>> follow developing story out of fairfield where a motel was evacuated due to a grass fire. kron4 jackie sissel is live a motel 6 on suisun valley road in fairfield details. >> it was very scary moments for the guests here last night. if you can see some of the tape about 15 to 20 of the runs. here is video from yesterday's according to fire officials about 7:00 p.m. the received a call about a grass fire. it is not far away from highway 80. the fire itself was not that big but because of the wheel and it pushed fire to the nearby motel six and alternately it went up into the attic. i had a chance to speak with the on call manager and she stated about 45 of the rooms are

occupied and because the fire has spread all the people that were stated at the tel had to be evacuated. it took them awhile to get up there to get the fire out. it went to three alarms. according to the manager said that most of the people who came back were able to get their belongings. the motel is self will probably remain closed today or maybe a couple days until a building inspector goes over what happened. of the roads have severe damage with water and smoke. luckily come all all of them even the ones on the third floor able to get out without any injuries. >> the city of san jose is

suing a major league baseball tried to kick start their effort to get the a's to the south bay. city leaders say that the league has been dragging their feet for four years long. they stated that it is costing san jose millions of dollars in revenue. the a's owner lew wolff wants to move his team from oakland to south bay. the giants argued that they hold territory rights to san jose dating back to when the giants considered moving there. that was before at&t park was built. the giants are blocking the move by the a's and the leak is not doing anything about it. supporters of the bulls say that a 1922 ruling that makes baseball exempt from antitrust laws is outdated. >> oakland is working on a

firefighters are not trying to contain a wildfire in the foothills of mayor pose a county california. the smoke from the carstensz fire has been so severe that a health warning has been posted for neighboring merced county. the fire has caused nearly 1000 people to flee their homes. the evacuation orders, as the fire has burned more than 1,600 a. in containment remained at 15%, as of monday evening. a spokesman for cal fire says the fire was started by an unattended cap camp fire.

an influential republican senator says the irs is about to pay $70 million in employee bonuses. this comes despite and obama administration directed to cancel discretionary bonuses because of automatic spending cuts. senator chuck grassley of iowa says his office as learned of the irs is executing an agreement with the employees' union today to pay the bonuses. he says the bomb as they should be cancelled under an april directive from the white house budget office. the irs says it is negotiating with the union over the matter. >> afghan president hamid karzai and has suspended talks with the taliban and with u.s. over as security agreement. following the taliban announcement it will hold its own talks with washington. the announcement comes just after the group

cities are reviving for a push against letting government food vouchers be used myself and others agree drinks. mayors of new york, los angeles, chicago and the teen others sent a letter to congress sang " it's time to test and evaluate approaches to limiting the use of subsidies for sugar laden beverages ". it's all part of a campaign to fight obesity and related diseases. new york mayor michael bloomberg says the food stamp program needs to promote good nutrition it should not be used for items with no additional value. the usda has not, commented on the letter. >> the house is considering cutting food stamps by 2 billion a year and make it more difficult for some people to qualify for the domestic food aid program. passage of a five-year, half a billion dollar farm bill could depend on the level of cuts to the $80 billion a
