>> banf >> pam: now at six. >> pam: trouble on bart. vagrants. tonight kron four shows you why some bart workers say their jobs are dangerous. and why some of those claims may not be true. in a new tactic to inform the public during contract talks. officials with bart's biggest union say, chances are. you have either seen, or been nearby some criminal activity. at a bart station. in three years, more than eleven - hundred passengers and more than a hundred workers have been harassed or attacked on bart property. and that's not all. they add. in just five stations over the last three years, almost 25- hundred serious crimes took place.

the bart chief of police is required to report the most serious to the f-b-i. in 2012 alone, there were 51 trauma- related injuries. almost twice as many as the year before. but all of the assaults on bart property. may not be as they appear. one such case is now being turned over to the alameda county district attorney. en members continue to stall. kron 4 has learned new information about a bart employee, who the district attorney says, lied about being attacked on the job. kron 4's justine waldman has the story.she is live tonight at the west oakland bart station. justine? >> reporter: what i want to show you right now is this video. the district attorney saying that this employee lied. tonight, we're going

to hear about a bart spokesperson of what what that tape really show and he said it gives me my ticket! but there was never really any touching. the station agent did not appear to be touched. >> we have had people that have guns pulled on them, knives this is reprehensible, and it is

insulting >> reporter: the district attorney did not released that video. we tried to see it for ourselves. this video is part of the investigation that is currently ongoing. what this boils down to according to bart is that the union is trying to use safety as a smokescreen during contract talks. safety is a serious concern. this is also whether or not bart will be running if there is a contract negotiation. and as far as employment? bart is not commenting. to read >> pam: reporting live, thank you, justine waldman. >> pam: here we are. only nine days until san francisco's possible "car- mageddon." the contract between bart and its biggest unions.

expires june 30th. and the headaches that can result from a possible strike will be intense. july 1st is the target date as the current union contract ends. and if there is a strike, hundreds of thousands of people will to get around the bay area. kron-4 wants you to be prepared for that day. and our charles clifford explains your options. >> reporter: more than 300 thousand people ride bart on the average weekday. if the system slows down or stops because of strike, many people will be forced to drive or carpool, but for commuters who need public transit there are a few options. one of the busiest bart routes is the transbay tube between san francisco and the east bay, if it shuts down there are alternatives. the san francisco bay ferry runs boats from san francisco and south san francisco to oakland, alameda and vallejo. ac transit which operates mainly in the inner east bay...emeryville, oakland and hayward....does have a route that crosses the bay bridge but it only makes one stop in san francisco at the transbay terminal. along the peninsula, caltrain offers service between san francisco and milbrae, which could be a limited alternative to bart.

in the east bay, amtrak runs dozens' of daily trains between martinez, berkeley, oakland and san jose. and finally, if it appears that a strike is going to happen we expect that bart and the other transit agencies will make adjustments to their routes and service schedules to accommodate commuters as best they can. in the newsroom, charles clifford kron 4 news. >> and just in to the kron- 4 newsroom. the san francisco fire department says a van has gone into the water at marina green. jeff bush? >> reporter: this is a frantic scene right now that every now green. and the divers are on that boat trying to locate that car that went into the water. this was reporter around 5:00 p.m. about one hour ago. this woman was driving her car at a high rate of speed and ended up in the

water. we're also hearing about people on the boat that they were trying to rescue the driver. we understand that that car slowly sunk into the bay. very understand that their occupants were inside that car. they are trying to save that woman. there is a coast guard helicopter, the san francisco fire department and also other emergency vehicles. right now, we are hearing that there is a car that is the drive and into the bay. san francisco police, san francisco fire are trying to locate that vehicle. jeff bush, kron 4 news.also, fourth street/howard st, there is a diesel this bill. traffic

also, going to the giants game has created a major problems. with a diesel-- fuel spill. a huge flooding problem continues in calgary, alberta. there's now a state of emergency - and roughly 75-thousand people have been evacuated from their homes. rain-swollen rivers are running high and overflowing their banks. streets are flooded.and power is out in parts of the city evacuations in 25 calgary neighborhoods were ordered overnight. canada's prime minister is offering to help. and people are being reminded to pay attention if asked to evacuate. community leaders say people are working together. >> "and, as tragic as it is to see the streets of so many communities empty of people and full of water, and to think of the thousands of people who have been displaced, it's incredible how we come together in times like this." >> catherine: in other parts of the province raging flood waters have ripped out roads and tore away a chunk of the

the car he was reportedly driving was found abandoned in san francisco. bellard is 5-9 and 170 pounds. his whereabouts is asked to call the san mateo police department. >> a burglary suspect barricades himself inside an apartment in a west oakland housing complex on 7th and adeline. it started around 10:45amwhen a man broke into the oakland school police research office on union streetthe armed buglary suspect fled on a bicycle into an apartment complexwhere police say he held a family hostage >> he went into a residence that was occupied. he went into that residents to another residence. our concern with that stage of this investigation incident is a fact we received information that he was armed with a gun. there were several people inside of the president. >> >> pam: many people were
