good conditions. >>mark: anticipation is building about the proposition a decision that will come down a dusty hour. after over nine years of uncertainty and confusion and california, the high court will decide whether same-sex marriage will be legal in our state. and prop. 8 is a declared unconstitutional. as we watched the crowd gathered. the whole nation watching to see what this decision. let's talk about the possible scenarios that we are watching several options. at the simplest is that proposition it is declared unconstitutional making gay marriage legal nationwide. the second scenario is proposition 8 is rejected on a more narrow grounds which means they merritt is a legal only in california. the third option is that proposition 8 is upheld and what it will then take a voter initiative to

overturn the proposition. and the fourth and final scenario one of the most court watchers say is the most likely is that the new group defending proposition 8 had no legal standing to do so as it was to protect the marriage was defended prop. 8 after the name defendants in the governor and attorney general refused to do so which means the lower court's ruling stands and proposition 8 is declared unconstitutional. three of the four scenarios are that prop. 8 is unconstitutional. we will keep following the latest as we wait for the court decision to come down. >>james: kron4's will tran is standing by live at severed his go city hall where we are expecting hundreds if not thousands of people who congregate there as that decision comes down. >>will: the crowds are not here yet but people are here at stanford to go city hall.

about seven people we do expect a lot of them to come down as we get closer to the decision. a lot of people are calling into their employers saying this is too big of a day to come into work. many have been waiting for years. so plenty of people spend their day down here. this woman lives in oakland. you came down here. which side of the issue you fall on. >> i fall on the issue of equality all the way. >>will: how excited are you? >> my heart is pounding just thinking about decision time. i am completely excited but also a little bit nervous. on the top of a being pried week, is pretty amazing. i expected progress and equality. i was hoping

make its ruling about 715. especially here in the castro or gay rights are supported we are expecting some of the biggest reaction to the court's ruling. we're just not sure yet if that will be a celebration or protest. in the past several days, this community has geared up for the big decision. businesses have placed placards in the window to let everyone know the possible dates the ruling could come down. incidently, those placards did end up being incorrect because the session has ended a day early. i spoke with one restaurant owner and he says this community is prepared for any role in the court makes kit >> if it does come out-i do think there will be disappointed but i do not think it would be detrimental to their psyche because they have been living under the shadow. i think it will change if it isn't a positive. >> reporter: are less of the

officers. he has been the focus of an intense police investigation since the body of his friend, odin lloyd was found about a mile from hernandez is home. lloyd was a 27 year-old semipro football player. his body was found june 17th. lloyd's of family says he was dating the sister of hernandez his fiancee. they said the two men were friends and work out together on the last night that lloyd was seen alive. >> the public will soon find out whether bart workers have decided to go on strike. two unions representing bart employees plan to release the results of a strike vote today. negotiations were halted as a transit workers voted yesterday. bart employee contracts are set to expire sunday night. the decision to strike at likely mean a

traffic mess for monday morning's commute. ac transit union says they do not have enough buses to deal with the bart strike. >> union workers at ac transit are expressing concern that bart strike could create a dangerous situation for workers and commuters. the amalgamated transit union local 192 sent a letter to ac transit general manager saying there are not enough buses and ac transit's lead to serve all the people normally take bart. in the past, ac transit redirected its buses to accommodate riders. this time, ac transit says there'll be no rerouting if a bart strike happens further complicating the situation, the ac transit union contract expires on sunday the same-day contracts between bart and it's by unions and.

>> dow futures up 63 points, ahead of the opening bell right now. we will be watching the numbers on wall street through out the morning. >> we're taking a close look at temperature is right now and looks like most of us are waking up to 60s. but lot of cloud cover in dense fog at the golden gate bridge. into the afternoon we will see temperatures climb into the low 60s along

the coastline. expect mid '70s on the east bay shoreline and '80s on the warmest inland spots. i will be tracking these numbers into the weekend covering my next report. >> the bay bridge toll plaza back up continues to grow. it is even starting to back a bit on the 80 approach to the bay bridge from the macarthur maze drive times are 18 minutes. slower traffic is still on interstate 580 and highway 4. the south bay is light but it is picking up a little bit of selling now on 1 01 in the northbound direction. all in all, not a bad ride around the rest of the bay. >> anticipation growing as we wait. live look outside at the supreme court. people began to gather as we wait for decisions on proposition 8 and the defense of marriage act. it has been nine years of uncertainty in california as the high court will finally decide about same-sex marriage in our

state. as we watched this crowd that has gathered and really grown in the last 20 minutes for this historic day in washington. let's talk about the scenarios. three out of four possible outcomes that proposition 8 is unconstitutional. one would be widespread that would make the marriage legal nationwide but we do not think that is going to happen. they also reject proposition 8 on more narrow grounds making the marriage legal in california. the third i should would be the uphold the ban on proposition 8 and then it would take an initiative to overturn it. the one that people think is most likely is that the court ruled that the group defending prop eight year in california had no legal standing to do so which means they will toss that out. the lower court ruling that was made in california will stand if prop. 8 is declared unconstitutional. >> crowds began to build at

the supreme court and we are watching at san francisco. mike pelton is standing by in the castro district as we are waiting for people similar to what we saw nbc at the supreme court to start gathering at the courts here as well. >> we're just a half an hour away from the supreme court's decision and of course that is all anyone can talk about here. the handful of people that i've talked to said they are cautiously optimistic. they did not want to get their hopes up too high if the supreme court bubbles prop 8 barry we're expecting to see some of the biggest reactions to the court decisions, we just don't know yet if that will be a this celebration or a protest. businesses have placed placards in their windows letting everyone know when the decision could come down. today is the day and i spoke with one employee here a short time ago about what the decision means to this community.

prove that zimmerman racially profiled the 17 year-old black teen before shooting and killing him. this is a blow to zimmerman said defense. to and other developing stories we are following got a wild scene at the texas legislature last night over a bill that would have of effectively closed all abortion clinics in the state. >> we will suspend a rose called boat and so we can get order in the chamber. >> the state senate trying to say this but could barely be heard over the south of protesters as they tried to pass this bill before a midnight deadline. a democratic state senate windy stood on the floor for almost 13 hours conducting a filibuster trying to block the vote from ever happening. the republicans said she did not abide by the rules and called for

weather certainly on the way, a string of sunshine and even some triple digits. monday is shaping up to be the warmest day of the week. >> today is shaping up to be one of the better traffic days of the week. we've not seen any hot spot this morning. a few minor incidents here and there, the caldecott tunnel cleared. the bay bridge westbound commute back up at the 880 approach has stayed at the same location for the last 15 to 20 minutes. san mateo bridge, highway 92 is still a smooth commute. it is starting to build up a bit but drive times are still good, 11 to 12 minutes. the golden gate bridge ride is still a problem free and foggy on the 1 01 southbound. 19
