the erratic path of the

storm caught other crews unaware. >>"duck down. we're going to die!" brendan sullivan came face to face with one twister., but managed to survive without a scratch. weather channel photographer austin anderson was part of another team caught up in the same violent system. >>"when we realize we weren't going to make it because the storm took a very quick left turn." abruptly he says the tornado made a bee-line right for them. lifting their vehicle 30 feet in the air and throwing it from the road. anderson suffered several broken back bones, but vows to keep at it. >>"says is everybody ok? is everybody ok? says yes, yes. well let's see if we can get out." >>"i've seen a lot of these in my career, but never been that close and i was trying to get away from the storm at that point, but getting picked up, tumbling, being airborne, it was violent, it was it was rough. truly the scariest moment of my life." three days later, the storm chasing fraternity mourning their losses, but planning for the future. >>we don't go out here to

hurt ourselves, we go out to warn, tim, out of everybody was out to learn and out to teach people about storms. >>hopefully do a little soul searching and try to figure out what we need to do to try to stay safer out there. >>terisa:a federal grand jury has >>catherine: indicted a mississippi man suspected of sending poison-laced letters to president accused of producing and threatening the president and others and trying to impede the investigation. life in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. dusky - who was arrested in april - denies the charges. new tonight. the u-s supreme court ruled today that police can collect d-n-a from criminal suspects without first getting a warrant. the vote was a very close 5-to-4. the ruling involved a maryland case where a man was convicted of rape based on a d-n-a sample taken during an arrest on an unrelated charge. the justices decided the dna testing did not violate the fourth amendment which protects people from unreasonable search and twenty-six states and the federal government allow genetic swabs to be taken

today thanks to the fog. but we will warm right back up towards the end of the week. i will show you your extended forecast coming up. >>catherine:caltrans has started a major new project along interstate 580 that could slow down traffic getting onto and off the richmond-san rafael bridge for several months. kron 4's charles clifford shows us what's happening. >>charles: this is an overhead view of the richmond san rafeal bridge. this is the toll plaza on sunday, caltrans began work on this section of interstate 580. the work is blocking all of the traffic lanes. what caltran has done is closed down all westbound travel and drivers heading westbound towards the richmond san rafael bridge are being de toward right here. they have to bear left across the median

and onto the eastbound side of interstate 580 right here. each direction will have two lanes of travel. the eastbound and westbound lanes and it is going to be a tight fit. there will be no shoulder here so if there is an accident, it could cause major delays in both directions. also now there is also a 45 mi. per hour speed limit throughout this area. this entire detour is about a quarter of a mile long. when you get past, you return to the normal side of interstate 580 just before the toll plaza. western dry, there is an on ramp on to 580. this is going to be close down while this construction is going on. this entire project is expected to last about three months and the news room, charles clifford, kron4 nonews. >>grant: to the wild stock-

to the wild fire we are following. residents are now able to return home. you can see smoke filling the southern california skies. we recently learned that nearly 3000 people can return home after being forced to evacuate. you're looking at video from just a short time ago. even if you could see the intense flames. six homes already destroyed, 15 other homes damaged. 30,000 a. have been damaged. doubles in size in less than 24 hours over the weekend. there's one small area there remains under a mandatory evacuation order. fire crews really have their hands full. this is 46 mi. long. --wide. the fire is now 40 percent contained. crews are now starting to get the upper hand but they have a lot of work to do. we ♪

a violent weekend in the bay area. shootings at a sideshow in oakland. and an upsurge in gang violence in san jose that has led to calls for the c=h=p to step in. early this morning.three people shot outside the shadow ultra lounge night club.a block and a half from the 12th st bart station near city hall. two women in their 20's and a security guard were injured.but are expected to survive. also in oakland.a woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a side-show car display.at macarthur and 106th avenue. those two of at least six shootings over the weekend in oakland. in san francisco.a man was found fatally shot in the outer sunset. a family friend found the 67-year old male victim in a garage. fatally shot in a garage. no arrests jave been made. and in san jose.two violent incidents friday night.

a fatal stabbing in west san jose near where 280 and 880 intersect. also friday night in.a gang related shooting in east san jose near story road and east capitol expressway. the shooting around 5:00 friday night left one man in serious condition. its 21st homicide of the year. a man was stabbed to death in west san jose. it was the fifth homicide that week, and the eighth agency to help with the increase in violence. kron-4's rob fladeboe has the story. >>rob: jose acting police chief larry esquivel, tem nora campos, citing what the california highway violence. police need outside help. shooting. could be the most violent pas outside help is needed to city in america. in san

jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news. >>catherine: he outside an oakland club sent 2 womena security guard to the hospital. it happened at the shadow ultra lounge on 13th street and webster. some of the bullets pierced furniture storelanding in a leather sofa the first time there's been violence at a club in that spot. police are checking the suspects.the three victims are all expected to recover. there was also violence across the bay. in san francisco, a 67-year- old man was shot and killed neighborhood.. a family friend found him. no arrests have been made. anyone with information is san francisco police. >>grant:san jose firefighters fire reported at happy hollow park this afternoon. a seven-acre fire that sent a lot of smoke into the air. helicopter partnership with a-b-c-7. it happened near senter and

story roads, just south of interstate 280. cal-fire was called in to assist in fighting the fire. no structures or businesses were threatened. the closest business is the happy hollow zoo. but the zoo remained open. a spokesperson says the fire wasn't close enough to force any evacuations. the san jose fire department says the fire is contained but not yet under control. firefighters will stay there catherine? >>catherine:police have charged a san leandro high school teacher with possession of child pornography and burglary after a lesson in his computer class went horribly wrong. during a computer class of 45-year old richard styner police say he accidenlty showed students a naked picture of himself. the lesson was supposed to be on how to transfter photographs from your phone, to a computer. styner told adminstrators about the incident.and police started an investigation. that investigation revealed disturbing photographs and over 200 pornographic stories on his school computer. and images of his neighbors underwear. kron 4 spoke to a student who was in the class and saw her teacher's very innapropriate pose.

styner has taught at san leandro high school for 15- years. he is now on un-paid administrative leave. he has not been arrested. only charged. his lawyer tells kron 4 news. there is not sufficient evidence to convict styner. he is due in court june 10th. opening statements began today.in the trial against pas of the men charged in the gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl. it happened at richmond high school back in 2009. this video from the crime scene. it was the night of the homecoming dance, when prosecutors say at least 7 men and maybe as many as 20 attacked the girl, who they in and out of consciousness kron-4's dan kerman is live at the courthouse in today's opening statements. dan.

>>catherine:caltrans has started road that could cause traffic delays for drivers on the richmond san- rafael bridge. caltrans has launched a project to retrofit some overpass bridges in the area and the work is expected to last for months. kron 4's charles clifford has more on what drivers can expect. >>charles: this is an overhead google earth view of the r rafael bridge looking east. here's the toll plaza.. this is the chevron refinery... on sunday, caltrans started a project to replace the road decks of four overpass bridges here to the east of the plaza. the first phase of the project will involve work here along the west bound lanes of 580. in order to finish the work, all of the west bound lanes here will need to be shut down for about 3 months. during that time, west bound traffic driving towards the bridge will be detoured across the median.. here...and onto the east bound lanes. for about a quarter of a mile, east and west bound drivers will share the roadway with two lanes in each direction. now it's going to be a tight fit here and there won't be any shoulder. so if a car breaks down here it could cause major traffic delay. the speed limit through the detour area has been reduced to 45 miles per hour once west bound drivers get around the construction zone, they will veer right back into the normal lanes
