east bay municipal utility district have approved an increase to customers water rates by nearly 20 percent over the next two years. east bay mud says that the rate increase will support a two-year mud--budget plan which focuses on maintenance and and for structure worked--infrastructure work. more customers-as most customers who spoke at a board meeting yesterday oppose the rate hike. but a majority of board members said that the 90 year-old water agencies the rate increase to replace aging pipes and other equipment. the 19.75 percent water rate increase goes into effect july 1st. >>james: the oldest african-
