released a statement claiming that they have presented a new contract that offers some concessions. this comes on the heels of a proposal by bart management earlier today. the earliest a bart strike could happen is 12:01- monday morning. it's not an understatement to say. a system- wide bart traffic nightmare on bay area roads. >> they have no idea what the proposal is. we have no idea what the proposal is! they're not negotiating with us. we have no idea. and we are mediation? they are negotiating through the press they need to negotiate with us! the union. the

officers, uniformed officers. and everybody as available and to make sure that everybody is safe. >> reporter: out here live, police say that they're going to be monitoring several lives security cameras along the parade route. one at the beginning, one at the end. a bomb sniffing k-9 unit will also be used. there are no significant threats that have been placed on any of the san francisco pride festivities. they are making sure that this stays safe and enjoyable. it starts on market street. and grant is standing by on the parade route. >> pride parade starts sunday morning at 10:30 here at the corner of market and beale streets in downtown san francisco. but streets will close at 7:30 sunday morning. the crowd will head west on market street.with the parade ending at market and

in the death of a friend. but the real shocker today.he's reportedly also being investigated in the murder of two boston men last year. the former patriots tight end stood quietly in court today.as attorneys argued over whether he's a flight risk. prosecutors say aaron hernandez orchestrated the execution of a friend june 17th -- semi pro player odin lloyd. hernandez's lawyer argued thursday that the case against him is circumstantial. but prosecutors say they have plenty of evidence. saying surveillance video taken from hernandez's own home security system showed the football player with a that text messages showed he picked up lloyd in a car he had rented. and that more surveillance video captured the car arriving and leaving the crime scene. lloyd's body was found in a remote area of an industrial park - not far from hernandez's home. as for a motive.

>> "the two of them had gone to a club on friday night. they ended up spending the whole night together and there were certain things that happened during the night that he was upset about and now didn't trust the victim." >> catherine: newspaper reports thursday had more to say on a possible motive. saying hernandez is also being investigated now for a 2012 double homocide. and that investigators suspect that his friend might have been killed because he knew too much. prosecutors aren't talking publicly yet about any possible connection to that double murder in boston. meantime.this scene.shot on someone's cell phone. you can hear fans chanting "innocent" -- as hernandez was being taken from court in a sheriff's van. the judge denied bail. >> pam: major immigration reform passes a major hurdle. we'll break down the so called border security act. and tell you the challenges

>> catherine: a key witness in the george zimmerman trial wrapped up her testimony today. zimmerman is charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of trayvon martin last year. a 19-year-old woman says she was on the phone with martin moments before he was killed. she says he complained about a "creepy.cracker" following him. zimmerman is pleading not guilty - claiming self- defense. today - the defense tried to show that the woman has contradicted her testimony about what she heard on the phone. >> i thought that you said that it could have been trayvon martin/ >> what? >> just earlier today. >> you did not >> catherine: the woman has admitted that she has lied about her age, being martin's girlfriend, and why

she didn't go to his funeral. she also was unable to read the very letter she claimed to have written to trayvon martin's mother - describing the last few moments of his life, which she said she had heard on the phone. >> pam: the search is on for the gunman behind a deadly shooting in oakland. they found one man with multiple gunshot wound this is the oakland's 44th homicide this year. >> the contra costa county sheriffs office putting their achievement on display. today they showed off nearly one hundred weapons they took off the streets of the county in just one month. it was the result of a task force with the sheriff's office, the californina department of justice,the highway patrol and the pittsburgh police that is intended to arrest those prohibted from owning firearms. in addition to the weapons more than thirty thousand rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

all of the senate's democrats plus fourteen republicans. grant lodes is here to tell us what's in the bill and why it faces an uncertain future in the house. >> the bill is titled "immigration reform" but with all the amendments added to get republican support, it could just as well be called the border security act. it puts millions of illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship, and it spends tens of billions of dollars to make sure those workers are not replaced by still more illegal immigrants. >> biden: "the bill as amended is passed" >> "as amended" is right. the end product is 12=hundred pages thick. here's the 60=second version. first, border security. the bill doubles the number of agents patrolling the mexican border to 42=thousand. it also requires completion of the 700=mile border fence. and establishment of a system to make sure people who enter the country as tourists or on temporary visas leave when they are supposed to. it also tightens internal

controls, making it mandatory for employers to take part in the federal electronic verification system "e=verify." within five years all newly hired employees, including american citizens, will have to be checked to make sure they are authorized to work. now for the immigration part. an estimated 11 million people here would be able to start on the path to citizenship. first they'd have to pass a background check, then pay all their back taxes plus a after that they would have to wait a minimum of 13 years. the bottom line: security first, legalization later. house speaker john boehner has indicated he want more, the republican majority hasn't even produced a draft of a bill yet. they are likely to push for even more border controls and a longer path to citizenship. >> catherine: while in africa, the high courtone of

son drank two monsters everyday for three years before he died. the official cause of death is cardiac arrest. the energy drink company mainly markets towards teens, which troubles the lawyer representing the family. >> the issue is the medical science is more and more directed at the fact that these drinks are dangerous. that they can kill people and that they shouldn't be marketed to people under 18 years old. it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to know we shouldn't pump stimulants into our children. in response to the lawsuit the company says the coroner's report does not suggest morris' cardiac arrest was caused by drinking a monster energy drink. the f-d-a is now investigating 7 deaths to determine if monster is a factor. >> jacqueline: it was warmer out there today and it is going to be even more for the next several days.

members are taking place. kron 4's mike pelton spoke to commuters who are anxiously waiting. hoping for a postiive outcome, fearing what could be a transportation nightmare. >> reporter: with the threat of a bart strike just four days away the largest labor unions are making sure that all computers are aware. this morning, there are several copies of these details of their negotiations and the positions. as they passed do the embarcadero, the odds over several issues but the ones that we spoke with are all on the same page. to get a deal. >> these commuters say that it just has to happen. >> it is going to be chaos. >> it is going to be a big inconvenience on gas and parking. >> it is impacting everybody.

>> now for today's market update. u-s stocks rally for a third day. after investors shook off concerns about waning stimulus from the federal reserve. here are the final numbers. the dow rose 114 points. the nasdaq rose 25 points. and the s-and-p 500 rose nine points.

we're now down to three days and as we get down to the zero hour, there may finally be some movement to keep the trains running. >> no one wants to see a strike on monday >> pam: we're just hours away from actually go on strike. here's the latest. station agents, mechanics and train operators have already voted to authorize a strike, but they have to give everyone 72- hours notice before doing so. so right now. the first chance they could strike would be on monday. the contract is set to expire sunday night. today bart officials say, they presented a new package to the union -- one that could get things moving closer to a deal. kron-4's terisa estacio is live at the negotiations in oakland. terisa -- what have you learned about the new offer? >> reporter: well,this is certainly a developing situation. the union announced that they are trying to make progress as the deadline looms over

evryone's head. negotiations just let out here at bart headquarters. they have been underway since 11am this morning. they are scheduled to get back to the table at 7 for several hours. if they can't work out something tonight then it is back to the table first thing tomorrow morning.. although they won't let us into the negotiations. we have learned that there are nearly 50 people involved in the process. and both sides are now saying they have presendted new proposals that offer some consessions. the union says it is budging on healthcare, saying it will agree to mandate that years before
