popular shuckers bar and grill in north bay village. the accident happened as miami fans had gathered to watch the nba playoff game. investigators are on the scene today - trying to figure out exactly what went >> catherine: this was the scene last night as two dozen people were taken to the hospital. most of them were treated and released.and even two of the badly injured victims have been sent home. tonight - only one person remains hospitalized. >> pam: san jose's fire chief is moving. william mcdonald is leaving his post to become chief of the las vegas fire department. mcdonald. who goes by the name "willie" became san jose's fire chief in august 20-10. he begins his new job in las vegas this summer.

three people are recovering >> pam: tonight after a car slams into a forklift operator at a san francisco produce market. kron 4's mike pelton shows us the dramatic pictures moments after the crash. and why witnesses aren't surprised the accident happened. >> reporter:. cellphone video of but which of the accident after the crash. kron4 clocked the white car hit the forklift sending it off to its side. two people were hurt inside the car. sent to nearby hospitals and expected to survive. police will investigate this accident and see if speed was the speed play a role in this accident. >> maybe a few feet. he was away fast assuming about 50

six months ago, newtown connecticut was the scene one of the worst mass murders in american history. >> pam: twenty children and six adults died in adam lanza's shooting rampage. >> pam: today the families of victims gathered to renew their push for tighter gun controls. >> pam: catherine heenan is here to tell us about their successes and setbacks. >> catherine: the tragedy brought us heartbreaking images. it also created a new group of dedicated activists. jillan led the moment of silence in newtown today. their sister vicky was one of the teachers who died last december, >> just like the other five educators. they fought to save sandy hook, and now we're fighting to save everybody else. >> catherine: the surviving sisters have joined with other victims' relatives in lobbying for gun control. some of them met with senators as well as the president and vice president this week, but their impact on capitol hill has been small. last april the senate tabled a proposal to expand background checks for gun purchases. states have adopted background checks. and five have banned high capacity magazines. far more states have looseened their gun laws. seven of them have closed their public
