and it requires the records to go to the national security agency. this was signed on april 26th. this order requires the location at times and the duration of calls. this does not require verizon to divulge the contents of the conversation. those are still protected. verizon declined to comment on this report. this morning, a senior obama administration official defended the idea of such an order, that this type of information described in this report has been critical tool in protecting the nation from terrorist attacks. >> new and startling developments abroad in the investigation into the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. the entire

government legal team investigating the blast has resigned. according to the central city officials, four of the california public utilities commission lawyers quit. they were the commissioner's main experts on the 2010 blast that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes. several city officials are now calling on the state attorney general to look into the reasoning behind the resignations. the news comes as the agency was to decide a fine for pg&e. agency investigators recently called for pg&e to be fined 2.2 $5 billion. >> customers are worried after a pharmacy employee who worked at two east bay target stores test positive for hepatitis a. the employee who worked at the pharmacy at both the hayward and san leandro target stores 8 the contaminated, and now recalled, towns and

>> the time is 6:10 a.m.. a man who was fatally shot by police in vallejo was armed with a modified flare gun. this is a photo of that's a flare gun. police identified the man as 40 year-old timothy john walker. just after 7:00 p.m. tuesday night, police responded to reports of a loud fight inside a boat at the marina. when there rob walker pointed the weapon and officer. the officer drew his gun and shot the suspect who later died. according to police the flare gun was modified to be a hand-held shotgun with a reinforced breach. the officer was not injured and has been placed on leave while the department investigates the incident. >> a house that caught on
